Season 2 episode 17.

 

“Oh mom, by the way where’s dad? Palesa asked after Anastasia drove off.

 

“In his room, she replied and she wanted going to see him but saw Jason looking at the Photograph,

 

“That’s mom, Palesa said to him.

 

“I know, did you see the girl who served us over there? Jason asked.

 

“Yes why? Palesa asked.

 

“She looks like mom right? Jason asked and Palesa scoffed.

 

“Are you serious? Why should a girl like her look like my mom? Oh please, Palesa said and ran up to meet her dad.

 

“Jason forget about it alright, twice someone mistook me for someone on the street, just forget about it, Julia said and his phone began to ring.

 

“Its mom, he said and picked the call……

 

Anastasia went home and heard noises all over the house, she rushed in and met Faith and Favour quarreling seriously.

 

“What’s going on? Anastasia asked but they were quiet.

 

“Is everyone now dumb? Anastasia asked.

 

“Is Hope, we asked her to help us with some laundry but she bluntly refused, Faith spoke up thinking Anastasia will scold them..

 

“So? She didn’t do it? Anastasia asked and they nodded.

 

“Hope is this true? Anastasia asked.

 

“Mom when I got back….. “Did you do the laundry yes or no? She interrupted.

 

“I didn’t, what if I wasn’t here who will they command to do the laundry? Besides I am tired, Hope replied and Anastasia was surprised with the boldness Hope used.

 

“Mommy did you hear that? Favour asked.

 

“Hope if you are not washing the laundry you will sleep hungry tonight, Anastasia replied.

 

“Gladly am not a foodie, good night, Hope said and went in to take her bath and go to bed.

 

“Mom I think she’s proving tough, Faith whispered to her.

 

“So I see, but don’t worry she’ll be tired when i show her the real me, Anastasia replied smiling.

 

“But mom, why are you this happy with this Palesa of a girl? Faith asked.

 

“I was her nanny, she replied.

 

“And? They chorused.

 

“I love her and she’s a smart sweet girl, Anastasia replied.

 

“But mom, honestly that girl looks like you…….. “Even her voice, faith interrupted Favor.

 

“Please just leave me alone, maybe she’s another version of me, I didn’t tell you both to go look like your father, Anastasia said.

 

“Are you saying we are jealous? Faith asked with a frown.

 

“Looks like you’re jealous a stranger took my resemblance, Anastasia said laughing while they shook their head picking up their clothes.

 

“Is the food ready? She asked.

 

“Yap, I’ll go set the table, Faith replied.

 

“Remember that girl is not eating, Anastasia said and left for her room………

 

Jason and Palesa sat outside the swimming pool that evening with a glass of juice,

 

“Today was suppose to be stressful but I find it fun, how do you see my country Jason? Palesa asked and he smiled.

 

“Cool, he replied and Palesa looked at him..

 

“What’s wrong? There’s something on your mind, Palesa said.

 

“You won’t like it, he replied.

 

“But why? You’re making me scared now, she said and he smiled.

 

“Relax is not about you okay, its about the girl at the restaurant, he said and Palesa sat up.

 

“What about her? She asked.

 

“I know it’ll sound stupid but I want to see her again, I liked her immediately I saw her and I don’t know why, Jason replied and Palesa eyes bulged out.

 

“You like her as what? Wait, are you trying you say you’ve fallen in love at first sight like what I do see in movies? Palesa asked and Jason saw the anger in her eyes.

 

“Why are you worked up? Is it a crime I like her? He asked.

 

“Are you asking me that? I thought its me you love, she said.

 

“As a friend and that doesn’t mean I can’t love another, what are you thinking? Jason asked.

 

“As a friend? What did you tell me in my birthday party? Palesa slowly asked.

 

“What I told you? What was that? He asked.

 

“Jason you’re kidding right? Why did you give me a red rose? I thought it meant something, Palesa said.

 

“Palesa it doesn’t mean anything, I gave you that rose because it was your special day and you are special to me not that you are my girlfriend, Jason said holding her but she beat his hand.

 

“Stop making a fool out of me, you said you loved me, you said it yourself what now!, Palesa said crying and Jason foolishly looked at her.

 

“Palesa what are you saying? I love you as a sister and I have always treated you as one, did I say anything wrong when I told you I love you? He asked but Palesa ran in.

 

Anastasia stayed on her bed going through Palesa photos smiling happily.

 

She decided to call her and after 2 rings Palesa picked up,

 

“hello Best, she said with a sad voice and Anastasia noticed.

 

“What’s wrong with you? She asked.

 

“Nothing Best, Palesa replied.

 

“Don’t tell me that, were you crying? She asked and Palesa heaved.

 

“Its Jason, She replied.

 

“What did he do? Anastasia asked.

 

“I thought he was my boyfriend not knowing he wasn’t, She replied and Anastasia rolled her eyes.

 

“Like seriously you were crying for Jason? But what made you think you two were dating? Anastasia asked.

 

“I thought we were because of what he did on my birthday party, but then he likes the waitress of a girl, Palesa replied.

 

“Waitress of a girl? You don’t mean the girl that stays with me? Anastasia asked sitting up.

 

“Who else, I regret going with him to your restaurant. we grew up together but he couldn’t love me, just few minutes seeing her he’s already in love with her, Palesa said crying again and Anastasia bite her lips.

 

“Honey is alright, put yourself together and let’s see tomorrow okay, we will talk about this, Anastasia said.

 

“Noo i don’t want to see her, I just don’t want to see her else I’ll do something to her I’ll regret, Palesa replied and heard her mom coming.

 

“Best we will talk later, mom is coming, Palesa said.

 

“stop crying dear, I’ll call you tomorrow. goodnight, Anastasia said and the line went dead.

 

Palesa heard a knock on her door,

 

“Come in, she replied sitting up and Julia walked in and was surprised to see Palesa eyes red.

 

“What happens to you? She asked checking her eyes.

 

‘Nothing got in mom, I was just crying, Palesa replied.

 

“Crying? What for? Julia asked.

 

“Jason is in love with someone else, she replied.

 

“I thought you two were dating? Have you broken up already? Julia asked.

 

“Mom i don’t understand anymore, he saw a stupid waitress in the restaurant and fell in love with her just like that. I can’t believe Jason can fall that way, something is wrong somewhere, Palesa said and Julia shook her head.

 

“I am still finding it hard to believe this story, i mean Jason is too good for that. He doesn’t flock around girls and he practically grew up with you, why should he do this? Julia asked.

 

“Thats it mom and right now am confused. He told it to my face that he likes her and we are only friends, Palesa replied.

 

“This is serious, Julia said not knowing what else to say.

 

“Mom please something should be done about this, I love Jason and you know it, Palesa said.

 

“I know honey, maybe we will just keep him far away from this girl he likes. I hope she isn’t the girl he insisted looks like me right? Julia asked.

 

“Exactly, she replied.

 

“Okay this is what is going to happen, I’ll go down there and talk to him then I’ll get back to you, Julia said touching her hair.

 

“Thank you mom, Palesa said and Julia pecked her and left.

 

She saw Jason still outside and sat with him,

 

“Aunt i thought you were asleep, Jason said.

 

“I wanted to but then i found Palesa crying, why did you replace her with another? Julia asked.

 

“She told you that? No i need to talk to her, Jason said and hurried off to Palesa room.

 

He knocked once and walked in closing the door behind him.

 

“What’s wrong with you? What makes you think I’ve replaced you? Remember i haven’t talked to this girl and i never said i loved her. I only said i liked her, Jason said.

 

“Still that doesn’t prove a point to me, you just broke my heart, She said and he laughed.

 

“Seriously? What do you know about breaking someone heart? Okay how can i make it up to you? He asked.

 

“After laughing at me? Do you think am joking here? She asked and Jason held her.

 

“Palesa i love you, that’s true and I mean it. You know me palesa, will you think i will fall easily for this stranger of a girl? Don’t mind me, I only wanted to piss you off, Jason said and she looked at him while he laughed.

 

“You’re crazy, that joke was too expensive, Palesa said hitting him and Julia peeped looking at them smiling.

 

“Am sorry okay, now can you smile? Jason asked but she hugged him instead………….

 

Anastasia paced in her room thinking hard,

 

“What’s this? Palesa left and Hope did same, Now Hope is back and Palesa suddenly came down. The tone in Palesa voice carries hatred, oh no this Jason of a guy will bring violence between this two. What will i do now? Anastasia asked herself worriedly…………
