MADALITSO – Finale episode 14

Veronica: calm down Linda, maybe you’re just imagining things no human in their right sense could ever do that

Linda: I’m not imagining things, it’s a head and it’s Michael’s and there’s a note saying he needs his daughter back. I’m sure it’s Robert

Veronica: what are you going to do concerning Madalitso?

Linda: I’m still going to ki*ll her, I can’t go down alone

Veronica: I’ve told the doctor to meet her at my boutique so we can go to the place

Linda: great move

Veronica: what of Taonga?

Linda: I’m sure she’s safe wherever she is

Veronica: meet me at Mrs Musonda’s then we can go to mom’s village with Madalitso

Linda: I’m on my way

She started packing her belongings while shaking and crying, the odour from the parcel she’d received was so strong that she couldn’t handle it any longer so she puked then wrapped the parcel and ordered one of her guards to dispose of it with a strict warning not to open it then she grabbed her bag and went to her car. She kept trying to calm down as she would cause an accident with the state she was in.

Lindiwe: I spotted the place Agent33 spoke of and I’ll be visiting the woman

Robert: I still think you need to go with someone

Lindiwe: No, I’ll be fine

Robert: alright then Agent69, you can wipe her accounts clean now

Agent69: yes boss

He did as was instructed then Robert called Linda and put the phone on loudspeaker then Linda picked up and sounded like she was running out of breath

Robert: sis in law

Linda: Ro…Robert

Robert: so you haven’t forgotten of my existence but still go ahead and mess with my flesh and blood

Linda: I…..I…

Robert: so are you ready to surrender my daughter back to me and meet your ancestors?

Linda: not that easy, you don’t know what will hit you loser

Robert: ohhh!!! so you’re still kicking? Pray to your God that Lindiwe gets to you first otherwise I’ll crush you like the cockroach that you are

Linda: you’ll come begging to me on your knees to spare your useless lives

Robert: we’ll see about that (he hang up)

Lindiwe: I’m taking my leave

Robert: good luck sweetheart

They hugged and she took her black BMW car keys and drove away

Linda finally got to Mrs Musonda’s shrine and threw herself in Veronica’s arms crying then they took off their shoes and entered, they exchanged greetings with Mrs Musonda

Mrs Musonda: Linda, your biggest rival is here and….

Linda: tell me something I don’t know

Mrs Musonda: I wasn’t done

Linda: I’m listening

Mrs Musonda: NEVER STEP FOOT HERE AGAIN, DEAL WITH YOUR OWN PROBLEM AND DON’T INVOLVE ME

Linda: you must be kidding me because not so long ago I was threatening Robert knowing very well that you’d give me something to……..

Mrs Musonda: I warned you beforehand, didn’t I? I told you to carefully think about killing your own mother and making your stupid decision of building that chicken run you own but you thought the world revolved around your useless self now look at you looking much older than your late mother. You’re going down and I’m not going down with you so pay me my balance and never return here

Veronica: Mrs Musonda, this isn’t the kind of person I know you to be

Mrs Musonda: you’ll pay her debt since you’re her friend because I can tell that she doesn’t have a dime in her name

Linda: please Mrs Musonda remember I’m your daughter

Mrs Musonda: No, you killed your mother when you thought you were Michelle Obama now…..

Her eyes were focused on the door with her mouth wide open then Linda and Veronica followed the direction of her eyes only to land on Lindiwe who was dressed in all black leaning against the door and patting her left foot with folded arms. Linda couldn’t believe it and she looked like the older one then Lindiwe approached them and took out a bottle then poured it all on Veronica’s abdominal area, the acid instantly tore her clothes off and ate up her skin as she gasped for air then she took out another bottle and poured it on the exposed intestines and chest area making it the end for Veronica. Lindiwe grabbed Linda and took out a knife from her pocket and started making marks on her face while she had her pinned against the wall. Mrs Musonda saw that as her opportunity to run away but Lindiwe let go off Linda and charged towards Mrs Musonda giving Linda chance to escape, she pounced on Mrs Musonda who fell on the floor and strangled her neck

Lindiwe: tell me everything that she did and is planning on doing

Mrs Musonda sang like a canary and Lindiwe was shocked by some of the things her sister did

Lindiwe: she did all that with your help, right? (tightening the grip)

Mrs Musonda: y…ye..yes

Lindiwe: you’re going to die the same way my mother did, you useless witch

She kept tightening the grip until Mrs Musonda took her last breath with her eyes popped out and tongue hanging outside then she spat on her and left

Linda got to Veronica’s boutique and found the doctor mocking Madalitso that she was going to die

Linda: let’s go doc, we’ve got no time

She tied Madalitso’s hands and led her to the car then she drove in high speed

Linda: I hope the doctor here has told you what you’re in for

Madalitso: I’m not afraid for that, that destroys the body but cannot destroy the spirit

Linda: ifyabupuba efyo alandafye (she only speaks nonsense)

Madalitso: killing me has always been your wish but if you don’t repent even hell will reject you

Linda: I think we’re going to have problems here doc, is your tool box nearby?

Doctor: yes it is

Linda: please find something to shut her up

The doctor rolled a tape on her mouth and couldn’t fight him as her hands were tied then Linda received a call from one of her guards and she answered in irritation

Linda: what do you want?

Guard: madam, the police are here closing down the place and……..

Linda: NO, I’VE HAD ENOUGH FOR A DAY WHATS WHAT’S ALL THIS NONSENCE? (she hang up) I think I’ll just sell Robert off to the mafia

Doctor: you know Mr Robert?

Linda: No

She decided to lie because she didn’t want the impossible to happen

Doctor: I would never dream of crossing paths with that man believe me coz…….

Linda: its not the Robert you know so let’s change the topic

Doctor: where are we going to? we’ve passed two towns already

Linda: we’re leaving the province

MADALITSO

I always wondered how people who were told they were going to die felt and I had to experience that, I thought of how I was born, when my parents died, how I grew up with grandma, the dearest memories we shared, the great relationship Peter, Saint,Hector and I had, how I spent sleepless nights fighting with books only to end up in a brothel and die at the age of 20

Me: I’m sorry grandma I can’t keep on fighting fate, I think its high time I joined you and my parents. I can’t carry on like this

I opened my eyes and saw grandma sitted next to me crying and shaking her head

Grandma: yes its time you meet them (she disappeared)

Me: so I guess its the end

I closed my eyes and decided to talk to my creator

Me: God I know that you’ve done nothing but shown love to me from the time I was born and I’ll forever be grateful for that so please accept me in whatever form I’ll reach you in, vengeance belongs only to you my God and I’ll leave you to judge my enemies. In Romans 8:38,39 is written that “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come,nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in creation will be able to separate us from God’s love” Forgive all my sins and receive me with a pure heart and since nothing can separate me from your love, if it’s your will that this happens so let it be AMEN!!!

I felt like I was dreaming because I opened my eyes and the car came to a stop, I had a blurred vision because my eyes were teary so I wiped off my tears and saw a black car parked in front of us blocking our way then Linda cursed and a man I recognized as Mr Patson Kumwenda, the health worker who came to educate us on Cancer stepped out of the car in an expensive suit then Linda took out a matchete knife from the doctor’s tool box and came to my side of the seat grabbing my hair tight and dragging me out, she took me to the front of her car then the doctor joined us and I saw a beautiful woman get out of the other car

NARRATED

Robert: remove that thing from her mouth and let her come to me

Linda: you think I’m stupid?

She pulled the knife closer to Madalitso’s throat

Robert: I swear to cut you into pieces and feed you to the hungry dogs if I reach there without you letting her go

Linda laughed out loud then Lindiwe got in the car and returned with a gun pointed to Taonga’s head

Lindiwe: then I guess it will be an eye for an eye……..

Linda: keep my daughter out of this

Lindiwe: really

Linda: don’t you dare touch my daughter

Lindiwe: you’re so pathetic (she pulled the trigger)

Robert communicated something with Madalitso using his eyes then Madalitso using everything she could clawed Linda’s left eye with her her hands tied making Linda quickly drop the knife and ran towards Robert then Linda tried running after her and Lindiwe shot her right leg and the doctor had wet his pants because of fear then she let Taonga go

Taonga: you shot my mother you bi….

She didn’t finish her sentence because Lindiwe slapped her hard and she saw darkness before landing on the ground, the agents took the doctor, Taonga and Linda away. Madalitso was crying in Robert’s arms and Lindiwe joined the hug

Madalitso: thank you very much Mr Patson

Robert: let’s take you home

They drove to their hotel and led Madalitso to her bedroom, she had just finished dressing up when Lindiwe walked in with a full meal

Lindiwe: you’re looking pretty my baby

Madalitso: thanks for the clothes, they look expensive

Lindiwe: (smiling) come and eat your food

Madalitso sat and started eating

Madalitso: are you Mr Patson’s wife?

Lindiwe: Mr Patson!!!

Madalitso: yes, the man you were with earlier he once came to our school and…..

Lindiwe: (laughing) yes I am

Madalitso: I’m sorry if this will offend you but you act like my grandma and you’re a younger version of her

Lindiwe: I understand, tell me about yourself

Madalitso felt like she could open up to Lindiwe and told her everything she’d been through and they were both in tears when she was done

Lindiwe: she made you go through all that? (Madalitso nodded) don’t worry I’ll always be there for you from now on

Madalitso: who are you?

Lindiwe: I’ll be right back, feel at home. (she left)

Robert was at his warehouse and had Linda tied to a chair as he watched his agent extract the internal organs of the doctor with Linda throwing up and crying which made her look a mess

Robert: take them to hospitals so we can save a useful person’s life rather than this useless thing

Agent67: yes boss

Robert ordered the other agents to take the dead doctor’s body to the room where they had stored Michael, Mrs Musonda and Veronica’s bodies then he turned to face Linda and she was shaking with fear

Linda: I’m sorry Robert, let’s put the past behind us and move on I promise to stay in my lane

Robert laughed out loud

Robert: it won’t be fair for the accomplices to decay while the culprit lives to tell the tale

Linda: please I’ve got a daughter to take care of

Robert: don’t worry, my babe has already already taken care of it

Linda: did she ki*ll her?

Robert: she’s taken her to a mental hospital because she doubted her mental fitness when she tried to call her a b***h

Linda: how could she do that to my daughter?

Robert: if you ask me I think she even deserved worse

Linda: you two are the true definition of wickedness

Robert: we’re just trying to help you by making sure she’s taken care of because you won’t be there to do so

He was focusing his attention on something else all along then the door swung open and Lindiwe walked in with a pestle

Lindiwe: Robert, Robert where’s she?

She didn’t wait for him to respond as she charged towards Linda and kicked her chair and fell together with it and she hit her body with the pestle especially the legs and Robert watched from a distance and was scared because be never approached her when she was like that. Linda couldn’t feel her legs and her upper body felt numb leaving her with bleeding wounds, as if it wasn’t enough she started punching her face and Linda obtained a broken nose, Linda could feel her sister’s rage as she kept yelling saying all the things Madalitso went through then Robert pulled her away when she was a bit calm

Lindiwe: let me go (yelling)

Robert: you need to calm down

She pulled out a gun and shot Linda’s shoulder

Lindiwe: that’s for killing my mother

Robert: you’re calm now?

Lindiwe: yes

Robert: where did you get that thing from?

Lindiwe: I bought it of course, do I own a pestle? you’ll find me in the car and be quick

Robert sedated Linda and wouldn’t make it for the rerest of the day then locked her up together with the other bodies and set the warehouse on fire then left. Linda was making sounds like a dying animal then her mother appeared

Grandma: I told you that your downfall would be like that of a deserted dog now look at you, I’m sure even a deserted dog is much better than you and I’m sure you even envy the way I died. Welcome to the land of the dead!!! (she disappeared)

Lindiwe and Robert showered then went to Madalitso’s room and found her crying then they both hugged her

Lindiwe: it’s all over now my baby

Madalitso: why do you keep calling me that?

Robert: what?

Madalitso: your wife keeps calling me her baby, Mr Patson

Robert: I’m Robert and she’s Lindiwe

Lindiwe: we……we…we’re your parents

Madalitso: my parents died when I was a baby so if you want to adopt me you should do it legally

They explained everything that happened and what made them leave her behind

Madalitso: so you thought the money you sent me was what I needed? I needed your love, care and support all these years. I’ve wasted 3 years of my life working in a brothel thanks to the useless decision you made and you come here claiming you’re my parents. I can survive on my own and don’t need you both I’m leaving leaving this place

Lindiwe was on her knees begging her then Madalitso saw her grandma frowning and asked Lindiwe and Robert to leave then she cried herself to sleep. She dreamt of her grandmother telling her to forgive them but she wasn’t hearing any of it

Grandma: my child to error is human but to forgive is divine

Madalitso: no I can’t mom

Grandma: you have to, that marks the end of the battle

Madalitso: after everything I went through they choose to show up now

Grandma: my child, God gives his strongest battles to his toughest warriors and you’re on of them

Madalitso: I can’t

She woke up

She never spoke to Lindiwe and Robert for a week which broke Lindiwe, one day she found Lindiwe crying and Robert comforting her then she closed the bedroom door

Madalitso: Mom

Lindiwe’s heart leaped with joy

Madalitso: I’m sorry for how I spoke to you the other day

Robert: come here

She approached them and group hugged

Madalitso: I’ve forgiven you

Lindiwe: will you come with us? (she nodded)

Madalitso: I have something to ask from you

Robert: anything

Madalitso: an you make Tapiwa your own

Robert: if its what you want

Tapiwa was located and adopted then flew back Australia where Madalitso met Peter and the other guys, she decided to stay back to study and not go to France then Agent67 and Tapiwa started dating

Years passed and Madalitso graduated from her accounting programme and took over some companies she was offered by both parents and she was engaged by Peter.

They were all gathered in the lounge planning Tapiwa’s wedding and joy filled the room

Madalitso: you’ve been the best parents so far

Lindiwe: and you’re the best daughter

Robert: I love you two

They all hugged
