CHAPTER 33

 

He walked slowly towards Leonise who was already crying too. “Mum?” He called again to be sure it was really her. He thought he was dreaming.

 

“Mum,please tell me i’m dreaming,tell me this isn’t you” He said as he stood at her front.

 

“You’re not dreaming my son,it’s me your mother” Leonise finally voiced out.

 

He hugged her immediately she said that. “I’ve missed you so much mum,i thought you were dead. I was afraid that was the reason i ran away,i should have checked you. I’m so sorry mum,i was so scared” Khaleed said as he was crying and hugging his mother tightly to himself.

 

“I missed you too son. It wasn’t your fault,you were so young. Trust me son you did the right thing by running away” Leonise said trying to pet Khaleed who was still crying.

 

They heard someone clear his throat,Khaleed quickly cleaned his eyes and turned to the direction the person was standing. “What are you doing here?” Khaleed asked as he stood up when he found out it was Donald. “Are you here to ki*ll her for real this time?”

 

“Khaleed” Leonise cautioned.

 

“No mum,let me teach this man a lesson” Khaleed said moving towards Donald as he tightened his fist.

 

“Khaleed please,Donlad is a changed man now,trust me” Leonise said.

 

“I don’t believe that” Khaleed said as he gave Donald a punch on the nose.

 

“Khaleed!!” Leonise screamed while Khaleed just ignored her and focus on Donald.

 

“What? You want to return the punch? Come on,do it. Listen,i’m no more that fifteen years old you beat up everytime. I’m a grown man now nad i’m no more scared of you. I will beat you to pulp and put you behind bars. Trust me i can do that” Khaleed said as he dragged Donald by his collar.

 

He was about to give him another punch when Leonise shouted.

 

“Khaleed please,it’s enough now”

 

“Leave him Leonise,i deserve it. Let him do whatever he likes to me,i was expecting it anyway. Come on Khaleed,do it” Donald said.

Khaleed’s eyes were blood shot. He wanted to ki*ll Donald badly or give him the beatings of his life so he could feel the pain he and his mother felt. “Son of a b***h” He said as he pushed Donald away by his collar.

“You were in comma for eleven years?” Khaleed said surprised. Leonise was already on her bed again and the IV fluid has been transferred back to her hand.

 

Khaleed had asked Donald to excuse them that he wanted to have a quality time with his mother.

 

“Yes i woke up two months ago and was really afraid when i found Donald beside me. But he assured me he is a changed man and i believed him,because if he hasn’t he wouldn’t have waited for eleven years. Sitting by my side,waiting for me to wake up and footing my bills.” Leonise paused.

 

“According to the doctor i saw when i woke up” She continued. “He said i hit my head while falling that i actually woke up two years after the accident” She said.

 

“Then what happened?” Khaleed asked wanting to know the full details.

 

“I had temporary amnesia when i woke up i could only regain my memories if i go back to comma or continue living my normal life but i will go through a lot of pains to get it back so Donald chose comma since i didn’t know anything then.” Leonise concluded smiling.

 

“I’m so lucky to have you back” Khaleed smiled.

 

“That day you ran away,i saw you leaving. I haven’t lost consciousness then”

 

“So,why didn’t you call me back,i would have saved you” Khaleed said.

 

“I wasn’t sure i was going to live and if i had lived,i would have still spent eleven years in comma and you would have spent all the you were earning on me. Your schooling would have stopped because you would have taken some jobs that weren’t meant for you to take care of your lovely mother. And when i wake up i would have wished i died” Leonise said smiling while Khaleed cleaned his tears.

 

“My baby boy have grown so big,now tell me about yourself. What happened for the eleven years I’ve been away?” Leonise asked.

 

“I’m a man now mum” Khaleed said.

 

He later narrated all what happened to his mother. “Khaleed,are you going to listen to whatever i tell you today?” Leonise said.

 

“Of course mum,why not?”

 

“I want you to give the company back to Kabir and face your career as a doctor. I was wrong to have had an affair with Mason. I already took enough from Dora,sleeping with her husband and having a child for him and now taking away what is meant for her son. I’m done being a traitor. Just give him back the company,please son,do this for me”

 

“Sure mum,anything for you. I was tired of being the chairman anyway” Khaleed said.

 

“And about Ayesha,i think she’s a nice girl but she’s carrying Kabir’s child,i don’t think she’s meant for you. But this Anoushka seems like a nice girl too,who knows,maybe she’s the one” Leonise said has he winked at Khaleed.

 

“Mum,you haven’t changed at all” Khaleed said. “I will give Anoushka a try,come on,let’s go for a stroll”

 

“Khaleed,i’ve been in comma for eleven years and my feet i haven’t touched the ground since,how do you expect me to know how to walk?”

 

“Come on,i can teach you,what am i here for and why am i a doctor” Khaleed said as stood up and gently removed the fluid from Leonise hand.

A month after Khaleed found his mother,he decided to take her to the Dalvetti’s mansion. It was the same day his mother was going to be discharged and he was also going to hand over his resignation letter to his father.

 

The reason he wanted the revenge and the company was because he thought his mother was dead and now that she’s still alive and healthy,he decided to give up on everything,face his career and of course get married.

 

After that night with Anoushka,he had maintained a boss maid relationship with her but deep down,he found himself getting attracted to her.

 

“Hi,mum” He greeted as he entered his mother’s room. He had sent a beauty salon earlier to take care of his mother appearance. He didn’t want her to visit the Dalvetti mansion looking Shabby. He pecked his mother who could now stand and walk very well.

 

“Son,how do i look?” Leonise asked as she admired her self in the mirror.

 

“You’re the most beautiful woman i’ve ever seen” He complimented.

 

“I’m flattered” Leonise said smiling. “So tell me,where are we off to that you had to send a whole beauty salon to my room?”

 

“We’re visiting dad” He answered.

 

“Donald?” Leonise asked.

 

“No,Mason Dalvetti”
