EPISODE 18.

 

“Of course not Grandfather, Lucas is always good to me .” Anna felt a bitter taste on her tongue when she said the word..

He was no where good..

“You’re much prettier in person. Lucas indeed has good eyes.” Chairman Ming jested happily and Anna smiled..

All this while Lucas was holding her by the waist and surprisingly he doesn’t feel repulsive to her touch..

All his life he has never been close to any woman because he finds their touch repulsive and also their colognes was enough to drive him mad…

“Hm.. I do have great taste.” Lucas nodded and looked into her eyes lovingly..

Unbeknownst to them there was someone staring at them with a complicated expression..

She clenched her fist really tight and almost broke the glass in her hand..

A strange glint flashed through her eyes too quick for anyone to notice and smirked mockingly..

“Your skin looks smooth and spotless, may I know what skincare products you use?” One of the businessmen standing close to chairman Ming spoke..

It seems Annabelle wasn’t someone they would wanna mess with. It was obvious the old man favoured the mysterious lady and it won’t be a bad idea to be suck up to her..

Anna smiled Shyly and tucked a strand of her hair behind..

Her skincare products were all from the CL group which was also a company owned by Lucas Caine..

Telling them it’s from his company would also mean she was praising him..

The short time Lucas had spent with her , he’d recognized the Scent and naturally know it’s something from his company..

“I only use products from CL.” She flashed the a spell blinding smile..

They murmured among themselves and nodded their heads in approval..

They won’t forget to make their families buy skin care products from the company too.

“Lord Lucas indeed has found his true soul mate.. you guys look so great together..” a businesswoman who have been silent for awhile spoke while smiling at Anna..

Anna knew all the smiles they were showing her were fake and it’s only because the Eldest grandson of the Ming Family favoured her..

“Enough of the chit chat everyone let’s all enjoy ourselves for the main event was yet to come..” Chairman Ming was grinning from ear to ear and Anna was sure the old man was up to something..

“If you all don’t mind I’ll like to take my fiancee away.” Lucas’s voice was cold and domineering they were always scared of him..

“Sure!”

Anna gave a curt nod and followed Lucas to a secluded spot so they could have some private time..

There’s one thing he noticed while being with Annabelle..

She might be a petty thief but doesn’t want his money so he was sure there was another reason why his grandfather wanted him to marry her..

Anna heaved a sigh of relief when they were away from the crowd..

She was so nervous while standing in the mist of influential people she never dreamt of meeting…

“I trust you sold my watch at a reasonable price?” She almost flinched when she heard his voice so close to her ear..

She gulp down nervously but tried not to look nervous..

Yes she’d indeed taken his watch and sold it because asking him for money would only worsen the situation was in ..

 

“Fine I’m sorry I needed the cash badly.” She was right.. Anny wanted to attend a prestigious College and her mom’s salary was never gonna be enough to cover the tuition fee..

The closing date was close and she couldn’t bear to see her Little sister sad so she did what she knows how to do best..

“You should have come to me… ” He whispered and she could feel his hot breath against her skin..

She shivered slightly when his lips brushed her cheek.. anyone who saw them at the moment would think they were making out…

“Why should I come to you for my problems huh? It’s like we’re close or anything.” She cursed under her breath but instead getting angry he only smiled..

“Silly, I’m your husband to be and it’s only right you come to me for help.” He tucked a strand of her hair behind and his eyes fell on her lips..
