Ligaya has been busy all through the day, she signed documents upon documents and attended three seminars where she was the guest speaker. She also attended a board meeting at a well known fashion company where she was an investor and brand ambassador…

“Why’s my schedule always tight”she said as she reviewed another document…a business proposal from a famous company in Italy. The door to her office swung open and Mimi came in

“Ma’am do you remember LEE TECH?” Mimi asked and ligaya nodded

“What about them?”

“They gave us the contract”Mimi smiled

“So…”ligaya gave Mimi a questioning look

“We’re going to work with them on their new project…”Mimi said and ligaya nodded

“So how’s the building in south Korea going?”ligaya asked

“Well the contractor said it’s just the furnishing left…so we’ll be moving there maybe next week”Mimi said

“Ok…I have one simple task for you”ligaya whisper

“At your service ma’am”

“Before we move to Korea,I need you to gather informations about a particular family for me”

“Which family is that?”Mimi asked and ligaya leaned forward to whisper the name of the family. Mimi wore a questioning look after hearing the name

“Why?”

“Mimi if you’re tired of your job just tell me and i’ll relief you of your duties i promise” her statement made Mimi scared

“No ma i’ll do it… i’ll just inform Desmond about it so he can do the research” she said

“Good! You can leave now”ligaya said, Mimi bowed and started leaving but she was stopped by ligaya’s voice

“But Incase you still want to know why I want their their info… they were once a family friend of my best friend”ligaya smiled as she returned to the document she was working on. Mimi didn’t stop wondering…

‘A family friend of my best friend? How funny’ she thought.

Sunshine villa, Florida… America (8:00pm)

Ligaya dragged her tired feet on the floor. The noises she kept hearing from the living room made her pause for a while

“Uncle Liam my Kiara’s sick” rosella’s cute little voice said… wait! What’s Liam doing here?!

“Oh you should have said that earlier so i could take her to the hospital… it’s late already. But don’t worry, i’ll call doctor Lawrence to come treat her tomorrow ok” Liam said

‘how funny… Liam and rosella won’t stop making me laugh’ ligaya smiled as she walked in announcing her presence to them

“Mummy!”rosella rushed to hug ligaya

“Baby…”ligaya had to bend to her height just to hug her

“How’s school today?”she asked

“School was fine and i got 10 in a 40 minutes test”rosella smiled

“Wow! I knew you were smart… I’m so proud of you baby” ligaya rubbed her cheeks gently…Liam just admired mother and daughter

“Have you had dinner?”

“No mum i wanted to eat with you” ligaya stood upright facing Liam who’d been starring

“So what are you doing here?” She asked

“I heard you’re planning to move your head office to Korea?”Liam said

“Yes… How does that answer my question?”

“Come on ligaya stop being too uptight, loosen up a bit”Liam pleaded

“Well i’ll have dinner first,am starving”she said and walked to the dinning table with rosella in her… she had to invite Liam over to the dinning because of rosella.

Rosella slept off immediately after dinner so ligaya took her to bed then came back to meet Liam in the living room

“So why are you here?”she asked again

“You’ll be moving out soon so I thought of coming over to say bye”Liam said nervously

“Am not leaving yet so…”

“Yes i know but am going to miss you badly”Liam said that with all the courage left in him

“You can come with me then…”she winked at him making his heart flutter. If only she knew what she just did could give him instant cardiac arrest

“Come on stop flirting with me am being extra serious”

“You need to go home Liam it’s 10pm already”she got up and was about leaving when Liam held her arm,he made her turn to face him. Their face was not up to a meter apart

“Ligaya why are you doing this?”he asked looking into her eyes

“Hey… two steps apart please, we’re too close”she tried moving away but he held her tighter

“Am not letting you move even one inch away from me.”he said

“Ligaya I love you… please give me a chance in your life”he pleaded

“Liam…I really am grateful for the love, care and assistance you and your family showed me and my daughter. You’ve been a father figure to rosella and made me believe i can do extra-ordinary things. You and your family made me who i am today and am grateful… but am sorry i can’t return your feelings, I really am”she said and stepped away from him before turning to leave

“Why? Why can’t you trust me? Why can’t you give me a chance? I won’t abandon you I promise…”he pleaded with tears rolling down his cheeks

“Am so sorry…” She finally said and walked away. Liam couldn’t move an inch,he sat on the floor and kept crying.

“Why? Why me?” I thought out loud.
