Chapter 14

Alma.

“Stanley transported me over.” I finally let out the truth.

He gazed into my eyes for few minutes and then, he looked away.

“Why would you allow him transport you?” He asked.

“I wasn’t holding a transport fare, how in the world will I get to school if I did not let him transport me?” I questioned.

He was quiet for a while, he then leaned on one of the chairs and bite his lower lips softly.

He tucked his hair and said; “Did Stanley came to offer a contract to you?”

“Of course, but I had signed yours before he came with the offer.” I answered.

“I shouldn’t have signed it.” I murmured and looked away regrettfully.

“How dare you ridicule my band? who did you think you are? you can go ahead and join his band, I don’t care…” He said.

“Help me by terminating the contract.” I pleaded and he shot me a look of disdain.

He brought out his phone from his pocket and put a call through to someone; “Go home and bring the contract Alma signed.”

He then hung up.

“At least you uttered my name this time.” I said.

“You do not deserve to even speak to me, once David comes with the form, I’ll terminate the contract.” He said.

“But…you are handsome and soft in the look, a lot of your fans sees you as god, I seem to be the only one that knows that your hatred for poor people is top notch.” I said.

“Nonsense.” He spilled angrily.

“How about this? once you terminate the contract, I’ll make an announcement that the contract was terminated cause of how you were maltreating me, I will make the world know how much you hate poor people, if I do that, a lot of your fans will see you as a bigot and one that is unkind. You will lose a lot of fans and reputation.” I declared.

He turned at me angrily and his face only expressed anger; “You poor thing, what are you trying to do? Just tell me the amount you need to keep your silly mouth shut.”

“I do not need your money, terminate my contract and watch what I will do to you.” I threatened further.

David walked in at that moment with a document I assume was containing the contract.

“Right here.” He said and handed over the document to Clifford.

“I was about to terminate this poor girl’s contract but she said she will only go out there to tell my fans how much I loathe poor people, did you see what you have caused , David?” Clifford asked.

“There are rumours outside already that you despised poor people, many of your fans just find it hard to believe. Many of your fans are poor, many are rich too…. Indeed, if Alma confirms it, the poor fans might retract from being your fan while some rich fans might see you as an unkind celebrity.” David said.
