Fernando and Mariana both came out of the doctor’s office heading towards their car outside but Fernando still has that shocked look on his face
“Since when have you known this?”he asked when they got outside
“This morning when you left for the office,trust me I was shocked as you are right now”
“What exactly did you hear them saying?” He rest his back on the car still looking shocked
FLASHBACK
She got to Evelyn’s room door and made to knock when she heard some conversations inside the room
“Mum when exactly will Fernando die,I hate seeing his annoying face”Carl said from inside and Mariana gasped but quickly covered her mouth
“Patient Carl, patient. Should I shock you?” Mariana heard Evelyn say
“What’s that?”
“I’ve been poisoning Fernando’s food for a while now and it will be in a matter of time before he dies” Mariana eyes widened
“Wait, I thought you told me he’s in his last stage of liver cancer”Carl said and she laughed
“It’s all a lie,I have his doctor working for me”
“It’s a lie”
“Don’t underestimate your mother,I’m doing this all for you anyway. Francis wants to cheat you but I won’t allow that,that’s what he will pay for favouring Fernando over you”
“It’s time dad focus on me and start doing me like his first son I am”Carl said and Mariana eyes widened more
‘ Carl and Fernando are related? ‘ she asked inwardly
Mariana almost barged in on them but she stopped herself,if Evelyn is this type of person then she won’t hesitate to ki*ll her right now since she knows their plan so she just stood there listening to their conversations
As Mariana listened,her eyes grow bigger and she covered her mouth with her palms. She suddenly heard footsteps approaching the door and she left there immediately to the living room.

“Let’s get into the car, people are staring”she told him and they entered but Fernando didn’t start the car,he really looked hurt
“I swear I’m gonna ki*ll Evelyn once I get home,I won’t take it lightly with her I swear”he held the steering angrily

They arrived home minutes ago, Mariana was coming from the kitchen when Fernando came down dressed in a simple t shirt and black jeans

“I wonder where he’s taking me to”she said but followed him anyway.

Fernando stopped the car right in front of the boutique and Mariana looked at him
“What are we doing here?”
“You coming or not?”he asked then came out of the car making Mariana scoffed and they entered the boutique together,a lady quickly approached them.
“Good evening sir” the lady greeted with a wide smile “How can I help you both today?”
Mariana gave Fernando a look that said, ‘What are you up to?’ but he simply shrugged in response.
“Well, actually, my wife here needs a makeover.” Fernando gestured towards Mariana.
The lady beamed and guided them towards a dressing room. “Don’t you worry, Mariana” the lady said and Mariana only nodded dumbly

Fernando was still waiting in front of the dressing room patiently with a magazine in hand.
He suddenly stopped it and groaned,”why is it taking so long?”
The lady came out of the dressing room afterwards and Fernando looked up
“Where’s my wife?”
“I don’t know why she’s shy but she will come outside soon” she said and then left.
The dressing room door opened and a pair of red high heels stepped outside,The heels were followed by a pair of shapely legs, wrapped in a dazzling, red dress that accentuated every curve.
As the door opened further, Fernando’s jaw dropped and his eyes widened in disbelief. There stood Mariana, transformed into an elegant and confident woman.
The dress hugged her figure perfectly, bringing out the exquisite beauty in her. The makeup was subtle but sophisticated, highlighting her natural features and giving her a radiant glow. Her hair was styled in loose waves, giving her a seductive yet feminine look.
As Fernando stared at the transformed Mariana, his mouth opened and closed in a silent attempt to find the right words.
He was stunned by her beauty well she has always been beautiful but this is the first time he will be seeing her on makeup, and for a moment, he couldn’t believe that this was the same woman he had known
“I…I don’t know what to say,” he stammered. “You look…incredible.” he said and Mariana blushed pink

“You are so beautiful Ana,both inside and out”he said and he kissed her forehead
“So what’s this all for?”she asked and he smiled

As they approached the venue, Mariana’s curiosity grew. “Where are we going?” she asked with suspicion
“You’ll see,” Fernando replied with a mysterious smile. “Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.” He said as the car made a stop and and came out.
They entered the hall, which was adorned with balloons, streamers, and sparkling decorations. Music filled the air, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Suddenly, a chorus of voices erupted in a joyous “Happy Birthday!” Confetti rained down from the ceiling, adding a touch of magic to the already enchanting scene.
Mariana stood surprised as she saw her parents, Fernando’s parents,her friends and Fernando’s friends. So they all knew about this?
Her eyes shone with delight as she took in the sight of the party that had been planned in her honor.
Fernando, beaming with pride, wrapped his arm around her waist. “Surprise!” he said, leaning in to whisper in her ear. “Happy birthday, my love.”
Tears welled up in Mariana’s eyes as she realized the lengths Fernando had gone to make her day special. “I…I don’t know what to say.
“This…this is amazing,” Mariana managed to say, her voice choking with emotion. “I can’t believe you did all of this for me.”
“It was the least I could do for my wife” Fernando replied, his eyes shining with love and adoration. “You deserve it and so much more.” He said and everyone cooed
“So you guys knew about it?”Mariana asked pointing at Dean and Rosie
“Your mum texted us about it”
“I told Fernando that today is your birthday and that you haven’t celebrated it big before and he came up with this”her mum, Mrs Gilbert said
“Happy birthday daughter in law”Mrs Gilbert came to hug her and Mariana reciprocated
“Well, we know you’ve always wanted to go to Paris,” Rosie began, her smile growing wider and Mariana turned to her
“And we thought, why not make your dream come true?” Mr Gilbert said
“We’ve booked you and Fernando a trip to the City of Love, with all expenses paid!”Mr Lincoln said all smiles
Mariana’s hand flew to her mouth in shock. “No way,” she whispered, her eyes welling up with tears once again. “You guys…you really didn’t have to do that.”
Fernando pulled her into a tight hug. “They didn’t have to, but they did”he said and she smiled
“I have a special gift for you”he said and Mariana looked at him
“Another gift?”
“You deserve it and besides that’s my dad gift to you and now I wanna give you mine”

Rosie and Dean finally got to the house through the address Mariana sent
They couldn’t help but to marvel at how magnificent it is,they were quickly showered in by a maid
“Please seat while I go call Mrs Mariana for you”the maid said and left to fetch her room about
“Swears Mariana is enjoying,if I were the one in her shoes I will be the most happiest person right now Infact I will never come out again”Rosie kept talking and Dean looked at her
Evelyn came out of the kitchen with a tray containing two cup of juices
“Please enjoy”she dropped it on the table before them. Rosie kept looking at her and suddenly her head started banging and she held it with closed eyes
“What’s wrong?”Dean asked and Evelyn went closer and she looked at Rosie clearly for the first time
“Can’t be”she shook her head and she went back to the kitchen
“I’m fine now,just…forget it”she said and that was when Mariana appeared
“Birthday girl!” They yelled and went to hug her
“You’re suffocating me already”
“Not sorry” Rosie said
“Happy birthday Mari”Dean said and she hissed
“I’m still mad at you”she feigned ignorance
“I’m so sorry okay? I wasn’t in my right senses”
“I thought as much, come on and give me a hug”she spread her arms for a hug and Dean moved in
“Missed you a lot”

“I’m jealous”Rosie voiced asked and they laughed
“Now where are my birthday gift?”she requested
“We forgot”Dean and Rosie chorused

“We don’t know what to get you “Dean pouted
“This must be my worst birthday ever,no birthday gift from my friends and families,well at least Fernando is planning something for me”she said,Dean and Rosie shared secret eye contacts and they smiled
“What’s making you smile?”
“Nothing”they said together again and she shot them a suspicious look
“Come over to my room”she invited

EVENING,MIRACLE HOSPITAL~
Fernando and Mariana arrived 30 minutes ago after he came back from the office and they waiting patiently for the doctor’s report
Seconds later,the doctor called them in and they went inside
“So doctor how was it?”Mariana immediately asked
“Well from what I have here,your husband doesn’t have any terminal disease like liver cancer”the doctor said and Fernando frowned immediately
“You are mistaken doctor,check it well”he argued
“Fernando my doctor doesn’t make mistake,isn’t this not a good news?”
“How do you know I have liver cancer in the first place?”he queried
“I will explain when we leave here”she said and they turned to the doctor
“Okay you said I don’t have any liver cancer,is it then something worse? Coz the way I’ve been feeling this way isn’t something minor but severe”he said
“Who prepares your food?” The doctor asked and Fernando frowned again
“It’s our head maid”Mariana replied for him
“Well I guess she has been adding something to your food that will ki*ll you slowPLEAlow poison”
