Chapter Fifty-Five

“Let’s go then. But i will miss him.” Jason spoke as he dragged his luggage and followed Claire.
“He has done a lot for me. The best man I’ve ever seen.” He smiled.

Hunter watched clearly from the window as he saw Claire going out of the compound with her brother.

Why didn’t he come out to say goodbye to her? Why?
A simple goodbye is just okay but it’s late already. She’s out of his house already.

He drew the curtains back and took his laptop to continue working on it but he couldn’t concentrate.

“What’s wrong with me?” He’d asked himself.

He already paid her off so what’s he worrying about. Why bother about her again.

He dropped the laptop and walked downstairs to take some drink and cool himself down.
No doubt, there’s no need for someone to tell her that he’s In love with her already and there no way he could open his mouth and say what he feels about her.

His phone rang from his pocket, he brought it out and checked the caller.

“Mom?” He arched his brows.

“Hunter, how are you today?” His mother questioned back.

“I’m fine mom.” He answered almost bittered.

“Where’s Claire?” The question took him off guard.

The girl his mom cared so much for has gone back to her house. It was just a two months contract to warm his bed and it ended today. What reply is he going to tell his mom?

“Mom, we..we broke up.” His eyes went shut immediately.

“What?!” The woman half yelled. “What happened? Why did you break up with her? She’s too good to break up with. Did you hurt that innocent girl?”

“No, Mom. It’s no one’s fault. We just decided to leave each other for a while.” He opened his eyes back.

“Son, I was almost planning your wedding only to hear this.” His mom sounded bitter over the phone.

“Wedding? Isn’t that to early? You just met the girl for weeks and you’re planning a wedding already?” Hunter scoffed.

“I want you to get married fast so you can give me grandchildren. I’m not getting any younger.”

“I’m sorry but she’s gone.”

“You can’t tell me that. Look for that girl. You may not be able to see someone like her again.”

“Mom, I’m busy. Can I call you back?” Hunter didn’t wait for any reply before he cut the call.

He sighed.

Claire got home and unpacked. She felt really tired after that and when she was about to rest, a knock came from the door.

Jason went to open it and be hold, it was their uncle. Fear gripped Claire the most.
He found them.
