CHAPTER 14

The next day, Roxanna stayed at the hospital for the whole day with parents of the young girls who were kidnapped coming to greet and thank her, she also received lots of gifts, love letters from boys.

She laughed as she read the last letter.

“These guys are really funny” Roxanna said while laughing.

“Yeah I know can you believe that one wrote that he just wants you to look at his then his life will be complete” Olivia said as she was reading one of the letters.

“Where’s Yvonne?” Roxanna asked.

“She’s probably with Mason. Ever since they started dating, it’s being like that” Suzy said

“I’m happy for her, she got through her trauma. And I’m more happy she’s with my brother” Olivia said.

They began chatting about other stuff that they didn’t see the time pass by.

It was night and Roxanna decided to go back home, she felt suffocated sitting in the hospital.

They paid the hospital bill and she was prescribed some crutches. They drove home while making sure no one followed them.

“Freedom!!” Roxanna said as they helped her in.

She was guided to her room and they helped her on the bed.

“No need, I can manage.” She said.

The maids bowed and walked out of the room. She used the crutches and walked to the window.

“Hope you’re proud of me big sis, I got justice for your death. Remaining mum and dad.

______Next morning

Roxanna woke up and yawned loudly. Today was lectures but she couldn’t go with a wounded leg, it will surely blow up her identity.

She stood up and took a bath then applied her body cream and then wore a white oversized T-shirt with a bum short and a flip flop. It wasn’t easy with the crutches. Today, she was going to stay at home all day.

“I just hope my wound heals by tomorrow, staying at home sucks” She said as she carefully climbed downstairs.

She entered the living room and put on the TV as she started watching it.

A maid was passing by.

“Excuse me, could you get me some popcorn?” She said and she bowed before walking away.

Minutes after, it was brought to her. She began munching on it as she watched TV.

Nathaniel stood in front of Roxanna’s house, Chris told him that she lives with Suzy so it was easy to find it. Everyone knows the senator house.

He breath in and out before ringing the bell. Three days has passed and throughout those three days, his mind wasn’t at rest.

A guard opened the gate and his eyes widened as he saw a celebrity in front of him.

“G…Good morning mister” The guard said.

“Morning, is Roxanna home?” He asked with a smile…

“Yeah” He replied

“Can I see her?” He said.

“Sure please follow me” The guard said and led the way. They both entered the living room.

“Miss Roxanna?” A guard said

“Yes?” Roxanna replied, not taking her eyes off the TV.

“You have a visitor” He said.

“Let him in” She replied still with her eyes glued on the TV.

The guard gestured for Nathaniel to walk in. He walked in and smiled as he saw her watching TV.

He slowly walked behind her and closed her eyes.

“Kelvin stop that” She said holding his hands trying to remove it.

He brought his lips to her ears

“Kelvin? Do I smell like him?” Nathaniel whispered in her ears

Roxanna froze as she heard his voice, she could recognize this voice even in her dreams.

He slowly removed his hands and she turned to look at him. She saw him smiling cutely at her.

He suddenly burst into laughters.

“Seriously, if you could see your face now. You look like you’ve seen a ghost” He said while laughing.

Roxanna scoffed and rolled her eyes concentrating back on the TV.

He sat down beside her.

“I’m sorry I shouted at you” He suddenly said.

Roxanna looked at him suspiciously.

*Is it the real Nathaniel?* She thought.

“No need to be sorry, I’m the one who should apologize. I have no right in asking you such questions, I promise I’ll know my limits from now on” Roxanna said.

“But I love it when you get all jealous” He muttered silently

“What did you say?” Roxanna asked.

“Nothing, I was just saying it’s okay. I’m not mad at you, so are we friends again” He said.

“We never stopped being friends Nate” She said with a smile.

He stared at her lips and was tempted to do the undoable. He came to his senses and diverted his gaze to the TV.

He looked back at her and noticed her left leg was plastered.

“What happened?” He asked pointing at her leg.

“Oh,,,uh,,I sprained my ankle” She lied.

“Okay, quick recovery” He said with a smile.

His gaze traveled from her plastered leg upwards. She was wearing a bum short revealing her long and spotless legs

He looked back at the TV and mentally slapped himself.

*What’s wrong with you?* He inwardly scolded his perverted mind.

“Nathaniel, Nathaniel” Roxanna called.

Actually she’s been calling him for the sometime now.

He jolted out of his thoughts.

“Yes?” He said

“Are you okay?” Roxanna asked and she touched his forehead.

“You’re temperature is normal. Why acting strangely?” Roxanna asked.

“Nothing, just spaced out” He replied.

“Okay. I was asking how your parents doing?” Roxanna said.

“Oh my mom she’s doing great and my dad well he’s dead, he died of asthma” He said.

“Sorry Nate” She said.

“It’s okay, I’m over it” Nathaniel said with a smile.

“Our family life is a bit similar. I lost my mom and dad two years ago, it was a murder case. Some weeks after, I lost my sister through the cruelest way, she was raped till death right in front of me” Roxanna said.

“I’m so sorry for them, you must have gone through a lot” Nathaniel said.

“Oh I’m trying to cope even though sometimes I think about them” Roxanna said.

Her eyes widened as she watched him wipe off her tears. She didn’t even notice she was in tears.

“It’s okay” He said and pulled her in for a hug.

She stood still for some time before hugging him back.

*I feel safe in his arms* Roxanna thought

*I strangely do not want to let her go* Nathaniel thought.

They broke the hug and smiled at each other.

They began chatting and discussing about other things.

Suzy was busy signing the autographs of her fans when someone suddenly caught her hand and pulled her to a quiet place.

She looked at who was pulling her and it was non other than Rulian.

“Let me go!” She said and yanked his hands away.

He faced her with that usual cold expression..

“What’s wrong with you?” Suzy asked.

“I’m sorry I pulled you away but I had to do that. I’m in some big mess right now and I need you to help me” Rulian said.

“What’s it, don’t tell me you stabbed someone or you stole from a rich person” She asked.

“I wished it was that but it isn’t. My mother’s operation went well and now she’s back to her feet. A nurse told her about you and now she mistook you for my girlfriend. She was so happy that her son finally got a girlfriend, I couldn’t tell her because it will sadden her and I hate to see her sad. So now we’re here, will you be my girlfriend.” Rulian said…

“I’m sorry what?” Suzy asked not understanding what he’s speaking.

“What I mean is, would you pretend to be my girlfriend for this week, just till when my mum gets fully recovered. After that we’ll go out separate ways, never to meet again” Rulian said.

Suzy crossed her hand across her chest and looked at him skeptically.

“What will I gain from doing that?” Suzy asked…

He took a step closer to her and pinned on the wall behind her. He leaned down to her ear and his hot breath caressed her ear.

“Don’t you want a hot and good looking person like me for your boyfriend?” He whispered in her ears.

Suzy froze at their closeness. She came back to her senses and pushed him away.

“Who told you, you’re handsome?” Suzy said and crossed her hands with a brow raised.

Rulian sighed defeatedly that his $eduction didn’t work on her.

“Please? I really need your help” He said.

Suzy looked at her and was surprised to see another look on his face apart from frankness. He had a sad look on his face…

*He must really love his mother* She thought.

“Okay, I’ll do it but only for a week not more not less” Suzy said.

“Deal” He replied and turned to leave.

“I’ll come pick you up tomorrow by 8pm. We’ll meet my mother and pretend to be a couple” He said and walked away.

Suzy sighed.

“In what mess did I get myself into” She thought

Nathaniel and Roxanna chatted about random things that they didn’t see the time pass by.

“So tell me what’s your dream?” Roxanna asked.

“Well my dream is to find true love” Nathaniel said…

“Nice, but if you want to find it you have to quit your playboy life” Roxanna said.

“I quitted it two days ago” He replied.

“Nice, as for me I just hope to sing with my idol” Roxanna said.

“Who’s your idol?” Nathaniel asked curiously.

“I will never tell” Roxanna said.

“Really? We’ll see about that” He said and began tickling her.

She laughed loudly trying to push him away but he didn’t even bulge.

“Haha….please stop…hahaha…. alright it’s you…hahaha” She said while laughing.

He stopped and stared at her.

“Like seriously?” He asked

Roxanna nodded.

“Well you’ve been my idol ever since you began your music career. I always dream of that day I’ll sing with you” Roxanna said looking away.

“Wow I’m flattered” He said with a smile.

She stood up and took her crutches.

“I’ll be right back, let me use the bathroom” She said and slowly walked to the stairs and slowly began climbing it.

Suddenly someone held her hand. She stopped and looked up to see Nathaniel.

“Let me help you” He said and took her crutches and placed it on the stairs.

He then picked her up from the ground, carrying her in a bridal style as he walked upstairs.

*I’m I dreaming or he’s being romantic* Roxanna thought as they walked upstairs.

She showed him her room and he dropped her. She slowly walked into the bathroom and eased herself.

He carried her back downstairs and placed her on the couch.

They chatted for sometime and then it was time for a Nathaniel to go home.

“I’ll see you tomorrow Roxy, bye” He said with a smile.

“Goodbye Nate” She replied.

He leaned forward and pecked her cheek before walking to the exit.

Roxanna blushed and touched her cheek as she watched him walk away.

“Why is he acting all different towards me?” She thought.
