Chapter 26

Alma.

Clifford stood still and watched me, “if not because it was the middle of the night, I’ll have ordered my securities to throw you out.”

“To throw me out? like I’m some unused clothes or what?” I asked.

He climbed the bed and tried to carry me, I remained stiff cause I didn’t want him to carry me, in his struggle, he fell on me.

He hurriedly rolled away and shouted; “My days! I’ve touched you…poir girl.” He began to pull off his clothes.

“Why don’t you do that in your room? you can’t be pulling off your clothes here, someone might think we were actually having sex.” I said.

“Not everyone thinks like you.” He said and undressed. He was now left with his boxer. “I hate you.”

I remained on the bed and watched him closely, “But I didn’t make you fall on me, you should have stayed away from me.”

“I regret I attempted to throw you out.” He said.

“Don’t you think you should bath? ” I questioned. “You touched me, remember?”

He walked back to his room. I find it hard to understand why he treats poor people like sh*t.

Following day, I woke and found out that the room had been cleaned, seems like some people came after I slept to clean and areange the room.

I stood and get dressed, I checked the time and saw that it was only few minutes after 7AM.

I walked to the living room and I only saw Edwin seated.

“Good morning, Edwin.” I greeted.

“Good morning. I overheard keyboard being played at the musical room yesterday, was it you and Clifford that were practising?” He questioned.

Before I could answer, Clifford and his three other brothers began to approach the living room.

They walked pass me and walked out of the house. Edwin stood and said; “Well, we are ready to leave to school.” He also walked out.

I followed them and hoped that Clifford allows me to be transported along with them to the school.

As they stepped in, I stood by the car nervously not knowing if I may enter or not.

“Aren’t you going to school?” Edwin asked from inside the car.

“I don’t know if Clifford would allow me enter the car.” I said.

Edwin turned to Clifford and then back at me, “Get in.”

I got in and sat beside him, to my surprise, Clifford didn’t say a word until we get to school.

I entered the class and sighted Jennifer on her seat, she had always come earlier to school than I.

I approached her and hugged her gaily, “Your night?”

“Fine, did you hear the new rumour, everyone is saying you are Clifford’s girlfriend.” She said to my surprise. “See them.”

I turned towards the direction that Jennifer pointsd to and I saw some students gathering around as if they were watching something.

“Yes, I saw them while coming, what is that about?” I asked.

“They are checking the pictures of Clifford in your house. Someone must have snapped the both of you when he came to your house.” Jennifer said.
