CHAPTER SIXTY FIVE.

It’s been a month since Xavier had been in a coma and Gabrielle had been taking care of him. She would tell him about her day and also read books to him.

The doctors in charge of his health were relieved to find out he was showing signs of improvement.

Turns out Lord Xavier’s wife was scarier than her husband.. she’d threatened to revoke their license if her husband doesn’t wake up soon.

Gabrielle had fallen Asleep beside her husband due to exhaustion that she failed to see his fingers moved..

Xavier tried to open his eyes but it felt like thousands of needle was piercing holes on his head.

His eyes fluttered open but he could still feel the pain from his head and abdomen.

He looked at around the room and the beeping sound of the machine convinced him he was at a hospital.

His eyes landed on the sleeping figure and frown. She sat down on a chair beside his bed and placed her head on the bed.

It was an uncomfortable position to sleep in.

“Wifey….” He called out but it came out more like a whisper for his voice was hoarse and sultry.

He sighed softly and moved to a sitting position gently before stroking her hair.

“I must have gave you quite the scare..” he mumbled under his breath and closed his eyes to push back his emotions.

Her lips were dry and porched like she haven’t been taking care of herself.

“Wifey…” He called out and this time Gabrielle opened her eyes immediately.

“Hm?” She answered absentmindedly as she rubbed her eyes but gasps when she realized who’d called out to her.

She turned to his direction and met with his eyes… His eyes were filled with love and concern as he looked at her. Gabrielle was happy, dumbstruck and emotional.

“Babe?” She touched his face and Xavier closed his eyes savoring the feeling of her palm against his skin..

How he missed that so much.

“Did I scare you love?” He whispered and Gabrielle threw herself into his arms and burst into tears , letting everything she’d held back for one month fall..

She was So happy and didn’t even know what to say.

“Ssh it’s okay let it all out my love I’m here now.” He stroked her hair gently and planted a kiss.

“I missed you so much I was afraid you won’t come back to me… I don’t know if I could ever Live without you.. please don’t do that anymore, don’t put yourself in danger anymore.. I won’t be able to forgive myself should anything happens to you…” Gabrielle unconsciously mumbled everything in her heart…

Xavier’s felt his heart broke into tiny pieces as he listened to his wife complaints.

“I’m sorry my love I won’t do anything stupid..” he kissed her forehead and they stayed that way.

“Don’t ever do that again.. don’t do that to me and our baby Xavier..” Gabrielle had stopped crying but didn’t let go of him .

“I love you okay? I won’t ever leave you alone.” She raised her head to stare into his eyes to be sure she wasn’t dreaming and claimed his lips in a slow passionate kiss.

They both poured out their hearts into the kiss that Gabrielle forgot he was a patient and accidentally touched his wounds.

A groan escaped his lips.

“Oops I’m sorry I got carried away.. I should call the doctor.” She pulled away immediately and looked at him to be sure she didn’t hurt him.

“I’m fine you don’t have to worry..” Xavier assured her but Gabrielle wasn’t having it.

“Says the person who have been in a coma for a long time.” She gave him a disapproving look and He began to wonder how long he’d been sleeping.

“How long have I been asleep for?” He asked.

“You’ve been in a coma for a month now.” Gabrielle told and summoned the doctor using the emergency bell.

Xavier didn’t say anything and just closed his eyes for he was feeling dizzy at the moment.
