Episode 9

Jayden’s pov

“Well, I’m a hitman now. Am trying to find the mafia. Am taking revenge for my family.” I spoke.

“Then, am helping you.”

“Really? How?” I asked.

“It’s gonna be a surprise. I hope our momma is doing well ?”

“Yeah, she is.”

“Okay, I need to go right now! Next week, I will be through with this army stuff.” I could picture the smug smile on his face.

“Okay bye. Thanks for calling.”

“You’re welcome, guy-guy” He laughed.

“I don’t know why you won’t stop calling me guy-guy.” I rolled my eyes.

“Hey! You should know that’s my nickname for you.”

“Whatever!”

“Okay, bye.” The line went dead.

I sighed and dropped my phone. My eyes caught Jessica’s picture.
‘I missed you so much Jessica’

‘I missed you too Jayden.’ I turned back to see jessica but no, i was f*cking hallucinating.

The dress Kimberly wore belongs to Jessica. That dress was worn on our last date.

I took the picture and placed it on my chest. Who else will open my locked heart?
Who else?

A knock came and I opened the door. It was Sarah, the house maid. She had been working and taking care of my mom for six years now.

“Your attention is needed downstairs.” She said and turned to leave.

I took my phone and dropped the picture. I walked downstairs and saw my mom watching her favorite TV show.

“Mom? You called me.” I spoke, walking to her.

Kimberly was coming downstairs too.

“Yeah, I want you three to cook dinner” She answered.

“Huh? Why?” I blinked my eyes.

“Lazy bone. You Can’t just stay up there and wait for them to cook, then come to call you.”

“You know am the man of the house.” I whined softly.

“Oh! Man of the house indeed. I’d love to see you cook.” My mother let out a lovely smile and wheeled her wheel chair to the kitchen.

I got to the kitchen and saw Kimberly, and Sarah setting down the ingredients on the counter.

I moved towards them while mom stayed at a corner.
I took the vegetables and washed them. I gave kimberly to cut them while I boiled the chicken and fish.

“Ouch!” Kimberly suddenly winced.
I quickly rushed to her and took her injured finger.

“Are you okay?” I asked worriedly.

I put the finger into the running water to wash away the blood.

Oh God! When last did I care for someone?
