“You know when you ain’t tryna act feisty you look beautiful.” His sudden confession surprised her making her wonder if he’s acting again..

 

“You don’t look so bad yourself.” She tried to maintain eye contact with him even though he was holding onto her…

 

His hands has been around her waist since they got to the spot and this made it impossible for her to move backwards…

 

“True.. I’m splendidly handsome and you can’t ever find someone like me .” He proudly said and she smirked..

 

“Tsk! Don’t flatter yourself too much.. your driver is much more handsome than you.” She rolled her eyes and he pinched her cheek..

 

“Sebastian?” He asked and smirked mockingly.

 

“Ye-” their conversation was interrupted when someone cleared their throat..

 

“Hello Lord Lucas we meet again.” A lady in her mid 20’s spoke..

 

Anna stared at the beautiful figure Infront of them and a trace of surprise flashed through her eyes..

 

The lady Infront of her was beautiful with a porcelain skin which radiated under the lights..

 

She was truly a beauty to behold..

 

“And you are?” Lucas asked with a cold expression.

 

“Oh I’m Kendall Williams and sure we’ve met before and you must be his secretary.” The strange lady flashed a flirtious smile at Lucas and belittled Anna right Infront of him and this got him angry…

 

“I don’t know you and point of correction she’s my wife to be and I would advise you apologize to her right now!” He growled angrily and the lady flinched back in fear ..

 

She had known Lucas to be a cold hearted person but this was the first time she’d seen him raised his voice in anger…

 

She was the daughter of his business partner and she’d always wanted Lucas for herself but her father insisted she take things slow..

 

There’s absolutely no way she was gonna give up on him..

 

“Oops my bad, I didn’t know Lord Lucas had a fiancee.” She sounded polite on the outside but Anna could see they were all fake…

 

There was something about the lady that gets him irritated and not to mention her cologne which almost made her dizzy..

 

“It’s fine.” Anna smiled faintly but Lucas wasn’t someone who takes things lying down…

 

“May I ask why the daughter of Fredric is here?” His cold eyes send shivers down her spine..

 

“I’m sorry for interrupting your time with your Fiancee , I was hoping we could talk..” she clenched the hem of her dress really tight it could actually ruin the dress..

 

She’d purposely dressed seductively and attended the ball in high hopes that he was gonna notice her but who knew he was gonna introduce another woman as his fiancee..

 

She was burning with rage and jealousy inside but choose not to show it…

 

“Sorry to disappoint you but I’m not free.. if you have something important to say kinda set up an appointment with my secretary..” He bluntly refused to talk to her and it felt like a bucket of water had been poured on her head…

 

Her legs had gone weak but she managed to control herself and faked a smile..

 

“Okay thank you for your time..” she needed to leave the place else her elegant image which she’d build for years would come crumbling down..

 

“You were too harsh on her. ” Anna didn’t mind the face slapping but also felt like Lucas was rather too harsh…

 

“I’m not a two timer.” She almost choked on her saliva after hearing his reply…

 

She decided not to say anything and just pay attention to the event..

 

“Wait here I’ll be right back.” He planted a kiss on her cheek and walked towards the crowd..

 

Anna unconsciously brought her hand to her cheek and wondered why she was blushing..

 

It was only a peck on the cheeks nothing much plus she didn’t understand why he was being extra sweet tonight..

 

While She was thinking about the kiss she suddenly heard a familiar voice and her eyes landed on the breathtaking man on the stage.

 

“Good evening everyone I’m sorry for interrupting your fun , I wanted to quickly do something special else I won’t be able to find the right time..” he paused and glanced at the crowd Infront of him before locking eyes with the woman at the back…

 

“I wanted to make it a special proposal but I just couldn’t wait anymore..” he spoke and unhurriedly walked towards the crowd and they immediately cleared a path for him…

 

Annabelle stayed rooted to the spot as she wondered what he was up to ..

 

 

 

Everyone was silent as they watch the most powerful speak in a tender voice..

 

“It’s not what I feel for you. It’s what I not feel for anyone.. but you!” He spoke with each step he takes as he drew closer to her..

 

Annabelle was nervous as hell but couldn’t find the right word to say no matter how hard she tried…

 

She didn’t know if he actually cast a spell on her but she couldn’t seem to look away..

 

 

 

“The way I see you is like the way I see the stars, far but still beautiful.” He took another step closer..

 

“Love is just a word until someone comes along and gives it meaning.”

 

“Nothing is perfect, but when I’m with you everything is perfect.” He got closer and went down on one knee and took out a ring..

 

“Marry me Miss Annabelle Ross?”
