Chapter 27

“It’s part of my job,” she tried to stress.

That made it worse.

“Helping your boss clean up a social event after work is not part of your contract. You should know that but you still let him, that mutt. Remember, we had an agreement that you would only work for three days a week from nine to three. Anything work related after that is something you have to ask me about,” he reprimanded.

“But it was a party for the new trainees–”

“I don’t care. If this ‘party’ of yours was actually what you said it was, then you shouldn’t need to be there for those trainees anyways. You know you had to ask me,” he glared.

“So from now on, you are not going to anymore work-related parties,” he stated.

It was like he was suddenly jumping to conclusions with her.

She gazed in shock and bit her lip to hold her frustration because she knew she couldn’t possibly be hearing what he’s saying.

What was she, twelve?

“Damien, you are being ridiculous. I already am stuck in this house for hours on end, you should at least respect the fact that I want a social life,” she said.

“You having a social life is a privilege, not a right. I gave you this privilege because I thought I could trust you, but you are pushing your limits. As my wife, you are to stay here and take care of our house. I gave you the option to work because you wanted it but you still didn’t respect my wishes,” he ranted,

“You don’t even need friends, you don’t need even parties and you don’t need a social life. The only person you need in your life from now on, is me,” he growled.

He suddenly walked over to her and grabbed her phone next to her and smashed it onto the ground where shrapnel pieces flew across the tiled floor.

It was silent for a few seconds before she whipped her head towards him in shock.

“You’re insáne,” she gritted her teeth.

She hurriedly walked past him in a storm and started rustling through the drawers.

She heaped a pile of random clothes and threw them to the bed before taking out a bag from wardrobe.

Her husband, who had quickly followed her out, obviously saw what she was doing and immediately went livid in rage.

“What are you doing?” he barked.

She ignored his question and continued stuffing random articles of clothing into the bag and trying to zip it close.

“I knew this wouldn’t work. I can’t live being confined like this. I need to get out,” she argued.

She heard him scoff and sensed him walking closer before she felt an iron grip on her upper arm.

“Don’t you fvcking move,” he whispered threateningly.

She saw how his voice got deeper, into a sin of dark venom flowing from his mouth to her ears. It made her shiver in absolute terror and her body froze in total fear.

“You are mine. You agreed to marry me,” he seethed through his teeth,

“You are not allowed to leave my side. Ever. Do you hear me?” he scowled.

“I don’t care, do what you want. I’m still leaving,” she said.

As she was about to wrap the bag around her shoulder, his vice grip grabbed her shoulder and pushed her backwards.

She roughly yelped as she fell and landed beneath the bed.
