Chapter 18

Wulfgur got to the door and turned to the guard behind him. “Trace the location where that call came from.” He told him that and the guard bowed down before turning to leave.

The King entered his bedroom, before he could do anything, Ma Grace rushed in with him.

“Is there anything i could help? I thought i heard from the maids that you were off duty for few days.” Wulfgur sat on the large chair at the corner of the room which has a table with different books, scrolls, a pen, inks, stamps, and other important things on the table.

“I’m back now, Your Majesty. I’ve set the table. You should come to eat your meal.” Ma Grace spoke softly, waiting for his majesty’s response.

“I’m afraid i won’t be able to eat anything throughout today.” Wulfgur shook his head while he looked away.

“Why, Your Majesty? You should eat to gain more strength. We still have a very long day. And food is important. You should eat, My Lord.” The woman replied with concern.

“I don’t think forcing me to eat this time will work, Ma Grace. I’m not really in a good mood today. I’ve lost my appetite for today.” Wulfgur took one of the documents on the table and began reading as he also listen to Ma Grace.

“Even at that. you should eat a little. You will look like a weak king if you don’t.”

Wulfgur sighed. Maybe this woman already defeated him. She won’t stop until she sees him eat his food.
“Ma Grace, you know it’s you i like among others. I give you every respect you deserve. I do listen to you. Fine! I will eat but just a little and that’s because of you.” Wulfgur smiled at the woman.

Ma Grace nodded and stretched her hand forward for him to stand up. ” Come, lets me take the mighty king to the table to eat.” She responded honorably.
“Hold on, I need to read this finish before following you. It won’t take time.”
“Sure, your majesty”

Wulfgur got through the document in his hand and took one of the stamps, dipped it a little in ink, and stamped the paper.
“Give this to one of the maids and to give Minister Kelvin of Finance. Tell him i’m rejecting the goods coming from Australia.”

Ma Grace widened her eyes. “Your Majesty, are you rejecting the billion dollars money we’d receive from the Australians? Haven’t you gone too far? Is it because of your mood today? You shouldn’t reject the money we’d make and use in our kingdom. Not only Crystal Kingdom.” Ma Grace frowned deeply at him.

“No, they aren’t bringing any goods that’d do the kingdom any good. They……” Wulfgur paused to clear his throat. “They smuggle in drugs and guns to this place. So, i don’t see why i should allow that in my kingdom”

“Oh! I’m so sorry my lord. I thought the money or maybe the goods could make us some benefits. Why don’t we catch them?” The King must have known their plans before.

“It seems Ma Grace seems to be more special and surprising today.” Wulfgur chuckled. ” Well, it’s better we don’t allow them in instead. I guess it’s the Australian’s right to catch their criminals. I don’t want to have any hands in it. I don’t want to involve my hands into a country that isn’t mine.” Wulfgur concluded and handed over the document to Ma Grace.

He stood up and followed her behind as she leads him to go eat his food.

Lun was already half asleep when she heard her phone ringing. It’s been ages since she uses her phone as no one but her uncle only calls her on it in case she’s needed. Almost like an emergency call.

“Uncle Henry.” She called.

“My dear, how have you been doing? Is everything going on well with you? Did his majesty treat you badly?” Henry questioned her before she could even reply to one.

“Uncle, I’m fine. I’m doing good and fine. I have something to tell you.” Lun responded.

“What is it?”

“I found out I’m the King’s mate days ago.”

Henry was silent for a while. “I knew it but I’m not that sure. I guess I will start to reveal as much as many secrets to you very soon. It’s time, you know. I just want to check on you. I will be coming over tomorrow to see you. Have a good day, darling.” Henry said and hang up.

Lun breathed out. The time she has been waiting for is finally here. She will get to know every truth about herself. Whatever her uncle has been keeping from her.
She began thinking of this till she slept off.
