Chapter 93
(Hidden Agendas)
Rose’s POV
I still can’t get over what Emerald told me at the garden. I mean, it’s kinda hard to believe the fact that all she said is true. We are currently in class now, receiving lectures. My mind is actually not here, just my body; I turn to look at her as our eyes met.
The whole class had been glaring hard at her ever since we returned, but she is my friend I will have to stand by her in trying times like this right.
Back to what she said earlier
“Dave is a Vampire”
“What…I mean how?” I whispered not sure of what I heard. Perhaps I didn’t hear her well, I thought. She gulped in, breathing out
“You heard me Rose…Dave is not human, he is a Vampire” She responded
“But how is that possible…do vampire still exist..i thought it was just a myth”
She stared at me for a while, not saying anything
“It’s no myth Rose…it’s real. Do you think everyone you see here are all humans, hell no. There are vampire, witches and many kinds around us; just that they try to keep calm and do not reveal their identities when they are in the human world.”
I let out a funny and nervous chuckle
“That’s strange…doesn’t still make sense.”
“You have to believe me Rose. Dave isn’t a bad vampire…he wouldn’t hurt anyone.”
“Then how did you find out about him being a vampire, because there wasn’t any evidence showing that he is one. He supposed to have fangs, claws and all that.”
“That’s why I said they act like humans in the human world. He also revealed himself to me…we are kinda..a couple now” She muttered. I stood with my mouth widely open. I just can’t see to take in all she said.
“Look…I know there isn’t much time to say all right here..i’m only telling you this because you are my friend. I don’t want any other person to hear about this. I will like to show you something too”
“What” I asked
“It’s not now…maybe you come to my house after school hours, we will discuss more on it. But please..let no soul hear about this…please Rose; until I’m ready to tell any other person.” She pleaded with a pout. I nodded
“Cross my heart. I will be at your house after I’m done with anything I have to do at home”
We ended our discussion that way and headed back to the class before our first lecture started. Now I’m being eager for the day’s lesson to end, so that I can hurry home, rest and later on go to Emerald’s house. And just as my wish will have it, the day’s stressful lesson ended just the normal time; at long last.
We both walked to our car park, meeting my driver, and surprisingly, Emerald’s driver wasn’t here to pick her but Daniel.
“Hey babe” he called, walking closer as he pulled me into a hug, placing a soft wet kiss on my lips. Emerald scoffed, rolling her eyes
“Can’t you two just wait and get a room later on” She snapped in a funny way. We both laughed, disengaging
“I can’t do without her lips on mine a day” Daniel chipped in
“Whatever…why isn’t my driver here..”Emerald asked
“He had to drive mum out..so I came instead..and I couldn’t wait to taste my baby’s lips, so” he winked, kissing me again
“Whatever..thank goodness mum is not home..i’m going in. Just make sure you don’t eat up her lips” She snorted, going into the car
“Is she mad at me” Daniel asked
“You didn’t even offer her a word of greeting..she is still your kid sister..remember?” I noted. He nodded
“Yes mum”
We busted into laughter
“Come on…go in..bye…see ya Emmy” I called out, she waved from the car.

Vampic Fall~~
D’Arcy’s Chambers~
“A lot has happened within few hours, just can’t believe that the king and that bad guy is dead..weird…really weird” Carlos muttered, sitting on D’Arcy’s bed
“Yea..sometimes one just needs to take a step to get what one wants.” D’Arcy replied, cleaning the wounds on his skin with cotton soaked in liquid ointment. Most of the wounds had healed up, just leaving a few deep ones.
It would have healed up, if not for the fact that the scar was gotten from Hunter, who is a royal. And the marks from royals give a long time scar before clearing up on the victim’s body.
“So now..what’s next…you are taking over the throne…or Jezebel” Carlos asked, despite knowing the answer
D’Arcy scoffed, turning to face him. He dropped the cotton wool on a silver plate, getting on his feet as he walked towards the standing mirror.
“And why will Jezebel be an option…that brat can’t even hold a sword. Sometimes I wonder if she is truly a royal. Anyways..i am now in possession of the Trident, I will be crowned king soon. But first I need to see someone..” He let out a soft smile, thinking of her
“Who…wait..that smile is telling me something..is there something you are hiding from me” Carlos asked, grinning
“Nahh…well..i found her already..” he shrugged
“Wow…so..you mean..your mate…you found your mate..that’s cool you know. So what’s she like…what kingdom is she from”
D’Arcy rolled his eyes
“The human world”
“What…your mate is a human…you’re sure you ain’t making a mistake?”
“And why will i.. I really miss her. Can’t wait to see her again…gosh..just can’t get over our last moment”
“You marked her already”
“Sure…she is permanently mine. So there is nothing to panic about”
“So you ordered for the queen to be locked up?”
“Which queen? You mean Thana?”
Carlos shrugged
“Yes..she needs to be there for the main time, until she confess all that had been done in the past. I sense that my dad’s death wasn’t just a natural phenomenon, she has a lot of questions to answer”
Carlos scoffed
“Do you think she will want to confess..well..i can’t say. But what if she isn’t guilty of all you wanna charge her for”
“Then she will be set free and still retain her title”
“Ok…so when you fully become king..are you gonna treat me differently”
“Differently…How?”
“You know…this royalty stuff comes with power and authority..you might start ordering me around..we won’t get the time to hang up are friends anymore” he pouted. D’Arcy laughed out
“Funny you..but that’s not gonna be true”
“If you say so..i will be glad. Have you heard from the disciple..”
D’Arcy sighed out sadly, remembering the bloody scene.
“I wanna go check up on him. The priestess has gone there already” he replied wearing his jacket. He was about saying another word when a knock came on the door. A guard walked in after being summoned
“My Prince…we have intruders from another world. We don’t know how they managed to break in, but they seek your presence” he noted with a bow. D’Arcy and Carlos shared a perplexed look
“Who are they?” He asked after a second of silence
“Two witches your highness..they are surrounded by a strong magic spell. Not even our strongest magicians can fight them” The guard replied
D’Arcy smiled
“I think I know them” he whispered to himself
“Bring them in…

Amber’s POV
Staring at the long time portrait of I and my dad, I let out the tears in my eyes, sobbing loudly. Why will he have to die, why will he have to die..why. My dad is my only hope in this world, this palace. He is the reason why I was able to get all I have gotten. I won’t allow this to slide…I must know who killed him, and why Hunter decided to hide it.
He didn’t tell me about you had poisoned my food, he also lied about my dad being alive, carrying out his duty. He lied about everything. I think he knows those behind it, he is only covering them. I cried on dropping the portrait on the ground.
My eyes wandered to the table close to my wall mirror, an envelope was laying on it. I struggled to my feet, going to pick it up. I tore it off bring out the paper in it. It was a letter, written by my dad. I quickly cleaned off the tear on my cheeks, recognizing this hand writing. He had truly written the letter, but when and why didn’t I see it earlier.
“Dear darling daughter, if you are reading this letter right now, then perhaps something bad might have happened to me. It’s either Thana has carried out her devilish plan against me, or Hunter had decided to lock me up in the dungeon from calling his mum a cheat. If not, I would have come back to your room to take it off and perhaps shred it to pieces.
There are many hidden secrets which you need to know my dear, I will have to start from the scratch, so that if I am not there with you, you will be able to know your friends and enemies. Hunter had actually called me to his chambers; I will be leaving after I’m done writing this letter.
I had a quarrel with Thana over you getting poisoned. I had a hunch that you were poisoned by Jezebel, considering the fact that she despised you a lot.
The content of the poison is a grinded wildflower seed and other substances which made you lose the baby. The only person that had access to wildflower in the kingdom is Onyx and perhaps Thana.
Onyx has a devilish way of smuggling the seed of the flower into this kingdom without anyone knowing about it. It was used to ki*ll King Orpheus; Thana always put it in his tea daily, until it eats up his system. She works with Onyx in order for him to take over the throne after Orpheus demise.
So it’s either Onyx or Thana that gave Jezebel the substance, if I am not right, try to find out things from your personal maid. And if you can’t find me anymore, then it’s either the work of Hunter or Thana. If things get out of hand, leave the palace for your safety and go to the kingdom of Ricadua, there you will find refuge.

I dropped the letter back on the table, crying my eyes out. So the people behind my misery are just under my nose. Thana will surely pay, same as Jezebel, they both will pay for this. I won’t leave Dad…I will make sure I revenge your death.

Emerald’s House~~
“So what is it you said you wanna show me” Rose asked. She is currently in Emerald’s room; they both sat on the door, with both legs crossed
“Did Daniel see you when you came in?”
“Nope..do you think I would be here if he had seen me”
“Ok…check this out” Emerald pulled down her shirt from the neck level showing fully the mark on her neck.
“Harghh” Rose gasped
“Isn’t that a bite mark…Emerald…” She called out in fright
“What”
“You really need to get it treated, don’t tell me you were also bitten by one of those vampires in the club house..that…wait a sec…you ain’t saying anything about it” Rose shuttered, worriedly.
“It’s actually not a mere bite mark, it’s a mating mark..D’Arcy did it”
“Really…erm..D’Arcy??”
“Oh..that’s his real name…his vampire name”
“Oh..so you both had a fight or what..why will he bite you?”
“Come on Rose…you should know what a mating mark is..he marked me to show possession. I’m his mate, we are meant for each other”
Rose stared at her with face full of surprise
“So you mean, you both aint’ just dating, you are gonna marry him too. What are you gonna tell your parent..how are you gonna cope with all this. Is he gonna take you to his kingdom or what?”
Emerald sighed
“Honestly, about my parent, don’t know how to tell them. I have been wearing turtle neck clothes ever since I got the mark, just to prevent them from seeing in. Not even Daniel knows about it. I’m confused here Rose…really confused
“I also don’t know what advice to give. it’s just doesn’t seem right. Though I am not against your relationship…if you really love him and erm..you know..are his mate…it’s cool. It just seems weird, first time seeing a real life vampire by the way. No wonder he looks so cute..gosh.” She tapped her forehead. Emerald chuckled
“So..does it hurt” She asked, referring to the mark
“Nope…it only sting when he dipped his fangs into me…it would have healed up if I am a vampire, but it’s taking time to heal being a human.”
“Don’t you need to take medications, are you sure there won’t be complications. Like, isn’t it poisonous?”
“Absolutely not”
They were still talking when the door to her room suddenly open, as her mum walked in
“Emerald..i got……” Her mum was still saying when her eyes wandered to Emerald’s neck. She froze
Emerald tried to cover up, already shivering in fear, but it was too late.
“What the hell is that on your neck…take that piece of cloth off…what is that mark” her mum screamed, climbing on the bed
“Mum…it’s not..”
“Jesus Christ…don’t tell me you have been hiding this wound all this while…what the hell…this is a beast bite on your neck for goodness sake” She snapped out, in fury
Emerald regretted not asking Rose to lock the door; she didn’t believe that her mum will come home suddenly.
“You really want to die right…without getting this treated…tell me this is a lie Emmy..we are going to the hospital right away. And girl…you really have a lot of questions to answer…especially the about ongoing news posted on your school blog.” She gritted. Emerald gave a scared look; Rose gulped down nothing, trying to beg on her behalf, but her mum’s mind is determined
“Mum it’s not what you think…those are lies..”
“The hospital first” She snapped
