CHAPTER 31

 

“What is it this time?” Gabriel asked not facing Kay.

 

“We have company” Kay replied.

 

“Company?” Gabriel asked finally facing him.

 

“The press are here,they want to have an interview with you” Kay said.

 

“What?” Gabriel shouted while Emily’s eyes shot up. “Damn it,someone must have informed them. Is that all?” He asked.

 

“No. They are with the police” Kay replied.

 

“Police? What have i done to warrant for the police to be here?” Gabriel asked.

 

“They want you to come outside boss,they’ve surrounded the building and they can come in at anytime”

 

Just then three uniformed policemen entered into the living room. An inspector and two constables.

 

“I’m Inspector Gregory” The inspector said bringing out his ID card. “Senator Anderson,you’re hereby arrested for the murder of the famous AYSH GROUP heiress,Ayesha Sherman” The inspector said bringing out his arrest warrant and continued.

 

“Constables,please handcuff him” He ordered.

Gabriel was handcuffed and taken outside the building. Many reporters and police were already outside. The reporters were asking series of questions and also taking pictures and videos.

 

“Is it true you’re responsible for the death of Ayesha Sherman? Is it true Gage isn’t your son? How could you be bold enough to contest for a Mayor?” The reporters bombarded him with questions he couldn’t answer to as he was taken to the awaiting police van.

The week has been a stressful one for Khaleed. First of all about the DNA. Then he had to take Adsh to the police station to lodge a complain against Senator Anderson which the police started their investigations immediately. Khaleed was summoned at the police station to answer some questions same as Adsh.

 

He used to spend his days either at the police station,hospital or the company. He also dropped an anonymous letter to the press office same as the DNA test result knowing they would love juicy stories. He also dropped the DNA test result anonymously at Gabriel’s office being the day he was going to be arrested. So tonight,the world would sit back and watch the news,know what happened to Ayesha Sherman and all the bad deeds of senator Anderson.

 

Khaleed was really pained. He knew that tonight the world would know that Ayesha isn’t really dead but alive as another person.

 

That night,everyone at their Mansion was present in the living room,they all wanted to watch the news. Khaleed had requested for Gabriel to be summoned to court immediately since all the investigations has been carried out. In the news,it was known that Gabriel was sentenced to life imprisonment for murder while Emily and Gage were on the run.

 

It was also said that the famous AYSH GROUP heiress wasn’t dead but was living as Adsh Scanlan. The news went viral on internets,newspapers,magazines and televisions. The Sherman’s also called and spoke with Adsh,they even wanted to come pick her up immediately but she told them to wait till the next day ’cause it was already late.

 

Adsh felt fulfilled and happy she had the revenge she wanted. They all went for dinner and after that went to their separate rooms.

 

Khaleed was in his room when he heard a soft knock on the door.

 

“Yes,come in” He said to the person at the door.

Adsh opened the door slowly and led herself into the room. Khaleed watched her as she walked slowly towards him.

 

“Khaleed,can we talk?” Adsh said as said as she stood in front of him.

 

“Of course” Khaleed said as he patted the bed so that she could sit.

 

“Thanks” She said as she sat down.

 

“So?” Khaleed inquired.

 

“Actually,i wanted to talk to you about every thing going on” Adsh said not knowing how to start. She looked up to see Khaleed waiting patiently for what she had to say. She bowed her head again playing with her fingers.

 

“Khaleed” She called as she bite her lips thoughtfully and then continued. “…you know now that everyone knows my identity,my parent will be here to take me away tomorrow. And i will follow them,give birth to my baby and then continue with my normal life” She paused and continued when Khaleed didn’t say anything.

 

“…well i just wanted to tell you that we should stop pretending. Like maybe few weeks after i’ve gone back to my life,you should just tell your dad we broke up and…you know…we should just__”

 

“So is that it?” Khaleed asked trying his best to hide his annoyance.

 

“What?” Adsh asked as she looked at Khaleed.

 

“So you think everything was just pretence? You think i did everything i did and i don’t have any feelings for you? You think i don’t love you?” Khaleed rushed.

 

“Khaleed” Adsh called surprised.

 

“I love you,Adsh and nothing is going to change that fact,even if you go to your parent and continue your normal life,i will still love you”

 

“Khaleed i’m carrying your brother’s baby” Adsh said.

 

“I don’t care. I don’t care if you’re carrying his baby. All that matters is that i love you and that’s it. I don’t want to end this pretence,i really want to make it real” Khaleed said holding Adsh hand.

 

Adsh removed her hand from Khaleed’s grip. “I’m sorry Khaleed but i don’t love you. I have never been in love with you and i’m carrying your brother’s child how can you say that now?” Adsh said.

 

Khaleed was surprised. He thought she loved him. “But Adsh,you were nice to me. You always waited up for me,you called my house a home and now you’re saying you don’t love me. Then who do you love? Kabir?”

 

“I always waited up for you and do those things ’cause you’re my guardian angel. I’m sorry but i felt nothing toward you. You’re just like a friend to me” Adsh said as she stood up and headed for the door. “Good night” She said before she left the room. She showered with an heavy heart.

 

She never knew or thought that Khaleed was in love with her. She knows that she still loves Kabir. She finally slept off on her bed while Khaleed slept with an heavy heart.
