EPISODE 09.

 

 

 

At first Lucas Caine wanted to ruin the blind date because instilling fear into the heart of the lady but what he got was a money lover..

 

No matter how intimidated she was she never shows it..

 

“I have to be persistent.” He picked up the napkin and wiped his lips clean..

 

“Okay.. now that you know I have no intention of marrying you can you stop all this and just let me go?” Anna was slowly beginning to hate him…

 

“Who says I have no intention of marrying you? Agreeing to the blind date and also playing hard to get is a stupid move. You wanted to cling to a big thigh and I’m simply letting you do that. There’s a limit to my patience.” Annabelle couldn’t believe that was how he saw her…

 

Well she didn’t blame him for thinking that way..

 

“I’m not playing hard to get.” She took a deep breath..

 

Lucas clearly remembered the look on her face after receiving money the other day his driver almost ran into her..

 

He couldn’t understand why his grandfather choose someone like her to be his bride.

 

“I wondered how much you were paid to come here. Let me make one thing clear, you and I will get married and it would be on my terms and not on any stupid Love or whatever you call it.. ” his harsh words crushed her insides and she couldn’t find the right to say..

 

 

 

He stood up unhurriedly and smiled softly..

 

Amidst that smile she could see disdain in his eyes..

 

“We’ll be in touch Miss Ross.” With that being said he walked away..

 

Anna completely lost her appetite after listening to his words.

 

Getting married to someone this cold is the Same as going to hell.

 

Now she understands why he was being called the smiling devil..

 

“Aissh!” She cursed out loud and picked up his Lamb chops and helped herself..

 

He barely ate his food and Anna knows how expensive the restaurant was so she had no other options but to finish up the rest of the food..

 

“That imbecile!” She mumbled with a mouthful..

 

She couldn’t believe she felt sorry for someone this annoying.

 

 

 

“I want every single detail of that lady in my email now!” Lucas commanded immediately he got into his car..

 

“Right away boss.” Sebastian his driver replied and turned on the ignition..

 

Lucas closed his eyes while rubbing his temple..

 

No matter how hard he thinks of it, he couldn’t understand why his grandfather choose her..

 

He was certain there was something fishy going on and he was determined to find it..

 

“Head back to the company.” He mumbled under his breath loud enough for his driver to hear..

 

 

 

Once she was done with the meal she stood up and also left the restaurant. She couldn’t believe she dressed up nicely only to be disgraced once again..

 

“What were you expecting Anna?” She mumbled inwardly and flagged down a taxi..

 

Once inside the taxi she took out her phone and found several texts messages from her mom and her employer.

 

She decided to answer her mom first.

 

“How did it go dear?” She heaved a sigh and began typing..

 

“We’ll talk when I get home.” After replying her mom , she opened the text from an unknown user..

 

 

 

“For trying to act smart I’m gonna receive a punishment soon.” She knew who that message was from but couldn’t reply..

 

How did she find out about their conversation in the booth?

 

For some reason her heart began to beat really fast as she wondered what her punishment would be like..

 

“Can you please drive faster?” She told the driver who immediately stepped on the gas..

 

She getting really anxious at each passing seconds..

 

Soon she arrived at her house and paid the driver immediately before rushing through the front porch.

 

“Mom!” She called but there was no one home.

 

She quickly took out her phone and called her mom..

 

“Mom are you okay?” Anna asked the moment the call got connected..

 

“Thank goodness you called, I was about to give a call.” She could sense the sadness in her mom’s voice..

 

“What’s wrong mom? Did something happened?”

 

“Anny had an accident.”
