Sola got off work early after his boss called for a personal meeting with him. He drove quietly to the restaurant listening to the music that bursts through the speaker of his car.

It has been months since the kidnapping incident and things had fallen into place for him.

The children he had rescued that day, turns out to be the grandchildren of a close friend to the CEO of Kent Limited.

This good deed of Sola had given him the opportunity to, not only meet with Mr. Olabidemi Kent Olaniyan, but also gotten him to one of the high seats in the company.

Mr. Olaniyan took Sola in, and assisted him in every way possible. He was always treated differently.
Sola didn’t fail to show how grateful he was as he worked with diligence, not trying to tarnish the image he made for himself.

Sola walked into the expensive looking restaurant after parking. He seem to have grown used to places like this.
Mr. Kent watched the young man approach his table, a smile forms on his lips as they both exchanged pleasantries.

A huge surprise awaits the young man.

Sola has been a blessing to him as he seem to always come up with the best ideas and gave needful suggestions which aided the growth of his company.

He owe it to his best friend to take good care of the young man as he would, his son.

Mr. Olaniyan then told Sola of the new branch he would be launching the next few weeks. Sola informed him that it was announced that morning at the office.

“ Well, were you told you would be managing it?”

His eyes widen in shock as he looks at the older man.

Was this a joke .

Mr. Kent doesn’t look like he was playing.

Sola blinked rapidly to be certain it wasn’t a dream. To be sure his ears heard right.

The old man laughed at his reaction before announcing his departure.
“ I still have things to do”

Sola snapped out of his shell shock a began thanking the man profusely.
For everything.

————————————————–

He looked out his window and stared into the night sky, this time, a smile on his face.
Things turns out to be going really well for him. He had even met an old friend on his way home that day.

Julius had been his best friend since elementary school. They basically did everything together.

Everything turned upside-down the day his parents were arrested. They were all being stalked by strangers and were sent life-threatening messages. They were insulted and called names all over the net.

Julius’ parents traveled him out of the State to prevent their son from having anything to do with Isaac or his family.

They had said they had always wanted Julius to school at their State of origin.

Both parents were never close anyway, only their boys were.

His mother was released few days later while his father remained in jail. He recalled the first and only time he ever visited.

Sola snapped out of his thoughts.

It’s all gone now.

He sighs, looking, one last time, at the peaceful heavens and retired to bed.

He couldn’t wait for the following day to come. The two friends planned the catch-up on the old times they never had.

TBC.
