CHAPTER 92

Alexa’s p.o.v

After justin left to get Mitchell, Manuel came in.

I guess Justin asked him to watch over me since he isn’t here.

He stands at a distance until I offer him a seat next to me on the bed.

He gives a small nod of acknowledgement.

He then takes a seat next to me, and strikes up a conversation.

“Hello again Alexa, it’s been a while. ” he says.

His tone is calm and soft, but his face showed something was wrong.

“Yeah, it is good to see you again..” I replied.

He stared off into the distance, his expression changes and contorts as if he is thinking hard about something.

“How long has it been? A month? A month plus?” He finally asked.

I freeze in place.

Millions of thoughts rush through my head.

Yeah, it just a month.

It had really been that long since I saw him in person?

I feel a small shake on my shoulder.

I turned my head and meet Manuel’s gaze, he looked worried but didn’t say anything.

“Manuel….”

“I didn’t expect you to leave Alexa…” He muttered.

I sighed.

I didn’t expect myself to choose leaving either but then again, something in me told me to go.

“I know Manuel. I feel bad for it but I needed time to think. Justin told me to go. I felt like he didn’t want me again. He gave me his permission to leave me and…”

“It’s okay. I understand you. If I was in your shoe. I will do the exact thing you did.”

I nodded.

“Please just don’t leave again. ”

“Why?” I questioned.

“After you left, you were the reason why Justin had to quickly recover. He wanted to search for himself. He missed you. Justin loves you so much although he hardly tells us his friends but we know he does. Ever since you left, I haven’t seen him smile until today. He has suffered a lot. You are his angel. His hope. His happiness. The only person who can help him get a normal life. Alexa please…” He pleaded while kneeling down.

“Manuel it’s okay. You shouldn’t be kneeling down. I have heard you. I won’t go far away from him. ”

He nodded as he stood up.

He told me a lot of funny stories and made me laugh that I even forgot that I was in an hospital.

“Why did you take so long?” I questioned as Justin opened the door.

“I’m sorry. I had to take care of some things. ” Justin apologized.

I nodded as I stared at the door.

“Oh, Mitchell?”

“Yes, where is she?” I asked

“She said she can’t come but she gave me her house key. At first she didn’t believe me but after I showed her that video that you did, she gave me her keys and said I should tell you that she is sorry she can’t come but will meet you at home when she get back.” Justin explained.

“Oh, okay. Can we go now? I don’t like it that I am here at the hospital.”

“Okay ma’am. I will go get the wheelchair.”

“Wheelchair? I can walk I’m not paralyzed.” I informed him.

“The doctor said you shouldn’t stress yourself.”

I cut him off.

“I am just going to walk okay? Besides, I already stressed myself.” I rolled my eyes.

“When?” He asked with his eyes widened.

“The time we had seggs….”

“Oh that? That was just exercise babe.”

“I see. Walking is exercise too.”
