“A lot because you are Annabelle and you are my daughter” She said, her eyes locked on hers.

 

Rosie’s eyes widened in surprise, before she burst into laughter.

 

“You really think I’m going to believe that? I don’t even know how you knew about it in the first place! But I’m not buying any nonsense you are saying to me, never!” she exclaimed, her voice laced with skepticism.

 

“I am not lying,” Evelyn insisted.

 

“Then prove it!” Rosie yelled at her, and Evelyn went mute,she doesn’t have any evidence to proof it, so how will she go about it?

 

“I need to meet with your parents, please,” Evelyn pleaded.

 

“Get the hell away from me!” She pushed her away and Evelyn landed on her butt.

 

“I knew it won’t be easy, but I will prove it to you very soon,I will have my Annabelle back” Evelyn before getting up.

Rosie sauntered back into the lecture hall, before going to join her friends at their seats.

 

“What took you so long?” Mariana asked, as she licked her Ice cream cone.

 

“Nothing important,” Rosie replied, glancing at her wristwatch. “Shouldn’t we be starting lectures by now? We’re already 10 minutes late.”

 

“It’s been cancelled,” Dean said with a shrug.

 

Rosie raised an eyebrow, surprised. “Cancelled? Why?”

 

Dean shrugged again.

 

“No idea. Professor Smith just sent out a notification a few minutes ago. Maybe something unexpected came up.”

 

Mariana nodded, taking another lick of her ice cream.

 

“Well, I’m not complaining. Extra free time is always welcome!” Mariana said and they laughed.

 

“Let’s get something at the cafeteria,I’m starving” Mariana said again and they both looked at her.

 

“Wow, Mariana, you’re going to eat again?” Dean teased and grinned. “How many times are you planning to eat today?”

 

Mariana laughed, “Hey, I’m starving, okay? And it’s not my fault the lecture got cancelled.”

 

“Let’s go to the cafeteria now,I suddenly feel hungry ” Rosie said and they got up before heading to the cafeteria.

 

They sat at a table, and they made their orders.

 

“I’m predicting Mariana will eat at least three more meals today! I’m so confident, I’d even bet money on it!” Dean commented.

 

“Yeah, Mariana got a bottomless stomach” Rosie playfully added.

 

“Hey, it’s not my fault, okay? I’m eating for two!” Mariana said then laughed.

 

Dean and Rosie looked at each other, then back at Mariana, grinning.

 

“Oh, so now you’re blaming the baby?” Dean teased.

 

Mariana nodded, smiling. “Totally! This little one’s got a big appetite, and I’m just trying to keep up.”

 

“Well, I guess that’s a valid excuse. But only if you start calling the baby ‘Foodie’!” Rosie chuckled.

 

Mariana laughed, shaking her head.

 

“You guys are something else. But seriously, pregnancy cravings are no joke. I’m just trying to satisfy this little one’s demands!”

 

“Fernando is a great player,he really scored the goal” Rosie teased her and Mariana rolled her eyes.

 

“That’s enough,now let’s eat” Dean said and just then, Noah walked into the cafeteria, scanning the room till his eyes landed on Rosie, and he smiled.

 

“Seems someone is looking for you ” Mariana nudged her and Rosie turned back to see Noah approaching their table.

 

As Noah approached their table, he smiled warmly at Rosie and leaned in to kiss her on the cheeks.

 

“Hey, beautiful,” he said and Rosie blushed.

 

The sweet scene caught the attention of the other students in the cafeteria, and soon, whispers and chatter filled the air. Mariana and Dean exchanged a knowing look, grinning at Rosie’s obvious embarrassment.

 

“Hey, guys, can I borrow my girl for a minute?” he asked, turning to Mariana and Dean before he turned back to Rosie.

 

“Sure thing, Noah,” Mariana said, nodding her head.

 

“But don’t keep her for too long, we need her back to finish our meal!”

 

“Yeah, and don’t steal her away from us forever” Dean added.

 

“Don’t be silly guys, I will be right back” Rosie said, before leaving the cafeteria with Noah.

 

“So I’m the only one without a lover? Wow, just wow!” Dean muttered and Mariana laughed.

 

“Not sorry for you”

 

“It’s unfair” he sulked.

 

“Life isn’t fair either”

 

“Can I join you guys?” Asked Tessa as she came over with her tray of food.

 

“Yes,it’s a free world” Mariana invited her.

 

“Thanks” she sat down before looking at Dean who have already started eating.

DONOVAN’S MANSION~

 

Donovan came down from the car, alongside with Alicia, as soon as they got arrived.

 

“Why am I?” Alicia asked, looking at her surroundings.

 

“Don’t be scared,you are completely safe with me. I brought you to my house.” He assured her.

 

“Why did you bring me here?”

 

“I want to know more about you, have that answered your question?”

 

“There’s nothing to know about me”

 

“I find you fascinating,I like you” he said sincerely and Alicia almost laughed.

 

“Are you trying to mess with my brains or what? how can you like me when you barely know me?”

 

“And that’s why I brought you here,so we can know each other better”

 

“Before this goes far,I want you to know that you are hitting on a pregnant woman and I’m two months gone already,so reconsider,I’m sure you won’t like that right?”

 

“I know you are pregnant and I don’t care,I just wanna know you better. Can you come in now?” He asked her.

 

“Wait are you a serial killer? Why are you telling me to come in? Don’t worry let’s do everything here” Alicia said looking so scared already.

 

“I said you are in safe hands,trust me” he reassured and this time around, Alicia felt at ease.

EVELYN’S PLACE~

 

Evelyn paced back and forth in her living room, her mind racing with questions. How did Carl get poisoned? How did it happen? Who could have done such a thing?

 

The more she thought about it, the more she became convinced that she had to get to the bottom of it. She needed answers, and she needed them fast.

 

Or is life playing tricks on her? It’s should have been Fernando dead who died,not her son.

 

And there’s also Annabelle’s situation to think of,no matter what ,she will have her daughter back. She can lose in three places.

 

“I just have to look for her parents, and everything will be sorted out” she said before picking up her phone to dial Mr Lincoln but he didn’t pick as usual.

 

“Annabelle,you are my only hope”

GRAYSON’S MANSION~

 

A car pulled up in front of the building, and Blondie came out of it with a smiley face, and then Matt followed.

 

“Thanks again for the ride”

 

“It’s no problem at all”

 

“Are you sure you don’t want to come in?” She asked.

 

“Nah it’s fine, maybe next time” he replied.

 

“Okay that’s fair enough,see you tomorrow I hope”

 

“Of course” he said and she smiled before entering inside to meet Logan, standing near the curtain, looking through the window.

 

“Stop that Logan,you look creepy right now”

 

“Is he your boyfriend? This isn’t the first time he’s dropping you off”

 

“He’s just a friend”

 

“Indeed,I can see it” he said in a sarcastic tone.

 

“Oh please,I’m not ready for this. You know, you’ve been avoiding me since the day you kissed me”

 

“The kiss was a mistake”

 

“Oh wow,so you call that a mistake. Well it’s not to me. Screw you Logan!” She sauntered off to her room.

 

“I love you too!” He screamed after her and she gave him the middle finger making him to chuckle.

NIGHT, A RESTAURANT~

 

Fernando and Mariana decided to eat out today and here they are at ‘ Tantalising ‘ restaurant savouring a delicious dinner.

 

“Guess what?” Fernando asked as he finished up his food.

 

“What?”

 

“We are going to Paris soon, just you and I alone”

 

“You don’t mean it?”

 

“Yes I do”

 

“Yes!” Mariana exclaimed.

 

“But that will be after your exams”

 

“That’s perfectly fine,our exam is next week. I really can’t wait ”

 

“Me too baby boo” he leaned forward to kiss her nose.

 

“So how many weeks are we spending there?”

 

“Just one month,my dad will handle the company while we are gone,” he explained.

 

“It’s just gonna be like a honeymoon right?”

 

“You can call it that too”

 

As Fernando and Mariana continued their discussion, a lady can be spotted seated at another table. She was dressed in a hoodie and shorts, and her face was partially hidden by a face cap. She kept a low profile, her eyes cast down, and her presence was easily overlooked.

 

As she finished her meal, she glanced over at Fernando and Mariana, her eyes lingering on them for a brief moment. But she quickly looked away, avoiding drawing attention to herself.

 

Then, she quietly got up and walked out of the restaurant, going unnoticed by the couple and other diners.
