Bending to pick up all the things on the floor, I opened the letter first after dropping the other things.

My eyes widened the moment I opened it, it’s a letter from Clifford.

Saying one of his staff saw the money inside one of the cloth his staff disposed this morning.

And I shouldn’t just keep on putting things inside my dress again cause it can get disposed anytime.

I couldn’t help but blush at his little and short letter.

Staring at his signature, I started running my hands over it.

This guy is making me turn all soft for him. Gosh Alma you can’t be inlove with someone like him.

I thought closing my eyes even if it hurts to say those words to myself.

Even with all the humiliation, I still find myself running into his embrace.

Clifford what are you doing to me! I thought holding the later to my chest.

Especially where my heart is, it can’t stop beating for him.

Thinking about his hatred towards my kind, my once beating heart still continue in a crazy way.

I didn’t know when tears started to trail down my face not until I heard a loud knock on my door.

I quickly jump out of the closet only to see Clifford bodyguards inside my room.

They have this scared looking face. Like they are scared of something

But the moment they saw me, they sigh in relieve them wipe their sweat away.

“What?” I asked staring at them.

“Is something wrong? Why were you crying?”

Earl asked making me look at them like they just said something I don’t even know.

I was confused that I shook my head negativity saying no.

“Check out the mirror.” He said and I move towards the mirror.

“No I aren’t.” I lied cleaning away the already dried tears.

“We both know that’s a big lie.” Earl said moving towards me.

That’s Earl for you, he will always know whenever I lie to him. Am like an open book to him.

“It’s my parent, am missing them already.”

I lied looking down on my leg so the he won’t see me blink my eyes.

“Sorry about that.” He said pulling me in a hug.

But next time answer your calls or better still don’t always lock yourself in the room alone.

You made us so worried,we thought he already kidnapped you.”

He said still holding myself in him making me wonder who he is talking about.

“Who? Who wants to kidnap me?” I asked ignorant of what’s happening.

“You can all go now, tell Clifford she is doing great. “He said changing the topic.

They all nodded and left then Earl pulled me to the bed.

He made me sit and brought out a water for my mini fridge.

Pouring me the water, he handed me the cup of chilled water while I glupped it down and asked for more.

It’s like I needed this water since. Dropping the cup, he placed it back to it place before he take his sit on my bed.

“Who wants to kidnap me?” I blurted out because am dying to know the answer.

“Hmmmmmmmm… It’s…. Don’t worry.” He said looking somehow Disturbed… TBC
