Yay!
I’m so glad she agreed to go on a date with me.
I almost thought she was going to decline.

Talking with her is really fun and I was sad when she had to leave.
She said she has some assignments to do.

The door of the room opened and aunt Kate came in with a food flask.

“Thank you, ma” I said to her as she gave me the flask.

“You are welcome. Laura said you shouldn’t sleep yet that she would soon come to see you” aunt kate said.

“Okay, ma. How is Hunter?” I asked.

“He is still the same” she said sadly.

“Alexa said she saw him move his fingers today” I blurted out without realising.

“Wow! Why didn’t she tell me” she exclaimed happily.

Why did I tell her this? What if I’m just giving her a false hope?

“Alexa wasn’t so sure, but I hope he’d wake up soon” I said.
Aunt Kate left my room and I feel so bored without my phone.
I even forgot to ask aunt Kate about it, but I guess there is no need because she obviously doesn’t have any idea about where it is else she’d have mentioned it.

I opened the food flask and I devoured the macaroni, cheese and turkey like someone who has been starved for years.

Hardly had I finished eating when I heard a knock on the door.

“Come in” I shouted for the person on the other side of the door to hear me.

The door creaked open and my mom stepped in.

“How is dad?” that was the first thing that came to my mind as I saw her.

“You know how he is. He has been asking of you repeatedly. He even suggested that I should wheel him into your room so he could see you. I think he is suspecting that something isn’t right” mom said.

“That’s sad. I can’t wait to get better so I can come back home” I said and mom sigh.

“I also can’t wait to have you back at home. I’m just worried about Hunter”

“Don’t worry, mom. I believe he’d soon be awake” I said confidently.

Mom and I talked for some minutes before she took her leave.
I didn’t have any other thing to keep me occupied and before long I fell asleep.

☀️ FRIDAY☀️

❣️ ALEXA❣️

I had fallen asleep immediately after dinner yesterday.
I yawned lazily as I got out of bed.

I quickly made my bed and I walked into the bathroom in my bathrobe.

I finished my morning rituals and I wore a black jump suit on a black wedge heels.
I applied lip gloss alone and I didn’t bother to pack my hair today.

I’m feeling very happy for some unknown reasons.
I can’t just explain the feeling I’m having this morning.

I went downstairs to have breakfast with my uncle and aunt.

“Good morning, uncle/ aunt” I said while smiling and I sat down on my chair.

“Good morning dear” aunt Kate said.

“Good morning, munchkin. You look really gorgeous today” uncle Evan said and I blushed slightly.

We all started eating and I hadn’t eaten much when we heard the ping of the nearby monitor. We all looked up at once.

The monitors had been set up after the boys were brought back from Alabama.

It had been programmed to notify us whenever there is a change in the heartbeat of the guys.
It is a pulse of ultrasonic sound whose echoes provide information about the health of the guys.

Uncle Evan and aunt Kate had sprinted out of the room and they are heading to Hunter’s room.

I also dropped my fork and try to run after them without falling due to the heels I’m putting on.
I was panting by the time I stepped into Hunter’s room.

I went to join uncle Evan and aunt Kate who were standing beside Hunter’s bed looking anxious.
The monitor pinged again and we watch Hunter struggling to get up.

“It’s okay. You’d be fine” uncle Evan said, gently patting Hunter on his head.

“Dad” Hunter said weakly as he finally opened his eyes.

I’m so happy that he is awake at last.

“Mom” he said trying to sit up.
Aunt Kate went to hug the life out of him.😀

“Dana! Are you just going to stand there?” Hunter said and I squint my eyes.

Huh?
Dana, who?
The room was eerily quiet after Hunter called me Dana and I had to say something.

“Hi, Hunter. I’m glad you are finally awake. We’ve all been so worried about you. By the way, I’m not Dana” I said.

Hunter chuckled humorously.
I wonder what is so amusing about this situation.

“Dana, stop it. Why would you be trying to deny your name?” Hunter asked rhetorically.
This isn’t happening, is it?

“I’m Alexa. I don’t know who Dana is” I said in a slightly shrill voice.

“Uncle Evan, aunt Kate, please say something” I said facing my uncle and aunt.
Aunt Kate sighed sadly.

“She’s right. She is your cousin, Alexa” uncle Evan said.

“Mom, are you also going to join them in this play acting?” Hunter said to aunt Kate.

“You must be very hungry. Alexa, please come with me” she said.

I followed aunt Kate out of the room and she burst into tears.
I feel so sorry for her.

“Please stop crying” I said sadly.
Aunt Kate was having a tough time controlling her tears.
She was finally able to reduce it to a quiet sob after some minutes.

“He remember us, but I don’t know why he can’t recognise you” aunt kate said.
I also don’t know why he’s mistaking me with someone else.

“Aunt Kate, who is Dana?” I asked her.

“She was his first love. They were inseparable from kids and they were still kids when they fell in love” aunt Kate said sadly.

“Where is she now?” I asked curiously.

“I don’t want to talk about it right now” she said getting more emotional.

“I’m sorry for being inquisitive” I apologised.

“I should be the one saying sorry. I guess you have the right to know about her but I can’t bring myself to talk about her for now” she said.

We both went to the kitchen and she quickly brewed a cup of tea for Hunter.
She said she’s not sure if he can eat any solid food yet.

I took the tray containing the tea to Hunter’s room.
Uncle Evan was talking to him, but immediately I stepped into the room, he smiled dreamily at me.
I had to force a smile back.

I glanced at the big clock hung on the wall and I gasped aloud.
It’s 8:24am and I’m still at home.

“Uncle, I’m already late for school” I complained to uncle Evan.

“Don’t worry. I’d talk with Bob. I know you have missed school for some days niw due to this incident, but I hope everything would be resolved as soon as possible” he said.
I glanced at Hunter and I saw that he is already fast asleep.

I carried the tray with the half empty cup of tea and I left the room.

I took the tray to the Kitchen and I started washing all the dirty dishes in the kitchen.

I went back to my room after I finished cleaning the kitchen.
I’m not going to school for today.
I closed the door to my room and I sat down on my reading chair.

I sat still without moving for what seems like hours before aunt Kate knocked on my door.

“You can come in” I said.
The door opened and she came in with uncle Evan.
Both of them were looking really gloomy.

“We called the doctor over the phone and we explained what happened to him and he said Hunter is obviously suffering from partial amnesia. He said we have to play along with him so that he doesn’t degenerate” uncle Evan said.

“That means you have to act as if you are Dana until he gain his full memory. That is the only way we can help him” aunt Kate added.
I nodded and sniffed back my tears.

Why did he have to lose his memories of me?
How can I act like someone I don’t even know?
How long am I going to act as Dana before he regain his memory?

Aunt Kate robbed my back in circles and it feels so soothing.
I didn’t know when I fell asleep with her still rocking me back and forth.
