Chapter 91
(Blessing and Curse)

The priestess was about picking up a kettle from the fire place when the earth shook vigorously. She stood up swiftly, picking up her staff as she managed to avoid falling. Just behind her, a large portal opened, revealing Vampic fall. She smiled on seeing it, but got confused as to why it came with a sudden earthquake.

She breathed in softly, looking round at her apartment, picking up any necessary thing she will be needing. She was already done with all she needs, while the others will be left behind, for anyone that decides to take up the hut. She entered into the portal as it closed up.

Castle~
A lightening strike hard against the castle walls breaking the magic spell surrounding it, causing some part of the walls to fall off. Lottie ran out of the library where she was going through some books, to clear out her curiosity.

She met Drusilla out there trying to fix the fallen walls with magic, she assisted her and after a few minutes they were both able to fix it.

Lottie collapsed to the ground, holding her chest, letting out a soft groan
“What is it” Drusilla asked, going to help her up

“Megan….it’s Megan” Lottie muttered in a whisper. Drusilla’s eyes popped out in confusion
“What happened to her?”

“I don’t know…but I can feel her parting off this world, something wrong has happened, the prophecy has been tampered with. We need to check up on her” she noted, Drusilla sighed sadly

“What could be wrong” she asked no one in particular
“We need to leave for Vampic Fall….if we can’t go in through the shield, we will force our way through, using the book” Lottie suggested, walking back into the building.

Emerald went to lock her window again for the umpteenth time; the heavy hurricane going on out there is enough to pull down a strong wall. She prayed silently that an earthquake doesn’t happen. Suddenly there was a loud thunder and lightning strike.

She flinched, climbing up her bed, hugging her teddy close to her body. Goldie, her dog, ran out of its little house going up her bed to climb on her body in fear

“Hey Goldie…”She caressed its fur, as the dog made little whining sounds.

“Shh…don’t be scared ok…it’s just a thunder storm, it’s gonna be over soon. She sighed out, touching the mating mark on her neck, it reminded her of her mate; D’Arcy. She smiled remembering when he marked her, and what he told her before leaving

“Please be safe and come back to me” She thought in her mind, another lightning strike blasted the tree close to her window, making her jerk up. No one knows what caused the sudden hurricane, it was actually going to be a bright morning, but this rain had disrupted some people’s plan or the day. Even the weather forecast didn’t predict a rainfall today; this is more of a mystery.

Back to the vampire kingdom, the agony of a god had brought a natural disaster to not just the Vampire world but also every other world on earth. They could feel his pain as he grabbed Megan in his arms, shedding tears of sorrow; she became stiff and cold in his arms.

“Meg…”he called again in a whisper, placing his hand on her bloody stomach. The two bullet wound had created a large hole in her stomach, bursting through her intestines.

“No…no” he whimpered, trying to see if he could heal the wound, he dipped his claw into the wound and pulled out the two silver bullets. He dropped it beside him, sniffing in. He pulled down his mask, placing his lips of hers. He couldn’t feel the warmth of it anymore; it was just a cold flesh against his lips.

He pressed his hand on her tummy, muttering words only the supernatural could understand. Just then, Carlos alongside D’Arcy rushed in. D’Arcy had met him on his way there, hiding under a rock. He held the trident firmly in his hand as he dashed into the shrine.

Everyone in the kingdom knew that something had gone wrong, but couldn’t place their hands on the exact cause of the storm. They both paused in their steps seeing the disorder in the shrine, with Onyx dead corpse sprawled on the ground, and Megan coated with her blood in Lazarus’s arms.

He was backing them, so they couldn’t see his face at first, but they knew he was in pains with the way he held her to himself. Carlos let out a gasp while D’Arcy simply watched on with a heavy heart.

Lazarus tried all he could do to revive her, but the more he tried, the more life leaves her

“Harghhh” he groaned frustrated, ruffling his hair. He placed his face on her chest, sobbing

“No…you can’t leave me this way Megan…please don’t leave me…please” he wept

He wept for a while before getting up, picking her in his arms. He didn’t bother to wear his mask any longer; he turned towards the exit of the shrine, where Carlos and D’Arcy stood.

This will be the first time they will be seeing his full face; they gape at him before regaining consciousness. He looked really sad and angry, walking towards them, stained with Megan’s blood. He paused on getting to their middle

“Tell the priestess to meet me at my apartment” he muttered, before leaving with the air

Logan’s POV
King Philip stood at the end of the battle ground, alongside few warriors to guard him, including his personal guard, watching his warriors fight without being part of the war. He is such a coward, only gives command and some idiots will follow.

After leaving the dungeon, I made a swift pass, through the battalions of soldiers having a feisty blood battle, killing anyone that tried to stop me until I got to the location where everything is going to end. My claws were already dripping blood of the vampires I have killed. The anger burning in me wouldn’t quench until I do the last thing which is on my mind.

Philip did a very wrong thing by coming for this war; he should have been home with his many wives, having a fun time, because today is going to be his end. I walked down the path majestically like the royal blood that I am; the throne might have been deprived from me, but the fact that the blood of royalty still runs in my blood stream remains the same.

I could see his squinting look as he cast his glances on me from afar. The warriors who were to guard him surge forward to attack me. I was ready to bring them all to earth

“Protect the king” One of them said, as they lurch at me, with their weapons, but I will go with claws. I stabbed their chest, breaking the necks of the ones my hands could reach. In a matter of minutes, five where down, remaining ten more to go

“You are such a coward Philip…if you are man enough, tell these warriors to step back, you know who I am. I will ki*ll everyone of them; fight me man to man, claws for claws if you can..bas***d” I seethed, remembering all he had done to me.

Philip is my uncle; he took over the kingdom of Ricadua by force after my father died, and eventually banished me after getting a hold of the trident, and imprisoned my mother

“And why will I want to fight a bas***d…you are not worthy of my fight Logan” he yelled out, laughing hieratically, annoying me the more.

“So be it…” I gritted, jumping into the air with my claw fully out, I jumped across the heads of the warriors taking them unaware, and stabbing the horse he sat on. The horse neighed loudly, while he jumped off. His second in command charged at me, while the warriors made a circle round us, to prevent me from escaping.

“Your death is near Logan…you shouldn’t have ignited this fight” Philip yelled from behind, invoking the power of the trident. The warriors drifted backward to avoid being hit.

But something dreaded happened; suddenly there was a loud roared, it came from a distance, the earth began to shake, there was an immediate earthquake, causing the ground to divide. Some of the warriors, including the second in command were swallowed by the earth.

A loud lightning bolt struck the earth, making us stumble to the ground, as everyone tried to find a secure place to avoid the hazard. A mighty wind began to blow, causing a disorder; the clouds became pregnant with a heavy downpour, giving us a blind vision.

I struggled to be conscious of everything going on, I was getting weak from being locked away in the dungeon for a long time, but wouldn’t give up. If I really need to get what is mine, then the time is now. Everything went back to normal after a while, some warriors could be seen struggling on the ground, and most of them have been killed by the disaster.

I vision Philip making his way towards where the trident had fallen off when the lightning had struck. But I was swift, I charged at him, but he was swift to avoid my claws. He pushed me to the ground, stumping his feet on my tummy.

Bringing out his claws, he boiled with rage as he tried stabbing me with it; I kicked his legs using a super speed, bring his to the ground, while gaining the upper hand. Without wasting more time, I stab him repeatedly with my claws, while he struggled still

“You time is up Philip, the throne was never yours to begin with. You crook” I seethed. He smirked in pains

“Be..ready to face my sons…they will make your life a living hell, the battle has just begun. You will never sit on the throne” he whispered. I smiled out

“No….you, be ready to cry for them, because the trident will now be in my possession, ready to serve me, and I will do unto them what you have done to me, and my mother…” I snapped furiously, slitting his throat. I picked up his head in my hand and walked away

I walked towards the trident and picked it up, immediately, there was a transfer of ownership. I could feel the power of the trident, surging into my body. I waited for the process to end, before walking into the battle field.

The warriors who were still fighting stopped to stare at me, there was this tension, this calmness, this aura, they could feel; making changes in the atmosphere. I dashed towards the mountain part of the battle ground where all eyes can see me.

Holding the trident up high an gave a loud cry; the whole warriors including that of Vampic Fall turned to stared at me. The trident glows brightly commanding their attention.

“The war is over..the king of Ricadua is dead…have his head” I threw it down the valley as it rolled and stumbled along the rocks.

“And I, Prince Logan Knight, prince of Ricadua and rightful heir to the throne commands that you warriors retreat back to your tents.” I commanded, stamping the trident to the round. The whole warriors of Ricadua went on their knees with their head bow in reverence. They surrendered their weapons one by one, as each captains of each crew order the retreat.

“The war is over..” I vowed in my mind.
~~~~~
Noon~~
The sun stood high up, shining in a lower temperature. The land of Vampic fall is already in ruins, but the people were trying hard to clean up. Smokes could be seen in almost every street, from the houses, shops, farms, schools and many more.
The street stings with blood of the dead, the warriors, burnt up the corpse as they try fixing up other things. D’Arcy could be seen in the palace, giving orders; Thana had been taken to a cell to await further judgement. Amber couldn’t help but cause a sobbing scene after finding out about the death of her father.
“Where the hell is my father…you can’t tell me he is dead no…and you, what are you doing with the king’s trident…you bas***d” Amber yelled, trying to free herself from the grip of the guards who held her.
“I now have the trident to serve me, I make the orders Amber”
“How dare you, where the hell is Hunter, leave me alone” She dragged with the guards
“Take her to her room and lock her up” D’Arcy ordered
“Yes my lord” The guards replied and dragged Amber away
The palace was getting fixed in matter of hours, everyone going back to their normal duty, but a certain place in the kingdom isn’t having a warm feeling. Lazarus had taken Megan to his apartment, where he cleaned her wounds and laid her on a neat sheet, covered her body with blanket.
He sat some meters away from where she lay, watching her stilled body. Her time is running up, in the next few hours she will be finally gone.
The demon of death has been lurking around, waiting for her time on earth to elapse so as to carry out his duty, taking her into the afterlife. But Lazarus hasn’t given him the chance to; he is only being patient, if her time runs out, now even Lazarus can stop him.
The door to the room opened as the priestess stepped in, he noticed her presence but didn’t turn to look. She walked fully in, stopping behind him to stare at Megan
“I received your message…and came here immediately I was summoned. D’Arcy will surely make a good king, what is the matter with her” She asked, going towards the bed. Lazarus ruffled his hair, folding his plams together
“She was shot…her cells are dead already” he managed to say. The priestess only looked on
“She is a lily…”
“She is my mate..” Lazarus resorted.
“I know” The priestess replied
“I am a demi-god…why can’t I revive her…I have tried” he noted with a sad voice. She heaved a sigh
“Because only the goddess is meant to change prophecies that she gave us. You are a god; you can’t change the prophecy of a thousand years. A lily is meant to be a sacrificed to the Vampire world.
The prophecy was supposed to come in two different ways, it was supposed to affect two different people. But the human here was unfortunate to bare a blessing and curse at the same time.
The manifestation of the prophecy collides in one body, which is wrong. She was meant to be the one to bring back the world of Enchante, but the curse made by one of the vampire priestess of old disrupt the plan.
Don’t be surprised that things worked this way, it was meant to happen. She shouldn’t have come here; if she hadn’t perhaps the curse wouldn’t have come to pass. The blood of a Lily is meant to be shed in the shrine, taken by a royal to get more power, but the blessing prophesy made by the witches queen also disrupted the plan, and instead of working out the normal way, it took a u-turn.
Blessing and curse cannot work together, the seal is the blessing and the power of the Lily, is the curse, both in a weaker vessel, a human. One of it is supposed to work first to destroy the other; since she couldn’t complete her mission as a seal, then the curse decided to destroy the blessing. One can’t serve two masters.
Lazarus scoffed, sparing her a dangerous glance
“So what you are trying to say now…is that…she is going to die?” He asked
She nodded
“She couldn’t save the mystic race while alive…then she will have to do so at her death…as a sacrifice to the blood goddess.
“No…no..i won’t take that…there supposed to be another way. I didn’t even get the chance to mark her” He mumbled, going to hold her hand. He placed it on his chest, watching her pale face with teary eyes.
“There is nothing I can do” the priestess muttered.
