Chapter 17

My mother hold my hand and take me to her room, then after she closed the door.
She hug me so tight.

“Ivy….I am sosorry…I really am…..i don’t know what to say beside sorry. I know I haven’t being a good mother but there is nothing I can do in this situation. It either we obey your dad or we get thrown out…”

Yes, I knew no one can change anything now. Even after lots of protests, I got nothing.

Nathan was out of the country and wasn’t receiving my calls.

I had accepted it all as my destiny.

I pulled myself from my mother’s hug.

“mom…its okay.. maybe it’s my fate.. i’ll try to accept it.. that’s okay…..”, i clasped my mother’s hand with mine.

“But Ivy… are you okay? honestly… I felt some kind of relief that you are marrying him. He is rich and look nice. He will definitely take care of you…”

My face was blank from any expression.

My eyes went dark from any light.

A shiver ran down my spine thinking what I will do if he will also be like my father.

I am walking with Micheal to the end of the aisle. He’s is my best men. I saw my friends sitting on their table. I smiled to them. they smiled back to me.

Suddenly the wedding march is on.

Then I saw her.

Ivy and her money minded dad, walking the aisle.

I was stunned.

I couldn’t take my eyes off her.

she looks so… so… beautiful. with her white dress, and her hair updo into a bun.

She wears a kind of headpiece and a long veil at the back of her head.

She was so stunning than when I saw her in the room.

Then suddenly I heard gasp from my friends table.

I turned to their table and saw the shocked faces of my friends.

Then i heard Michael cleared his throat to catch my attention.

I turned to Ivy and her Dad. She look so nervous.

I smirked at her back.

Then her Dad took my hand and put her hand on top of my hand.

He told me.

“She is all yours now. I hope you accept my proposal to be your business partner. ”

“Yes, Miguel.”

Then i faced the wedding officiate with Ivy.

And the wedding ceremony is being held.

Then finally we came to the last part of the ceremony.

“From this day on
Do you, Mr Frederick choose Miss Ivy, to be your beloved soul mate,
to live and laugh with her,
to stand by her side and sleep in her arms;
to be joy to her heart and food to her soul,
to bring out the best in her always,
to be the best you can be, just for her,
to celebrate with her in the good times,
to struggle with her in the bad times,
to solace her when she is down-hearted,
to wipe her tears with your hands,
to care for her with your entire being,
to share with her everything that you have,
as promise to treat eher with tenderness, compassion and love as long as you both shall live?”

“Yes,I do”.

“From this day on
Do you, Miss Ivy choose Mr Frederick, to be your beloved soul mate,

to stand by his side and sleep in his arms;

as promise to treat ehim with tenderness, compassion and love as long as you both shall live?”

“Yes, I do”.

“With the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss your bride.”

I didn’t move.

Micheal cleared his throat again.

“A kiss.. a kiss Frederick..” he whispered to me.

I snapped out of my thoughts.

I gulped.

Ivy looked nervous .

I take a deep breath and leaning toward her, My hands slowly reached her, I cupped her face with my hands. And kiss her lips.

It was still unbelievable for me that my dad made me got married to someone I dont know for some money.

I could see the smirk of ownership in his eyes and a golden cage in which I will have to spend the rest of my life.

The wedding was all over and I was leaving with him.

He came beside me and threw his jacket on my face, startling me.

“Wear it!” He said in a damn stern tone and I quickly draped it around my shoulders.

The whole ride was in silence.
