Chapter 03

At the school campus, 5:00pm**

Lisa together with the Sophia walked in the school campus. They saw a numerous students there too. Each of them chatting with the other.

“Are all these people supernaturals?” Lisa whispered to Sophia.

“No, not at all. There are humans here too. You can distinguish it through the uniform. Well the human thinks that the uniform colors are different because of the social class but little do they know that it’s to know who’s a supernatural.” Sophia whispered back.

“Hi Sophia” A girl waved and passed by.

“Hi Lilly” She waved back too and faced Lisa.

“Also, we have normal classes with them from 8 to 12 and then from 1pm, it’s practice time. The rules here are really complicated. You’ll get to know it with time” Sophia shrugged.

Lisa nodded and faced from as they heard the sound of the bell.

The same person who welcomed them earlier walked upstairs and stood in front of them.

“Welcome to all the new students of Diamond high. We hope your stay here will be peaceful and fruitful. Let me present myself to you all. I’m Michael Devaine and I’m your principal. With time you’ll get to know more about me with the staff and the school but for now, here are some rules and regulations you need to strictly follow.” He spoke and made way for a lady to walk front.

“Oh my gosh…Sir Michael is so cute and handsome. Too bad he’s thousands years old” Sophia pouted.

“He is?” Lisa asked unbelievably and she nodded.

“Yeah, that’s his power. That of immortality.” Sophia replied and looked front again

The lady rolled down a script and cleared her throat…

“Alright, here are the rules and regulations.” She said.

“No 1, The boys and girls hostel are two separate place. No one of the opposite gender is allowed to venture around the boys or girls hostel”

“No 2, From 9pm each student is requested to go back to their respective rooms”

“No 3, The students are free to leave the school and attend to their personal needs but within a time range of an hour.”

“No 4, no bullying. Everyone here is equal and must be treated accordingly”

Lisa chuckled at that rule.

“We’ll see about that one” She said inwardly.

“Good, that’s all you need to know for now. Go on, go back to your respective rooms. Diamond High welcomes you once more.” Michael said with a slight smile on his face.

Lisa and Sophia turned and began walking away.

“Hey cuz” Eric said while walking towards him with two other boys.

“Hi Eric, I can see you’re getting along pretty well with your roommates. Here’s mine, Sophia” She gestured to Sophia.

“Hey guys” Sophia smiled.

“Here’s Romeo and Gideon” Eric said gesturing at them respectively.

“What’s up?” Gideon smiled.

“Hey pretty girls” Romeo said.

“Where’s Connor and Nora?” Lisa asked looking for them.

“We’ll see them later, let’s get going to our rooms. Don’t wanna get into troubles on my first day” Eric said.

They parted ways and went to their respective rooms.

At the local market, 5:23pm**

“Were are we going right now?” Emma asked as her and Kadence were walking along the market.

“You see us at the market and you’re still asking me where we’re going. Unbelievable!” Kadence scoffed.

“Look at her going all sarcastic” Emma scoffed too.

Kadence smiled and looked at her.

“Come on, we’re going to shop for new clothes. Mother gave me money so I can spend on myself” Kadence smiled..

“But… Can’t you save that money and use it when necessary?” Emma said.

“Come on Emma, let’s just enjoy ourselves okay?” Kadence said.

They walked into a local shop and began picking some dresses for themselves, affordable dresses by the way.

“Thanks for the dress Kadence” Emma smiled as they walked back home.

“Oh, it’s no big-”

Someone bumped into her before she could finish her statement. All what Kadence could see on the person was sparkly green eyes.

“Are you okay?” Emma asked.

“Yeah” Kadence kept looking at the figure which was walking away. One could discern that it was a female.

Kadence bent down to pick her things which fell off and furrowed her brows when she saw a poster.

She picked it up and then read it. Her hands flew to her mouth as she gasped in surprise.

“Oh my…Diamond High is offering scholarships!!” She almost screamed.

“What are you talking about” Emma took the poster from her. She read it and she seemed somewhat uncomfortable.

“We have to register and write that exam. It’s our future we’re talking about.” Kadence squealed.

“I’m not so sure about that K-d” Emma mumbled.

“Come on Emma, let’s do it.. Please??” Kadence made her best puppy eyes.

Emma sighed. She knew that school was bad news but well what could she do.

“Alright” She replied.

“Yay!! I’m running back home. Have to inform mother about that” Kadence said and ran away.

“Diamond high…” Emma whispered.

She began walking home too…

Kadence ran into the house breathing heavily…

“Mother” She called, walking to her room. She knocked on the door but got no response so she walked in.

“Are you out of your mind? You just disrupted my beauty sleep” Ximena flared up.

“Sorry mom” She made her cute face.

Ximena sighed. It was really hard to get mad at her anyways.

“What’s it?” She asked sitting up.

Kadence walked to her side and showed her the poster. Ximena read through it and a smile curved on her lips.

“That’s a really great opportunity for you and Zara” Ximena muttered.

“Yeah, can I register. Please?” Kadence said.

“Sure, inform Zara too” Ximena said and laid down with her eyes closed.

“Thanks mom” She stood up and made to leave.

“Kadence, study well and make your parents proud of you” Ximena said and opened her eyes then looked at her.

Kadence smiled…

“Sure, I’ll make you and dad proud of me. I promise” She smiled and walked out of the room, closing the door behind her.

Ximena smiled…

“I said your parents not me and my husband.” She said and chuckled.

“She didn’t understand what I meant” Ximena said and covered herself properly, dozing off.

“Zara, mother asked me to give you this” Kadence handed the poster to Zara.

She glared at Kadence and then snatched it from her. A smiled curved on her painted lips as she read through it.

“Seems interesting. I’m in, finally I’ll get enrolled in a school that’s worth my beauty” She flicked her hair, with pride glaring on her face.

“That is if you pass” Kadence shrugged.

“Are you insinuating that I’ll fail?” Zara frowned.

Kadence shook her head and smiled.

“No sis. You’re so pretty and intelligent. I’m sure you’ll pass” Kadence smiled and went upstairs.

“Is she mocking me” Zara wondered.

Kadence changed to her pajamas and then climbed on her bed.

She closed her eyes and mumbled a prayer before going to bed. She drifted off to sleep immediately…

In the dream~~
“Anyone here?” Kadence called but got no answer.

She looked at her body and she was dressed prettily in a white dress. She smiled as she twirled around.

Her gaze traveled to the right and she saw a shadow standing there, looking at her.

“Who’s that?” Kadence wondered.

Kadence slowly began walking to the direction of the shadow. The shadow seem to walk away.

“Wait” Kadence began running to him. Her gown was kinda disturbing so she scooped it in her hands and kept running after him.

The shadow began disappearing in the fog that was forming.

Kadence stretched her hands and suddenly she found herself in the arms of someone.

She looked up to see the face of the person but he was putting on a mask. It was a man and he was tall and had broad shoulders with long inky black hair that cascades till his neck.

He held her chin and lifted her face up as he started leaning forward.

Kadence stared at him and she felt his hand on her waist. She closed her eyes as her lips were about to meet…

A man spranged up on a king sized bed while breathing heavily.

His inky black hairs covered his face, only his parted lips were visible as he breathed in and out.

“Who’s that girl?” He muttered…
