He stood in front of his father’s grave and made no attempt to control his tears.

Recalling the last he saw his father.

Spoke to him.

He bowed his head in shame and regret wondering what sort of son he was.

He felt a pair of hands wrap around him from behind.

“ I’m a terrible son, Ara.”

Amara told him how wrong he was to say such.

“ You don’t understand.” He faced her. “ I said the most hurtful thing any son would tell his father.”

“ I called him a murderer…a disgrace…I told him…I….I regret ever being his son.”

“ All these years I thought I was paying for the sins of my father…such an irony.” He smiled in pain.

That was the first time in seventeen years he was visiting his father’s grave.

What a son he is…

Amara quietly led him back to the car where Sire was waiting.

Sola and Sire were now in good terms and she accepted the fact that he was in love with Amara.

Sire had gone first to pay her respect before Sola.

Amara also went to her parent’s grave. Dora showed her the picture of the both of them and she must say she looked more of her father actually.

Rosaline met her fate as she was sentenced to death by hanging. The fact that Bidemi didn’t attend surprised everybody. He travelled for work that morning and while Sire didn’t stay till the end.

Amara told them she loved them even if she doesn’t remember everything.

The drive back home was quiet.

Two years later———————–

There house was full. There was Fredrick, Dora, Tayo, Julius and his family and Bidemi.

Although, Sola could tell Bidemi still felt something for his mother from the way he looks at her, but she and Fredrick were official now. She was even moving her things to his house.

They had decided we celebrate Thanksgiving together and it was blissful.

Sola did get his company back and also read the note his father left him.

Isaac told him he knew Sola was angry at him but he would never try to hurt anyone.

I just want you to know how much I love you son and probably one day you’ll come to know the truth. When you do, never feel guilty of anything. Live your life to the fullest, get a wife and have my grandchildren and tell them their grandpa sends his love from heaven.

Always.

Isaac knew he was not going to make it. The whole department had been bribed and there was no getting out.

Sola did fire Amara from C.S.A.

“ You should have seen the look on her face.” Sola laughed telling the others, earning a playful frown from Amara.

Dinner that day was very lively and Olaniyans had to leave early due to work. Julius’ family also took their leave while Julius stayed back.

Sola was going to have a word with him. He caught Julius and Esther in bed two nights ago.

So that she-goat is not even a vi^gin anymore.

Dora left with Tayo to the supermarket. The young detective insisted on helping her out. He was planning to win the boss lady’s heart, despite their age difference.

“ I’ll be sure to be your best man whenever she accepts.” Sola laughed.

It’s going to be really hard for him but Sola wished him good luck.

Sola stood by the window upstairs, watching Esther telling Amara something, making her laugh hard.

“ You know, if she knew how long you stare at her in a day, she might probably say “no.”

Sola chuckles at what Anna said, then looked down at the small box in his hands.

He was going to propose to her.

Sire helped him pick a ring on Wednesday. All he’s doing now is waiting for the perfect moment to propose.

After talking with Julius and finding out he had actual feelings for Esther, he walked downstairs to meet the ladies then remembered he never actually got to, officially, thank Amara for paying for his dinner that night.

Would probably do that with the ring, let’s see if she says “yes.”

He thought as he approached the beautiful ladies that were chatting happily in the garden.

Life had never felt better. So peaceful and he looked forward to his future with the woman he sat with by the pool two years ago.

The End.
