Chapter 6

Anastasia p.o.v

For the first time I was in a rush to get to work.

And I was going to be early to, which isn’t like me.

I was shoving my stuff in my bag as I tried to find my keys.

It’s my fault that I can’t find anything because my room is such a mess, but sometimes I’m barely here.

It’s been three days since I have been back at my apartment.

I walked out of my room and locked my door.

“Anastasia !”

I said nothing as I turned around.

My roommate was sitting on the couch, hiding something in her pocket, but I already know what it is.

I didn’t know this when we moved in together, but she is a drug addict.

And I give her money for groceries but she buys cocaine with it.

I told her I wasn’t okay with it, but she doesn’t listen.

I am close to kicking her out.

” What is it Melisa?”

” are you going somewhere?” She turned around on the couch to look at me.

” Work!”

” You have never go this early.”

” I got things to do Melisa.” I sighed as I walked passed her on the couch.

” You still owe me money, and I’m waiting for it.” I turned to her so she knows I wasn’t playing.

” I will get it.”

She has been saying that for a month.

I moved abruptly, raising my fist up like I was going to fight her, and she flinched quickly at my gesture.

Clearly she was scared but not enough to get me my money.
I can’t wait to kick her out.

” You are an as$hole.” She muttered but I heard her

It’s not my fault that I’m aggressive and have a temper. This job stresses me out, and I’m not exactly moral with people who don’t pay me. Sometimes I don’t even have enough for my bills, so a little pick pocketing can’t hurt.

I have a history of fighting.

” Get me my money and then we can talk.” I said as I left the apartment.

Melisa gets on my nerves.

What is worse is that rent isn’t cheap, so when she doesn’t pay on time, I have to handle it. The only reason I haven’t kicked her out yet, is because she takes care of everything else when she does get the money. She just doesn’t pay me back. She owes me a lot of money for helping her out of drug problems, and I’m still waiting on it.

One thing about me, is that I don’t like it when people mess with my money. I need to save what I can, because I have plans. I’m not going to be a stripper all my life.

I’m only twenty, and I would actually like to go to college. That was the plan all along.

After my parents died, they did left some money for me, but I used it to pay off the house and everything else that there was.
