CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

 

 

Gabrielle arrived at the condo Kathy stayed and found her car still parked in the garage. “I won’t take long.” She told the driver before stepping outta the car and walked towards the exit.

She didn’t bother knocking and just stepped Into her apartment.

“Kathy?” She half yelled and walked towards the kitchen.

Katherine who heard her best friend’s voice whom she thought would never see couldn’t help but think she was hallucinating.

“Kathy are you in here?” She heard the same voice again but this time she listened and rushed outta the kitchen to find Gabrielle also walking towards the kitchen.

“Oh my goodness!” Kathy pulled into a heart felt hug and almost bawled her eyes out.

“Where the f**k have you been Gabby? What really happened that day?” Kathy had so many questions but didn’t even know where to start from.

“Calm down okay? I’m sorry I didn’t tell you anything because I kinda lost my phone.” Gabby pulled away and hugged Kathy again.

“You better start talking right now!” Kathy pulled away and towards the couch with a frown plastered on her forehead.

Gabby chuckled softly and joined her on the couch too.

“Okay first of all I’m sorry for not reaching out on time and also not telling you about my wedding to Lord Xavier Williams.”Gabby said in one breath and Kathy almost choked on her saliva.

 

“You what???????” She was glaring at Gabby for answers immediately.

“Woah calm down okay I can explain.” Gabby assured but Kathy wasn’t having it.

“What do you mean you got to married to Lord Xavier ? The lord Xavier? You were married to Harry remember?” Kathy looked at Gabby with so many questions hovering over her head.

“I never got married to Harry or rather I found the real reason he wanted to marry me so I got married to someone powerful than him.” Gabby decided not to tell her friend about the circumstances around her forced marriage.

Kathy observed her best friend carefully for any leakage of emotions but found nothing.

“Why do I feel like you’re hiding something?” Kathy said with raised eyebrow but Gabby wasn’t gonna come clean.

“Trust me lord Williams is not what you think he’s. He’s a loving and caring partner any woman would wish for.” Gabby almost puked from her terrible lies.

‘loving and caring my a$$.’ her inner self mocked.

“Wow if that’s the case then I would love to meet him soon. You look more beautiful than the last time I saw you so I’m quite satisfied he’s indeed doing a great job.” Kathy finally relented.

“God I’ve missed you so so so much babe.” Gabby squeaked and hugged her again.

“Me too. Come on let’s go have brunch together.”Kathy stood up and pulled Gabrielle towards the kitchen.

The two friends happily prepared lunch without any care in the world.

 

Xavier Williams on the other hand took the car keys from his driver and without another word he drove outta the company garage while turning on the tracking device on his other car.

Drove like a wounded lion rushing to get treated, he broke the speed limit and in no time he arrived at the condo downtown.

 

He found the car parked by a condo with a minimalist exterior Design. He got outta his car and walked towards the driver who was frightened by his presence.

“Where’s she?” He groan and the driver pointed at the condo indicating that she’s inside.

He didn’t say anything more and walked towards the doorbell and rang it impatiently.

The door pulled opened almost immediately and the people at the door almost died from shock.

“Excuse me, is my wife here?” Williams asked calmly and it took a minute for Kathy to calm her beating her.

Was God playing tricks on her or what? First Gabby now Xavier Williams? The devil!

“Who’s that Kat?”Gabby called from the kitchen and Kathy almost burst into ripples of laughters but controlled herself.

 

“Yes she is, why don’t you come in.” Kathy opened the door wide enough for him to come in.

Williams walked into her condo and sat down on the couch unhurriedly and Kathy couldn’t help but praise Gabby for her good taste in men.

“Gabby someone’s here to see you.” Kathy didn’t say his name so she could watch her friend’s reaction.

“Who is tha…” Gabby’s sentence got stuck in her throat when she saw who her visitor was.
