Chapter 53

(Who is the Mole?)

“Mia” Ariel gasp letting go of Aiden, who stood, puzzled. Fluid of tears could be seen in Mia’s eyes as she ran out immediately

“Oh my God…I need to go after her…” Ariel muttered, but Aiden held her back

“What are you doing, let go of my hand” She yelled

“What’s going on, why was she in tears” he asked, but she yanked her hand of, tears already welling up in her eyes

“I betrayed her, you can’t understand. I need to leave now” She snapped further. But he held her still

“Shh….hey calm down, I know you are kinda hurt, or you might have hurt her in one way or the other that I don’t get, but don’t go after her now. Your quarrel might excavate. Give her time to cry out whatever is in her mind and later on, speak with her. I don’t want any of you to get yourselves hurt, remember the rules of this place” he stated. She calmed down a bit, getting his point. Mia has gotten everything wrong; and might not listen to her right now. She will just wait till she is fine enough to speak. But the thing she is worried of is about her not hurting herself

“Just calm down” Aiden spoke out. He knew something was wrong but doesn’t know what that was. He will just have to find out after Ariel is ready to speak. He tried hugging her but she didn’t allow him to; he just had to leave her alone.

“I will take my leave now, thanks for the drink” She muttered slightly. He nodded with a sad look

“Are you sure you are ok to move back to your lounge or you want my guard to escort you? “

“No I’m fine…thanks” And with that, she ran out of the lounge towards hers.

Mia ran directly to the garden, her eyes filled with sadness, pain and anger. She wasn’t expecting Ariel to betray her that way. She loved her so much and they both promise not to keep things from each other. Despite the fact that she knows about Aiden liking Ariel, she still went ahead to confirm from Ariel, but she lied to her, and that is what is breaking her heart more.

After Ariel told her about going to meet Aiden, she decided to follow behind, just to satisfy her curiosity. She knew she wasn’t doing the right thing by stalking her friend, but she just couldn’t stand the fact that Ariel also loves Aiden. She wanted to confirm something and found it. Ariel k**sed Aiden, now she knows where she stands.

“Mia…Mia what’s wrong” Jack asked, coming to sit beside her. He saw her running towards the garden in tears and that made him go after her, wondering why she will be in tears.

“Don’t touch me, get out” She yelled at him. He looked at her eyes which was as red as blood. He could see her pain, and this will be the first time he is seeing her this way. Who could have made her this way, he thought

‘Mia what’s wrong…please speak to me” he pondered but she shut him off

“I don’t want to speak to anyone, I need to be alone, get lost” she screamed.

“Hey..hey…shh…don’t make a scene okay…I will leave, but if you need a shoulder to cry on, just now that I’m here for you” he cooed. She glared hard at him, making him turn to leave. She watched his exiting figure and busted into another round of tears.

“Why is love being this cruel to me” she thought, groaning hard as she slumps on the bench.

Ariel’s POV

“Hmm…what am I gonna do now. How I wish Mia will understand me, this is the first time I will be having strange feelings for guys. But I can’t really point out who I feel love for. Why are these two brothers getting into my head? Why can’t I just choose one, why did I lie to Mia in the first place?

“You didn’t lie to her, if you had told her about liking Aiden, what if you ended up not liking him any longer. That would have been another crisis. She might think you didn’t want her for him and decided to come in the way” My subconscious stated.

“No no..this is all wrong. I will need to seek Mia’s forgiveness and explain things fully to her. I need to be the good friend this time. I can’t keep on living in the dark. I don’t want all these feeling to take over the real me. I will have to let go of it and let fate decide for me. But right now, I need my friend.

~Red Fox Clan~

“How is she now Doc” Macho asked the clan doctor in charge of Nora. They are actually in her ward, he and dragon. Nora was striped to her last cloth, only a piece of white hospital garment was used in covering her nudity.

“Part of her body has been eaten up by the acid, starting from her upper region. From my little research, I believe it didn’t really affect her legs because it was not applied there, or perhaps just little.” The doctor explained

“So you mean that she came in contact with a dangerous acid, but how? Because she was perfectly fine the previous day and even before the meeting commenced” Macho scoffs. The doctor shrug

“It doesn’t look like a fresh acid, I think it’s been mixed with something else, perhaps a body lotion or ointment. That delayed it effect until when it started inching her; this acid is quite different from the other. It doesn’t take fast action, but actually deadlier”

“Hmm, then we will have to check her things then. When will she wake up?” he asked

“Don’t know yet, we had to inject her in order to treat her properly, perhaps in few hours time” The doctor muttered. Macho rubs his temple; is it that some of his clan member are getting on each other, or perhaps an enemy is their mist, he thought. He looked at Nora’s skin and sigh

“Will she survive this” he asked. The doctor simply shook his head before speaking

“I don’t think so, except God’s grace. She can’t speak as well, her health rate is deteriorating”

“Fine, just do your best Doc..let’s get out of here” he said to dragon, as they walk out of the ward. The doctor sighs, shaking his head

“And that was all that happened” Brittany muttered, as Jane gasp. She just finished explaining to Jane what had been going on these past days about her mission in finding who tried to ki*ll her

“Hmm, then you need to be really careful. And I think we need to pay Nora a visit. A secret visit” Jane smirked

“And how are we gonna do that, without the doctors knowing that we came there” Brittany asked, perplexed. Jane smirked

“Leave that to me” She winked

“Brittany….boss needs you now” Macho’s body guard came towards them to pass the message. She stood up and followed him after giving Jane a sign

“Why do you think he need me…any problem” She ask the guard as they walk down the corridor

‘Nothing much, perhaps some questions and to check your suite”

“My suite?”

“Yea….Nora’s things”

“Oh…yea….” She simply stated, walking along as he leads the way.

“I sent some men to check out Nora’s things and ermm….asked the doctor to carry out a test on some of these body product. He found out the acid in the body lotion” Macho stated, staring intently at Brittany who wasn’t moved by his stare. She shrugs

“But the amazing thing in our search is that, you both use the same body lotion. And I know you Brittany, this is not the usually body lotion you make use of, am I right” he asked. Right now, they are in his suite, with some other top clan members, including Brad

“Yes..that’s right”

“Then why are you using this, and why is the acid not in yours” he flipped the lotion in front of her

“Because, she gave me the lotion”

“When was that?”

“Few days ago…she said her boyfriend got it for her and she decided to give me one out of it” She stated. He scoffs

“The last time I checked, you two don’t really get along, then why giving you a gift”

“Yes…I was also stunned that day, but had to accept it”

“Who do you say got it or her…”

“Her boyfriend”

“Who is her boyfriend in this clan?”

“George” Brad replied him

“Get me George…” he yelled as his guard hurried out to get him. He knew something was wrong somewhere, someone is trying to get back at him by hurting his members. But the person is taking his or her time, not making a swift move. First, it was Oscar, who was mysteriously killed in the clan, without a clue up till now. There must be a mole in the clan, he thought. George was brought forward, and made to kneel before Macho. He rose up the cream towards his face, as George watch, clearly stricken with fear. He doesn’t know what is going on

“Recognize this?” Macho asked. He shook his head

“No…”

“Shut the f**k up, you bought this for your girlfriend isn’t it”

“No…I don’t know what you are talking about, I didn’t give this to Nora, I didn’t…I don’t understand, what’s going on” He asked, and given a hard slap from Macho

“Don’t question me” Macho yelled

“I’m sorry boss”

“Don’t f**king beg me….are you the mole in this clan”

“No boss…I’m not….i didn’t give it to her”

“Boss…” Someone else called. It was Brad. Everyone stopped to look at him, including Brittany

“Boss, he wouldn’t be the one. George hasn’t been around for a while now; you sent him and scorpion on a mission, which he arrived about two days ago. Brittany here clearly stated the day she was given the cream, meaning George was not even back from the mission as at that time. Let’s look at it this way, if the cream was meant for Nora, she wouldn’t have shared it, perhaps it was meant for Brittany and she mistakes it to be hers.”

“What are you insinuating” Mach growled

“What I am trying to say is that Nora might be walking in hand with the mole; remember that someone tried to ki*ll Brittany during our past mission, perhaps they are back for her using Nora.” Brad explained, an inward smile came on Brit’s face as she watched him speak. She won’t stop loving this guy, he is so smart

“And how sure are you that it was given to Brit by Nora and not the other way round” Dragon, the second in command asked as Brit frown

“Because I wasn’t the only one in the room that day, Jane was there with me. She is a witness” Brittany defended with a smirk

“One witness is not enough” Dragon spoke up, giving a deadly grin

“I saw her too; Nora was coming out from a hidden place holding a plastic bag. I tried, you know, flirting with her so as to get one things from the bag but she shush me off, saying that it’s for her and her roomie.” Another member defended her. Brittany heaves a sigh of joy. Dragon is getting on her nerves again

“Fine….if all that you said are true, then you are free to leave Brittany. I think you also need more guards, we need to get those who are trying an attempt on your life” Macho spoke up

“Guards, she is a fighter, does she even need guards” Dragon scoffs

“She is my girl Dragon, get that” macho resorted. He just shrugs.

“Hey wait…listen to this guys….why is it that the cream didn’t have its effect on Nora when she first used it. Remember that she got is few days ago, meaning she would have used out of it, why didn’t it affect her skin. Don’t tell me she didn’t rub the cream until this morning” Dragon smirk, as everyone turned to look at her. Her heart began to pound hard.

“Perhaps she hasn’t finish the old lotion and decided to try out the new one today. And whereas Brittany was also using her former cream until some days ago” Brad replied Dragon, who glared hard at him.

“I’m gonna give you the best love making this night” Brittany thought in her heart, as it fluttered. Brad just saved her again

“And why the hell are you speaking for her, idiot” Dragon yelled

“Let her go Dragon….we will sort this out ourselves” Macho resorted.

“Get me Jane, we need to hear her own witness” he said to his guard

“Yes….boss”

He faced the remaining men

“Nora can’t talk now…but we need her to be revived first; only she can tell the whole truth” he muttered as they all nodded in affirmation.
