Chapter Fifty-Six

Jason went to open it and be hold, it was their uncle. Fear gripped Claire the most.
He found them.
She stood up and walked slowly to the door.

“U..uncle,” She said slowly, scanning his pale face.
His face was a little white like that of snow.

“Claire, how have you been doing?” He grinned.

“Good morning. I’ve been doing well.” Looking at his uncle, he look kind of sick.

Calmness has suddenly taken over Claire even when she stood in front of him. Jason has been looking at him with disgust. He was ready to fight his uncle if he tries to take any wrong step.

“I see. Jason, it’s nice seeing you again. Healthy again.”

“How did you know I was sick? Were you monitoring us? And why did you come here? How did you find us?” Jason threw questions at him.

“One at a time, kid. I knew you were sick because the hospital you were receiving treatment was the same place I was receiving mine.” The man answered.

“Good for you.” Jason eyed him.

“I came to ask for forgiveness because…..I have less than a month to live. I had to look everywhere for you so I can ask for forgiveness before I die.”

He continued, “I’m sorry for what I ever to you children. I know I’ve suffered you two so seriously and I’m sorry for it. You must have gone through a lot in my hands.” Claire’s uncle was nearly crying.

Claire saw every sincerity in his eyes. Even Jason saw that.

“Are you sick?” Jason asked, hoarsely.

“Yes. It’s a rare disease I’ve been having for years. That was the same disease Jason contracted from me. I’m surprised you didn’t contract the disease. I’m at the final stage.”

“You son of a……”

“Jason, stop! Don’t let us cause any fight with him. You’re healthy now is what’s important to me. Uncle, I’ve said to myself that I was never going to forgive you.

But I guess I don’t have a choice than to. I’ve forgiven you and I hope you live your remaining life in a good way.” Claire uttered.

“You’re just like your mother. Kind and easy to forgive. I’m sorry once again. Jason?” He turned to Jason in order to hear at least his last words from him.

He’s going to live his remaining life in a good way. Before he die. He was really sorry for what he caused this children. He never realize he was hurting them. Now that he has few weeks to live, he’s ready to ask forgiveness from them. For him to rest in perfect peace.

“I too. I forgive you.” Jason said his. He meant it, and then he walked inside waiting for his sister.
