Chapter Forty-two
“Stay here, I’m coming.” If only he knew that would be the last time he’s going to see her mother.

“Mom! I can’t stay here.” Mike said truthfully.

“I’m coming. Just stay here. Don’t move from this place, I promise to come back for you. Stay silent and don’t move from here, okay? I’m coming.” Mrs Philip removed the hands that were holding her cloth and walked away from her son.

Mike cried silently in the forest, anytime he heard any strange voices, he’d keep quiet and watch vigilantly.

Hours in the dark, he waited. He Waite and waited for his mother to come back and take but all in vain.

His mother abandoned him. Soon, he slept off and was woken up by a burnt smell.
His eyelids opened slightly, he gasped and eventually opened the eyes fully.
Fire!!
Fire has been set around the forest, burning towards him. He stepped back, hit his leg with a stone and fell down.

“Help!! Someone is here!!” He shouted.

He couldn’t even move cause he was surrounded with fire.
He began losing consciousness and coughed hard cause of the smoke.

Before he fainted, mike remembered his mom.
Why can’t she come for him? He’s dying.
“There’s someone in there.” Someone shouted to his hearing before he finally fainted.

Several hours later, He woke up in the hospital and after he was discharged, the man who saved him, took him in and made Mike his son since he didn’t know his mother’s whereabouts.

Till he grew up and clocked twenty seven, he never get to see his mother since then.

Mrs Philip didn’t mean to abandon her child. She was caught by Mike’s uncle who took her away while she tried to get something for her and Mike.
There was hatred between Mike’s uncle and Mr Philip’s family.
It was hatred with passion.

Mrs Philip was asked of her son but she couldn’t talk. She doesn’t want to put her son’s life in danger. She needed to keep the little boy safe.

After much questions and suffering from both Mike’s uncle and his gangs, she was shot in the chest like her husband.
She lay lifelessly on the floor. Thinking she was dead, they left her but not without burying her.

Anthony, Mike’s uncle was determined to get Mike but couldn’t find. He mustn’t appear one day to destroy what he has planned for.
