Chapter 38

Alma.

I refused to dance and only kept watching them as they sang, Clifford paused the song and signalled for his brother to pause.

“Why aren’t you dancing?” He asked.

“I need to know about Earl, where is he?” I asked obstinately.

“What business do you have with Earl?” Clifford asked.

“Well, he’s part of you and since I’m now part of the band, I think I should know.” I said.

“You are only a temporary dancer to Clifford, don’t act like the band can not do without you.” Edwin said.

“I suspended Earl, is that all?” Clifford asked.

“Why did you suspend him? what did he do, when will his suspension be over?” I asked but Clifford looked at Edwin.

“He will resume tomorrow, it was a week suspension.” Edwin answered and I nodded slowly.

“I believe we can continue, now?” Edwin asked.

“Sure.” I said and we continued rehearsing

Following day, I was hoping earnestly for Earl, he seems to be the one that liked me most amidst Clifford and his brothers.

As a matter of fact, I went to sit at the living room hoping he shows up in the morning. About an hour after I had sat, the door opened and Earl came into sight.

“Earl!” I screamed and stood. I almost hugged him but I realized our relationship isn’t up to that.

“What are you doing here?” He asked in amazement.

“Clifford brought me here himself.” I answered with a smile.

“Clifford fired me cause I was fighting for you, glad you are back.” He said and I nodded happily.

“Are you still in the same room? ” He asked.

“No, In Clifford’s room, he said he forgot the password to my room.” I said.

“Oh! you have been sleeping on the same bed with him? wow! show me the room he said he forgot the password of.” He said and I nodded merrily.

I led him to the room that was right beside that of Clifford. Seems as if Clifford overheads Earl and I speaking.

Clifford came out and his eye fell on Earl.

“Brother, how have you been?” Earl asked.

“I’m fine, how has been your suspension?” Clifford asked.

“I took out the time to exercise, have fun , go to places I have always wished to travel too, it was all fun. Thanks for the suspension.” Earl said but Clifford didn’t say a word.

Earl then faced me, “Is this the room Clifford said he forgot it’s password?”

“Sure.” I answered and Earl turns fully to the door of the room beside that of Clifford.

Earl pressed some numbers on the door and the door let way.

“I just helped you, brother.” Earl said to Clifford but the look on Clifford’s face was dissapontment.

“Go in, Alma. It’s not right to sleep in the same room with a grown male.” He said and I nodded and walked in.

“I’ll speak with you for few minutes.” He said, entered my room and locked it, leaving Clifford outside standing.
