The Brooklyn

“No! Aunt! Don’t do this!!” Someone screamed.

Ethan immediately looked up. He could recognize this voice even in his dreams, it’s Phoebe.

He quickly got down the car and rushed to the house. He opened it without and went in.

To his surprise, he saw Emma and Ella laughing as they pinned Phoebe down. Elena on the other hand was busy lashing out of naked Phoebe.

Ethan’s eyes widened, what kind of inhumane activity is this. Elena picked up the iron which was busy heating up.

“Maybe once I destroy those b**bs you’ll stop sleeping with men” Elena said.

“I already told you, Ethan is mine but still you went ahead and went out with him. The whole school now thinks you guys are dating, ugh” Emma groaned.

Elena began bringing the hot iron to Phoebe’s.

“No! No! Please!!” Phoebe screamed, trying to break free.

Before Elena could touch Phoebe, someone caught his hand from behind. Elena looked back to see a young handsome man.

“Ethan!” Emma gasped.

Ethan took the iron from Elena and without acknowledging the fact that Elena is old enough to be his mother, he slapped her really hard.

Elena fell down, looking at Ethan in shock while holding her cheek.

“So this is the kind of treatment Phoebe keeps receiving every blessed day? Why? Because she’s far more better than your daughter? Because of envy and jealousy huh?” Ethan yelled.

“Ethan, see…” Emma began speaking.

“If I turn and you both are still holding Phoebe, I won’t care whether you’re women” He cut her off.

Emma and Ella quickly released Phoebe who sat up, still crying and shaking due to fear. She didn’t even bother to cover her nakedness. Ethan crouched in front of her and wiped off her tears.

He removed his jacket and wore it on her.

“It’s okay…” He whispered.

Emma stared jealously at them, wishing she was in Phoebe’s place.

Ethan brought his phone and made a phone call

“I need you now…” He said and hung up before turning to the trio.

“You guys are fun of treating people like mere things right? Let’s see how you’ll like it if you were treated as such..” Ethan said.

Elena immediately went down to her feet. If she knew who Ethan was, she wouldn’t have treated Phoebe this way. Ethan is none other than the son of colonel John Wyatt.

“I’m sorry, I promise I won’t lift a finger on her” Elena begged.

Emma and Ella just stared at their mother in surprise.

“Too late”

Three cops came in the house. They immediately stood at attention when they saw Ethan.

“Sir!” They chorused.

“Take these three away and don’t release them till I say so. Make sure you lash them everyday before they go to sleep” Ethan said.

Ella, Emma and Elena’s eyes almost bulged out in shock.

“No! Please, I beg you… I’m sorry!!!” Emma begged as they dragged them away.

They kept screaming and pleading as they dragged them away.

Ethan took a deep breath to calm down his anger before turning to Phoebe. She was still crying silently.

“It’s okay, I’m here. Don’t you trust me? Well you don’t trust me but still it’s-”

Phoebe hugged him tightly.

“Thanks so much Ethan” Phoebe said.

Ethan stroke her hair.

“Come with me, you’re leaving this house” Ethan said.

Phoebe looked up…

“But-”

“No buts, if you keep staying here they’ll eventually kíll you or worst still they can set someone up to ràpe you or even sell you off and…”

Ethan paused and cupped her cheek.

“I’m,, I’m not ready to loose you” He said.

Phoebe just stared at him, same as Ethan..non of them speaking. Ethan looked away after a while and cleared his throat.

“Let’s go” Ethan said and stood up.

Phoebe nodded and stood too. They both left the house and got in Ethan’s car. He drove off immediately.

The ride was silent but fast too. Ethan got down the car and opened it for Phoebe to come down.

She stared at his apartment as he guided them in..

“So I haven’t prepared a spare room yet so think we’re gonna share a room” Ethan smirked.

Phoebe rolled eyes and folded her arms under her b**bs.

“Don’t you dare try anything if funny or else…”

“Or else what? You’re not really a good position to threaten me” Ethan said, looking at her exposed thighs.

Phoebe gasped and hit his head.

“Stop starring” She said.

“Ouch” Ethan laughed while rubbing his head.

He led her the way to his room. Phoebe walked in and was surprised to see his room clean and tidy. She was expecting something catastrophic.

“Here, you can wear this after your bath” Ethan handed his one of his shirt.

“The bathroom is that way” Ethan said, removing his shoes.

Phoebe nodded and walked in the bathroom. Ethan laid down on his bed, staring at the ceiling.

“First time I’ll be having a girl in my room without f*cking her” Ethan thought with a smile on his lips.

Morning, Donovan’s mansion**

Scarlett yawned cutely and sat up on the bed. She looked round the room and squinted her eyes.

Last night, she literally begged Raymond to sleep in his room and he accepted.

Scarlett got down the bed when she seemed not to find Raymond. That’s when she heard the sound of the shower.

“He must be having his bath.” She thought.

She made to leave his room but paused when she saw an opened drawer with some pictures in it.

Her curiosity took over and she crouched down next to the drawer. She brought out the pictures and looked at it.

It was Raymond and on the picture, he wasn’t the Raymond that she knew. On the picture, he was smiling and he seemed so happy. Beside him was a red haired lady who looked so beautiful.

They were both smiling, staring at each other lovingly. Scarlett stared at the woman on the photo, she brought her hand to touch the face of the woman.

“They look so happy together” Scarlett whispered to herself.

She looked back at the drawer and spotted a ring in the drawer. Looks like it’s their wedding ring..

Scarlett sighed sadly, right now she felt like the third party.

“Is he ever gonna love me the way he loveds you. Will he ever make some space for me in his heart?” She said, staring at the picture..

Her sadness doubled when she remembered that it remains just one week for them to be together.

“One week… 7 days” She muttered sadly.

“My child could have been 2 years if that incident didn’t happen” Raymond said behind her.

Scarlett quickly kept the picture and ring and turned to him. He was busy wearing his white shirt.

“How did she díe” Scarlett asked.

Raymond looked at her for awhile before continuing to dress up.

“She was ràped till death”

“That’s sad…” Scarlett muttered.

“They ràped her, not minding the fact that she was heavily pregnant… I went to work on that day and returned home, only to see her dying. Luckily she told me the name of her kîller,,, just their family name though” Raymond said and looked at her.

Scarlett just stared innocently at him… She could see anger flash through them.

“Whos it?”

“Tell me,,, do you trust your family at 100%?” Raymond changed the topic.

“Yeah,,, why?” Scarlett asked.

“Just asking” He passed her to take out his suitcase.

Scarlett looked back at him…

“Today makes it one week we have to stay together” Scarlett said.

“You must be so happy right” Raymond said putting what he will need in the suitcase.

Scarlett took in her lower lips and looked down. Raymond turned to her when he didn’t hear her reply.

He lifted her head up by the chin and kissed her lips for brief while before releasing her.

“I have an early meeting to attend today. See you in the evening wife…” He said and left his room.

Scarlett touched her lips and blushed.

“He just called me wife…” She thought.

Howards University**

“Apres vous mademoiselle” Angelo said once he got down.

“Love can turn someone to a French citizen” Melody said, coming down the car.

Angelo chuckled and hung his hand on her shoulder as they began walking to the gates of the university.

“Well of course! I love you and I won’t stop telling you. Hey everyone I love Melody Parker!!!” Angelo screamed out.

Melody pushed him away as a red color crept her cheek.

“You’re so embarrassing” Melody said, looking at all those who stared at them.

“I’m just being honest” Angelo said and laughed.

Melody stared at him with a smile on her lips. Maybe today will be the right day to confess what she feels for him.

She looked back at the bracelet she was wearing. One is for Andrew while the other one for Angelo. She smiled as she touched one…

She slowly looked up and frowned when she saw a red dot on Angelo’s chest as he laughed. She raised a brow and looked at where it was coming from.

Her eyed bulged out at what she saw.

“No! Angelo!” Melody screamed and ran to Angelo.

She immediately hugged him tightly and gasped when two gunshots were fired, hitting her back.

The students began running up and down I fear as they heard the gunshot.

Angelo stared at Melody in shock. Melody looked up at Angelo and smiled with trembling lips, blood began escaping from the corner of his her lips.

She brought her hand to his cheek.

“I…love you…Angel” She said weakly and slowly closed her eyed.

“Me- Melody…”
