NOT ANOTHER LOVE STORY
Episode – 34

I stopped the car and the policemen immediately divided, one stood in front, one at the back and another one came to the window.
“Good evening…” He said, “Can you please take off your cap?” He added.
“Is there something wrong officer?” I asked him.
“Kindly do as told to avoid causing unnecessary trouble.” He responded.
I took off my cap, he looked at me, then on his tablet and then back at me.
“Let me see your license and registration please…”
“Is that needed?” I asked him.
“License and registration, sir!” He repeated. I could tell he didn’t like being asked question. I handed it to him.
“Mr Muchimba. You are a hard man to find.” The officer said. He raised his hand and out of nowhere a bunch of them showed up to surround the car.
“What is this? What’s going on?” I shouted, adding a bit of irritation to the mix despite knowing well what was happening.
“You are under arrest. I would advise that you refrain from saying anything that you will regret later on.” The officer said.
“I had a feeling something like this would happen.” Mwape sighed as I drove off to the side of the road.

“Under arrest!” Allan exclaimed. It was thrilling to watch him pretend not to know what was going on.
“Please, step out of the vehicle Mr Muchimba.” A different police officer approached us just after he parked the car. From the way he looked, he was of higher ranking than the first one.
Once Allan and I stepped out, he was handcuffed.
“Babe! Call Lucas. Tell him to call my mom.” He said. I did just that.
I didn’t have a driving license, one of the officers got in and drove behind the vehicle that had Allan. Within 2hrs, we were at Lusaka Central Police station.
My phone vibrated and it was a message from Ivy.
IVY – Don’t say I didn’t warn you, I gave you options and you decided to fight for love.
MWAPE – What do you want from me?
IVY – I don’t want anything from you. If you know what’s good for you, you will leave that station swiftly before Allan’s father gets there. Otherwise, if he finds you… Your life will never be the same.
MWAPE – Are you threatening me?
IVY – I wish I was, but nope. After all, being smart is when you can tell when it’s time to give up and fight another day.
I was freaking out, I sent another text but Ivy didn’t respond. Allan was ordered to take off his clothes and thrown into a cell. I still didn’t understand why I was being ignored by the police. A female officer walked up to me and told me that I couldn’t be at the cell. Without nowhere to be, I sat at the reception area waiting for Lucas to arrive.

“We need to head to the police station. I’ve just been told that they have arrived.” Allan’s dad said.
He got the keys on the table and stormed out, mum decided to stay behind with me. We would later join them at the station.
“What is happening here?” Mum asked me.
“What do you mean?” I asked her.
“Well, the last conversation we had… You told me to hint Mr Muchimba that his son’s phone was off. You knew this was happening right?” He said as she sat down.
“I had an idea,” I responded.
“Am your mother, tell me the truth,” Mum said.
“The truth? Are you being for real right now? I told you the truth about Charlie and where did that get me? Nowhere!” I lashed out at her.
“Now, Dad’s knight has run away with another girl. You would have just let me be in Netherland. I was happy.” I told her.
“Did you have something to do with this?” She asked me.
“I wish I did.”
I went to the bedroom and the only things left there were mine. Allan had swept the house clean of all his belongings.
I sat down on the bed, at least what was left of it, LOL. It was the only time I could open the letter.
ALLAN – Hi Ivy, if you are reading this letter it means I didn’t show up for the wedding. So, I decided to sell the house and the buyer was generous to pay cash for it. You will receive all the money on Wednesday, I know you’ve always wanted to go to Dubai… I know the main reason why that money will help with that.
I’ve always felt like I didn’t know the other side of your coin, it has always been a mystery to me _ and that’s the reason I feel like you’ve been pretending.
I’ve decided to take Mwape with me, when the heat settles, the two of us will get married. I’ve left the two cars for you, you can do what you like with them. AM SORRY AND GOODBYE.
“Piece of sh*t!” I shouted.
‘What does he mean by saying he knows why I want to travel to Dubai?’ I packed all the clothes that were at the house. I got mum and we left to meet up with dad because it had gotten late.

“This man… Why did he have to be my father?” I asked myself.
With all my status, dad had ordered them to treat me like a common criminal. He didn’t have any regard for life. This wasn’t part of the plan, the only explanation would be that Ivy decided to go back to the house.
