“I went to the hospital today” Mr Tyler said to Mr Lyson
They both sat in a bar drinking since they were close friends

“Why? Because your wife can’t conceive?” Mr Lyson asked
“Yeah”
“So? Are you the problem?”
“Sadly it turns out I’m the problem…. My wife is okay but….I…..have a low sperm production” Mr Tyler said and gulped down a cup of beer

“That’s not good, What are you going to do? You’ve been married for three years now” Mr Lyson asked

“Help me” Mr Tyler said
“What do you mean?” Mr Lyson arched his brow as they both stared at each other in silence “its not what I’m thinking right?”

“This is the only solution I could come up with, My wife has been stressed out because of this……” Mr Tyler paused and sighed “You are only going to do it once, Just once…. Help me!”

“Are u crazy? What’s with your ridiculous solution? Just adopt a child instead of doing this”

“Help me, please…”
“Fine, let’s say I’m going to do it, What of your wife, She’s gonna say no”

“We are gonna put her to sleep….” Mr Tyler said, but deep down he regretted ever saying that

“Ok…..I will do it, however…. Its not for free” Mr Lyson grinned

“We are friends,don’t be like this”

“I know we are friends but……you still have to pay me you know” he smirked

Two years later……

“My son clocked a year two days ago” Mr Tyler said as they made a toast
“Congratulations” Mr Lyson said “But..my wife is pregnant, she didn’t tell me anything until I noticed her tummy was getting big” he added

“That’s a good news, you should be happy why do you look so gloomy?” Tyler arched his brow

“I’m not ready to be a father yet tho and I’m a bad feeling about the baby she’s carrying, I don’t like it”

“You don’t like a baby you’ve not seen? You must have lost his mind….so….what are you planning to do??”

“I’m trying to ki*ll it but that baby won’t just die, it must be a very stubborn baby” Mr Lyson and Mr Tyler scoffed

“You are trying to ki*ll an unborn child?”

“Yeah, I hit my wife my everyday… I mean don’t women get miscarriage when they are being beaten everyday? That baby won’t just die”

“Just let the baby be, If you are not ready to be a father I am pretty sure your wife is ready to be a mother”

“No, I won’t let it be” Mr Lyson said and drank a cup of beer

“You are the craziest being I’ve ever seen” Mr Tyler said shaking his head

“What……are….you….guys talking about?” Drake stammered
They both turned and was surprised to see both Drake and Xavier standing behind them

“What are you doing here?” Mr Tyler asked trying to change the topic

“Is that important right now? I asked what you are talking about?!!” Drake yelled in a very thunderous voice that made Froze with surprise

Drake was a always a calm guy, although he has the knack of getting on people’s nerve but he will never raise his voice especially at people older than he is

“Its not what you guys are thinking? We were probably talking about something else” Mr Lyson Lied and Xavier scoffed

“You must take us for a fool, we heard everything you said, stop being cheap” He said

“Dad….how…how could you do this to me? I knew you were not my dad but why does it have to be Xavier’s dad..?” Drake asked as tears gathered in his eyes

“Drake, let me explain, listen to me” Mr Tyler said
“Darn….” Drake mouthed and wipe his tears “I’m done here” he said and walked away

Once he was gone, they couldn’t look at Xavier
They dared not!
Xavier is pretty much different from Drake you know

“Why are you guys avoiding my eyes?” He smirked and moved closer to his father “I’m glad I didn’t die when you tried to ki*ll me….However, you are gonna regret ever making me live” He said with a very deadly glare and walked away

“You said you are here to turn yourself in and here to reveal how Xavier Lyson lost his sight?” The detective asked and Anita nod

“Yeah and also about what happened between him and ciara” she added

“You seems to know a lot about Xavier, who are you to him?” The detective asked
They were both in the interrogation room but everything she was saying was being recorded

“I have been Xavier’s maid for Seven years so I know many things about him” She said and the detective nod

“Let’s take it one after the other, Why are you here to turn yourself in?”

“Because…. I…..” She paused and sighed
“I will ask you that later, How did Xavier lose his sight?”

“Xavier was born with a very poor sight and at a very young age he had the eye disease called cataract”

“Yeah, it was all over the news” the detective shook his head in agreement “but many people thought he lost his sight due to the stage light”

“Exactly!” Anita snapped her finger “Wasn’t it strange to you how the stage lights became brighter?” She said and the detective arched his brow

“It wasn’t that bright to me….”

“But to Xavier it was, before Xavier starts a concert, he always tell the producers and directors that be doesn’t want his stage light getting too bright and for the past 7 years, his stage light stands different from other idols who performs on the same stage, you are a detective, why don’t you check yourself…. You can use Drake stage light as a comparison” Anita said and the detective did as she said

He searched for both Drake and Xavier stage performance video on his laptop and it was totally different

Drake stage light were damn bright but Xavier’s were dim

“You are right, but….who did this?”

“It was obviously the producer in charge but someone told him to do it”

“Who??” The detective arched his brow
“It was Xavier’s father, Mr Lyson”

“What? His father?” The detective said with shock “how could a father want his son go blind? He must have lost his mind….. But how did you know this?”

“I always followed Xavier whenever he was going for a concert, that day he was too busy to talk to the producer so he told me to do so on his behalf, on my way I overheard Xavier’s father chatting with the producer and giving him some huge amount of money, when they were done, I went to the producer to deliver Xavier’s message but he acted the opposite” Anita scoffed

“Ah….so that was what happened?” The detective said and leaned his back on the chair “so, What do you have to say about Xavier’s scandal??”

“I wouldn’t actually say Xavier Raped Ciara, rather I would say ciara raped Xavier” Anita grinned

“What?”

“Ciara used to crush on Xavier, she was all over him but Xavier never looked at her, Xavier got drunk at a Company party but Instead of manager George bringing him home, Ciara brought him home and took him to his room, I tried to stop her but she told her manager to take me away, that was how she spent the night with Xavier but she made him believed she was Raped”

“Unbelievable” The detective scoffed “I know this can happen but is there anything you can use to prove it or perhaps do you have a witness?, both The scandal and how Xavier lost his sight?”

“About Xavier losing his sight…….the producer could be a witness and…. About Xavier scandal…. What can I use as an evidence?…….” She paused trying to think

“You said Ciara’s manager dragged you out that day right?” The detective asked tapping his chin
“Yes” Anita nodded

“Then her manager could know about everything, her manager could be a witness”

“But what if they refuse to confess? Both the manager and the Producer?” Anita sighed frustrated

“Don’t worry, we have our way of making criminals confess” the detective said and breath a sigh of relief

“Thank you and….. I hope you could do something about Xavier’s scandal” she smiled

“Don’t worry about that too, but why are you turning yourself in tho?”

“That’s because….. I was also part of it, I helped ciara by telling her Xavier smokes and drink and I also testified to the reporters that she was Raped”

“Were you threatened by her?”

“No….I foolishly fell for her trick, I like Xavier and she told me doing this could make me have Xavier to myself” She scoffed as tears gathered in her eyes “I was a fool for believing that”

Xavier was in the living room walking up and down and dialing Drake’s number but he wasnt picking up

“He’s driving me crazy, where in the world is he? And why won’t he pick his call?” He murmured to himself still dialing his number

After trying many times he threw his phone on the table in front of him and collapsed on the couch

Of course he was hurt by what his father said

“I shouldn’t have been born” he thought to himself
His phone started to ring and it turned out to be a call from Drake

“Hey, why have you been ignoring my calls, do you…..”

“Xavier” Drake interrupted with his cold voice “I’m sorry, I don’t know how I’m gonna face you right now that’s why I’m hiding, I never really thought my dad could do that, I knew he was not my father but…I never really thought it was gonna be your father” Drake said with a voice that sounded like he was sobbing

“Why are you being like this? Isnt it nice that we are brothers? Sometimes when I see you, I actually wished we were brothers…” Xavier paused and blinked back his tears “when I tried to ki*ll myself because of my scandal, you told me I was a loser, I cant believe you are hiding because of something so cheap…We haven’t even released our song collaboration yet so…come back and let us show them we are really brothers, I will be waiting” Xavier said and hanged up

He tried holding back his tears but it was too much for him to bear
He started by sobbing but soon it became real tears

Camila stood at the dinning room leaning against the wall
She heard everything he said on the phone and she was certain he was talking to Drake

She wanted to console him but stopped
There are times when people do not need consolation
They just want to be alone for some while and get over everything
To her, it seems like Xavier was in that mood

The fact that Drake was his big brother must have been a big shock to him
The fact that they had the same blood running thought their vein

Probably, he was regretting the way he had treated Drake from the start
If only they had known they would have treated each other better

Some minutes later, Camila didn’t hear him weeping again so she moved closer and saw him asleep on the couch

“I’m glad” She said and placed him in a comfortable sleeping posture
She walked to his room and came back with his duvet then she covered him with it

“I’m glad you still have a family member you can rely on and I hope you guys get along well” She said caressing his hair

THE NEXT MORNING…..

Xavier slowly opened his eyes and met himself on the couch and also covered with a duvet

He sat up and stretched his body
“Did I fall asleep here?”
He turned and saw Camila fast asleep on the floor

“Why is she sleeping here? The floor is so cold” he said and carried her up to her room

He laid on the bed and covered her with duvet and turned to leave when Camila opened her eyes

“I’m on earth or Paradise?” She asked so sleepy, rubbing her eyes

“Thankfully you are still on earth, did you sleep well?” Xavier asked and she nod

“Yeah, you?” She asked standing up from the bed when Xavier’s phone started to ring again

This time it was an unknown number

“Hello?” He picked up “what? Anita is at the Police station? What is she doing there? She must have lost her mind, I will be there in a minute” he said and hung up

“Why is Anita at the station?”

“I don’t know the details, I have to go, see you later” Xavier said and turned to go when their phones both vibrated

It looked like some News was out again

“Ugh? The news is about Xavier Lyson?” Camila arched her brow and clicked on it

The Headline was;

XAVIER LYSON INNOCENCE HAS BEEN PROVEN

“What’s with the boring Headline? What did I do again?” Xavier scoffed and read further

‘Xavier Lyson innocence has been proven, Anita Jake and Tony Mark who are said to be Xavier’s maid and ciara’s manager both testified that Xavier never Raped Ciara but rather, Xavier was drunk and ciara used this as an opportunity to spend a night with him
Also, How did Xavier lose his sight 8 months ago? The producer who was in charge of Xavier’s Concert that day has confessed that Raphel Lyson, Xavier Lyson father actually gave him a huge amount of money to make the stage lights bright knowing fully well that Xavier won’t be able to bear it for so long
Right now, the cops are on their way to Arrest both Ciara and Raphel Lyson

“What’s this? Anita must have lost her mind” Xavier said and ran out
“Wait for me” Camila yelled and ran after him

They drove to the police station and thankfully, Anita has been released
She walked out of the station with a smile

She looked up and saw Xavier and Camila coming out of the car

“Hey, Anita!!” Xavier yelled and Walked to her

“Xavier, we dealt with your scandal, Aren’t you happy?”

“Happy about what? That you ruined your image to set me free? What are you doing?” Xavier said, upset

“I did so many bad things to you but you are still worried about me, I’m grateful, I just hope you forgive me, I joined hands with ciara concerning your scandal because I liked you” She said and Xavier became dumbfounded

What was he supposed to say at a time like this
It was a great shock

“What?” he mouthed

Anita noticed a red light on her cloth
She looked at Xavier and gave him a pretty smile

“Why are you smili….” Before Xavier could complete his statement, they heard a gunshot which caught everyone attention

They didn’t really know who was shot until Anita collapsed on the floor

Immediately, the cops ran after the one who shot the gun

“Anita” Xavier called and bent beside her, trying to sit her up

Camila quickly took her phone and called the ambulance but it was rather too late

“Xavier…. I will never forget….our Seven years together” Anita said as tears dripped from the corner of her eyes

“No, stay with me, please…” Xavier said and started sobbing

“I’m happy I was able to reveal the truth before leaving you” She said and looked at Camila who was watching them and crying too

“I hope you guys be together happily, that’s my wish….Xavier”

“What in the world are you saying? Aren’t you scared to die?” Xavier said weeping
“I saw this coming, I know she won’t let me live once I reveal the truth” She said, gradually losing her breathe

“Do not resent anyone Xavier, you are worth more than doing that” She said and slowly closed her eyes

“Open your eyes, Anita please” Xavier yelled with tears

Anita was his best friend
She was the only friend he had for 7 years
He never thought of Anita as a maid, to him, Anita was a kind of friend you could rarely have and a friend you will regret losing
He never thought of dating her, he wanted to make sure she ends up with someone much better than he is
Someone who could love her more than he did
He never thought they could part ways like this

Just like that, Anita died leaving her best friend behind

THREE MONTH LATER…..

“Are you confident?” Xavier asked with a smirk
“Hey, its not my first time being on stage, I can rock the stage more than you do” Drake said with his arms folded

“That’s not true? I can Rock the stage more” Xavier said with confidence

“Hey, why did you keep on arguing when it’s so obvious” Drake scoffed

“Have fans ever fainted after seeing you on stage?” Xavier asked proudly and brushed his hair to the back “Fans lose consciousness once I appear on stage, I bet that has never happened to you before” He said and crossed his leg, feeling like a boss

“Why you…..”

“Will you guys stop arguing over useless things? I can’t believe this, are you kids or what?” Camila yelled at them

Thankfully, they were able to released their song and just expected, the song was a jackpot

The song made them money and it made them both even more popular especially Drake

They were both in the dressing room, waiting for their time to perform on stage but they were just arguing over useless things Camila was tired of

Ciara was arrested and sentenced to prison for two offences;
Ruining the career of a colleague and For murder

Mr Lyson was arrested for Making his son lose his sight

When Drake and Xavier released their song, they had a press conference and at that moment confessed to everyone they were brothers

Mr Tyler was ashamed to face his family so he flew out of the country

And in three months, A New couple was born
Drake and Nancy

“Drake” Nancy opened the door to the dressing room and ran to hug Drake

“Did you miss me that much?” Drake asked caressing her hair
“Yeah, good luck with your concert, I will be cheering on you” Nancy said and pecked him on the cheek

“There are people here you know” Xavier grumbled and looked away
“Jealous or what?” Drake bluffed

“As if” Xavier scoffed

“I can’t believe they are doing this again” Camila shook her head
The door opened and the producer in charge entered

“Drake and Xavier, you will be on stage in 3 minutes” he said and walked out

“Let’s go” Drake said to Xavier

Their fans were already seated
Putting on Fan shirts, Caps and Light sticks

The lights went off and the stage light went on
Revealing Drake and Xavier

Immediately Xavier saw the Light, he was terrified
What if he lose his sight like 8 months ago?

That was all in his mind
What if he ends up collapsing like He did that day

“Xavier, whats wrong?” Drake whispered when he noticed

Their fans were cheering so happily that they didn’t even know something was going on

“Snap out of it Xavier, I know you are thinking about what happened to you that day, Remember this is not your eyes Xavier, it’s your mom’s” Drake said and Xavier looked at him

“Mom” he mouthed

“Yeah, your mom, She gave you those eyes so you can shine brighter than before, Brace yourself” Drake said and Xavier suddenly regained back his confidence

“Are we good to go?” Drake asked and he nod

As the owner of the song, Drake started

‘Write a story’
This was what Xavier said to Drake to guide him in writing his own songs

Drake wrote a story based on the feelings he had for Camila
He fell in love with her even though he knew she wouldn’t end up with him

It was hard but he got over her and fell in love with someone else

Xavier and Camila both walked to Anita’s tomb and dropped a flower

“Anita, we are here again, we miss you so much” Camila said trying to smile

Xavier stared at the tomb which had
‘Here Lies Anita Jake’ inscribed on it and her picture placed beside

“Anita, I miss you so much, I wish you were here but……..Thank you and……I’m sorry” Xavier said and sighed

“Don’t worry too much, I will take care of Xavier so just rest up there” Camila said and Xavier held her hand

They both walked down the street staring and smiling at each other

“Why are you staring at me?” Xavier asked
“Its just…..I remembered my first day as your manager” Camila smiled

She stopped and brought a blue teady bear from her bag

“What’s this?” Xavier asked
“Your mom bought this for you the first time you went to watch fireworks” Camila said and handed it to him

“She couldn’t give it to you cos she was shocked when the fireworks got in your eyes but she really wished you had it”

“Oh……” Xavier mouthed staring at it cutely “its pretty, I like it” he said and Camila smiled

“I’m glad you like it” She said and they continue walking
“Xavier, guess what?”
“What?”
“I got into the college”
“What?really?”
“Yeah”
They both looked at each other and smiled again

Later in the night, Camila was done taking a shower and was ready to go to bed when Xavier entered with his pillow

“Why are you here?” Camila asked
“Its too boring sleeping alone, I want to sleep here tonight” Xavier said and Camila gulped

“You want to sleep? Together?” She asked

“Yeah, together” Xavier nodded and laid on the bed

Camila hesitated at first but later laid beside him
A little bit away from him tho

“Come closer” Xavier said with his eyes closed
“I’m okay this way” She said

Xavier pulled her by her waist closer to himself and hugged her tightly

“Are you scared to sleep with me tonight? Don’t worry, I won’t do anything”

“N..no, it’s not that, don’t get the wrong idea” Camila cleared her throat

She closed her eyes and opened it seconds later just to see Xavier staring at her
“Why aren’t you sleeping?” She asked

“I want to watch you sleep first, then I will go to sleep after that” he said and Camila smiled before closing her eyes

The one who shed light to his dark world

“I’m grateful I had you in my life” He said and kissed her forehead.
