💓HUNTER💓

I went to my room after dinner thinking about what Oliver has been going through.

I feel somehow sad that he couldn’t open up to me or the other guys even though we’ve all been friends since forever.
I know he must have his reasons for keeping it to himself.

The most astounding thing is that he told Alexa who just got here two weeks ago.
I thought they both didn’t get along but obviously I was very wrong.

I should have known something was wrong long ago but I was in observant.

It has been months since anyone slept over at Oliver’s place and I haven’t been seeing his dad around but I thought he went on a trip or something, plus the fact that his dad didn’t come to watch him play on Friday which is something that has never happened before.

I know how much Oliver adores his dad and I know he’s really affected by his dad’s sickness.

❣️ALEXA❣️

The sound of the rainfall beating against my windowsill was what woke me up.

I got out of bed and yawned. I can’t sleep anytime soon unless the rain stop falling.

I checked the time and it was 2:45am.
I’ve gotten used to Oliver coming to my room every night and I was expecting him to come yesterday until I fell asleep few hours ago.
My sleep was cut short by this rain.

This is definitely gonna be a long and boring night.

I didn’t enjoy my sleep because I was worried about Alexa.
I’m very sure she would be disturbed by the rain and will find it hard to sleep.

I blame myself for not going to her place yesterday.
I was very tired and I didn’t know when I slept off.
I only wake up hours later when the rain started falling.

I couldn’t go to her house anymore because it was too late and everywhere was so dark.

” Hunter, food is ready” mom said standing outside my door.

” Okay mom” I replied.

I quickly wore a blue hooded sweatshirt and black pants. I wore my black running shoes and I went to the dining room.

I’m the only one who eats in the dining room now because mom eats in dad’s room while dad doesn’t eat solid food anymore.

He takes in fluids which serves as his food through the pipes connected to his body.

I miss dad’s booming voice which usually resonates throughout the house.
I used to think his snores were annoying until he got so sick that he couldn’t snore again.

Now, the house feels so eerily quiet at night without his snores.
The only thing making sound in his room are the machines connected to his body.

Thinking about all these things made me lose my appetite and I just kept stabbing my omelette with my fork without eating it.
Maybe I’m letting out my anger on the poor food but I simply don’t care.

I let the food get so cold and then I went to dispose it before washing the dish.

I got to my room and I saw my phone blinking with a message notification.
I unlocked my phone and clicked on the message.

💬 Good morning. How was your night? Uncle Evan said I can come to your place today but you’d have to come pick me up from home”
Alexa.

I replied her message instantly.

💬 Good morning. I had a copacetic night, you?
What time would be convenient for you?”
Me.

💬You can come in the next one hour”
Alexa

I replied her last message before switching off my phone.

One hour later

.
.

I got to her house and I met Hunter and his dad playing a game of chess in the sitting room.

” Good morning sir” I greeted him and he stopped his game to respond.

” Good morning. How is peter’s health?” he asked.

” He’s is pretty weak” I replied.

” I’m sorry about your dad” Hunter said fixing his green eyes on me.
The same pair of eyes as Alexa’s just that hers is more alluring.

” Thanks man. Where’s Alexa?” I asked.

” She’s in her room” Hunter said.

” Okay” I said.
Hunter stood up and followed me to his former room.

“Hey, why did you keep it away from us. I thought we were close friends” Hunter accused me.
I know I’m kinda guilty for not telling them.

I’m so sorry but you guys wouldn’t just understand” I said.

” And Alexa understand?” Hunter asked incredulously.

” Yeah, she have lost her parents also though not to cancer but still the fact remains that she has dealt with pain on a personal level unlike any of you so she knows exactly how I feel”

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to sound self centered. I was just surprise you opened up to my cousin who just came and she doesn’t even talk” Hunter said.

What he doesn’t know can not ki*ll him.
I won’t burst his bubbles so he can keep believing Alexa doesn’t talk to me.

” There are different ways of communicating and it doesn’t matter if she talks or not.
The bottom line is we both understand each other” I replied.

We are now in front of Alexa’s room. I knocked on her door and she opened it immediately.

She stopped out looking so beautiful and I couldn’t help but drool over her.
Hunter coughed and I smiled sheepishly.

We all left her room and we head out of the house.

“My regards to Laura. I’m coming to check on Peter very soon” Uncle Evan said when we got to the sitting room.

” Okay sir” I said to him and we left.

I’m kinda nervous because Alexa is the first girl I’m taking to meet my parents.
Ruby and my other flings have never been to my house before. Our relationships always end in school and that is exactly how I want it to be.

❣️ALEXA❣️

Oliver and I didn’t say anything to each other until we got to his house.

“Here we are” he said when we got to his house which looks like something out of a classical movie.
I love the structure though it’s kinda archaic.

Oliver opened the door and I let him step in first and I trailed after him.

I marvelled at the interior of the house.
What the building lacks on the outside, it more than compensate for it with the amazing decor.

” I love your house” I blurted out.

“Thanks, it’s my mom’s hobby to decorate rooms” he said.

He led me up a flight of stairs and we stopped in front of a room. Oliver opened the door and I followed him in.

I saw various types of machines which were making beeping sounds and I followed the numerous tubes of the machines to the occupant of the king sized bed who was smiling at me.

Good morning sir” I greeted him and the door creaked open noisily and a new person entered.

” I can see why he won’t stop walking about you” he said grinning mischievously at Oliver.

I didn’t know what to say so I turned to see who just entered.

” Good morning ma” I said to the woman who is a carbon copy of Oliver.

“Good morning dear. You must be Alexa, I’m Laura” she said warmly.

” Nice to meet you ma” I said.

I talked with Oliver’s dad who insisted I call him Peter and I must say he’s very fun to be with. It’s such a shame that his days are numbered😢😢.

I stayed in Peter’s room for almost one until he complained that he’s feeling sleepy so Oliver took me to his room instead.

“Thanks for honouring my dad’s invitation” I said to Alexa who was playing with her fingers.
I noticed she do this whenever she’s nervous and I don’t know why she’s nervous around me.

” It’s my pleasure” she said batting her eyelids unconsciously.
Damn, this girl is just so gorgeous.
She was still intertwining her hands together and unlocking it few seconds later.

“Nervous much?” I asked.

” Yeah, kind of” she said.

” Why?” I asked her.

” You know, me and you all alone and…” she didn’t complete her sentence.

” Huh?”

She started speaking incoherently and I didn’t understand all she was saying so I shut her up in the most effective way.

I kissed her passionately and she reciprocated immediately. I’d have love to kiss her forever if we hadn’t been interrupted.

Someone coughed slightly and I turned to see mom carrying a tray in her hand.

“I’m sorry to interrupt you kids but I made some snacks for you” mom said.

” Thanks ma” Alexa said shyly.

I wait till she left and I turned to Alexa.

“Should we continue from where we stopped” I said.

She threw a pillow at me and I quickly ducked.

Oliver’s mom is such a show spoiler but it’s good she came in sha cos I’m not ready to be an aunt yet🙈🙈🙈.
