“I can’t believe it. The fact that you will be getting married to Xander. He’s the man of my dreams but I’m at least happy about the fact that it’s my best friend that got him and not some other bitches.”

Cara grins beside me and I shake my head as I walk inside my room,slamming my door harder than I should as I slump down on the bed.

After dad had said that and after I had tried to tell him that I don’t want to get married to anyone and even if I want to get married, I don’t want it to be a forced marriage.

If I’m going to get married then I want to get married out of my own free will. I don’t want to be forced but of course dad didn’t listen to me and I know that he isn’t joking about this.

He really wants me to be married and to Xander of all people.

How could he just decide to do this without asking for my consent or even trying to know how I feel about this. He just.. he just went out of his way and do this even after the multiple times that I have told the both of them that I don’t want to ever get married.

“Okay, I know that you’re angry about this…”

Cara says, walking inside and towards me as she takes a seat on the bed and I shake my head at her.

“I’m not just angry about this Cara, I’m annoyed. How can father go ahead and do something like this after how he knows what I feel about marriage.”

I shake my head and strangely, she starts chuckling.

I turn to look at her with my brows furrowed and she holds her hand up.

“Do you really think that this is funny right now? You have no idea how angry I am about this and you’re chuckling?”

“I’m sorry babe. I’m so sorry but it just actually… I don’t know…”

She says, still laughing and I glare at her.

“I’m sorry.”

She clears her throat as she finally stops laughing.

“I know that you think that it is but it’s just actually funny to me if you think that your parents are going to just let you have your way because you have just told them how you feel about getting married.”

“I don’t understand what you’re trying to say.”

I shake my head and she sighs before sitting better on the bed and gesturing for me to turn to her which I did.

“Put yourself in their shoes Selena. What parents in their right minds wouldn’t want to get their daughter married? If you had been the one in that position and your only daughter don’t want to get married, what would you have done?”

She raises her brows at me and I shake my head.

“I would have respected her decision and let her be not try to force her into getting married like my parents are trying to do to me.”

I mutter and she shakes her head.

“You are just saying that because of how you feel towards getting marriage, you actually wouldn’t have leave the daughter alone but hey, you should cheer up seriously. It’s Xander at least. Come on, you have no idea how lucky you are. I would have jumped at the opportunity if I had been you.”

She says and I roll my eyes.

“Come on babe, we need to start preparing for the party.”

She says and I sigh, nodding.

I suppose that I need to meet my supposed future husband.
