Kierra’s Pov
I’ve always wanted to go on a really long vacation outside of California with my family but definitely not like this not with my big brother fighting for his life in a coma certainly not with my closest friend blaming me for my own brothers illness which hurt like hell and definitely not been away from Xander for God knows how long

 

I’m really curious about how dad was able to get a private jet is quickly I mean I knew we were wealthy but I didn’t know he was also influential but I was extremely thankfully because as a result of that we were currently on a plane on route to Miami where the operating would take place and hopefully my brother would be back to normal

A few paramedics had to come along with us since he needed special care all through the flight which was approximately two hours

“Kierra why don’t you get some rest we’ll wake you up when we get there

“I’m sick and tired of rest mum I want to stay with him

“Dear it’s gonna be a long night the operation is in the morning so when we get there he’ll be put under care so you’ll still need to get rest dear

“I’ll stay with him all night mum it’s a private ward right I really don’t care if it’s not am staying with my brother and that’s final

“OK OK at least sleep through the flight you can set an alarm in that case

“sh*t I left my phone mum…I said as I felt my back pocket

“You’ll get a new one don’t worry

“Darn my contacts and everything

“It’ll be alright dear just rest everything would be fine… She said as her cool voice made my eyes blurry till I slept off

 

“Arriving now in New York Miami ….A mechanised voice said as I rubbed my eye lids staring outside the plane

“Iys beautiful… I cooed

“Max would love this… I thought sadly

“Passengers are abused to please stay sited as we start landing maneuvers… It added as I settled in my chair feeling the plane hit the ground

“Congratulations and welcome to Miami… It added once more As the door opened up while I ran out to receive fresh air

“It’s beautiful max… I thought sadly as the paramedics for him out

“Well be staying at the Grand Hotel for the night

“You’ll be staying am staying with my brother

“Kierra dear

“No mum you guys have been through slot I’ll stay with him I’ll try to sleep but please let me stay

“Alright dear then you can stay

“Thanks mum

“We’ll head to the hotel to try and get some clothes so you’ll change in the morning the operation is extremely elated rake care of your brother please

“You don’t have to tell me twice mum… I replied as I entered the ambulance we got as it drove off

 

The hospital looked really well equipped as we registered max u took a good look at his face which only brought tears to my eyes as his eyes kept shut and his face neutral

“Just wake up for me…. I begged sadly as he was led to his private room

 

I was prepared to stay here all night so I grabbed an arm rest in the chair as I tried to get comfortable while staring at Max unconscious self

“Okay big bro this is it….

“You’re in New York Yayyy too bad it’s for the wrong reason… I said trying to talk to him

“I miss California though I miss everyone Maya pretty mad at me but she is right it’s All my fault if I hadn’t been so lazy none of this would have happened

“I’m so sorry… I said taking his hand

“You’re a fighter max please fight for Maya don’t fight for me I really don’t deserve it fight for your love fight for the growing desire to see her again fight max and don’t give up I’ll always love you… I muttered slowly before closing my hands

I wasn’t sure if it was a figment of my imagination or it actually happened Hut I felt his hamds squeeze mine lightly as I dozzed off into dreamland

 

The sun rays hit my skin as I stressed lightly really uncomfortable because of the position I was in last night I looked by the side shocker to see max gone my heart begging to race as I panicked

“oh you must be miss Leah your mum said…

“Where’s my brother… I nearly screamed

“The operation about to start yes about to go into the ICU….

“Okay thanks… I replied as I made for the door

“Wait… I screamed to the nurses as they tried to take him on

“Just a minute please

“Kierra they need to operate now

“I know I just need a minute

“I love you big bro… I said softly pecking his cheeks as they took him in

“Please let him be fine please… I pleaded slowly as I took a sit my whole body trembling in agitation

 

Why can’t I have access to a time machine or something because then I would simply fast forward time or better yet go back in time and stop this horrible moment from happening

It’s been hours now the day is almost gone and still yet no sign of the doctor they’ve been in there for hours operating and each time a nurse walks out she makes absolutely no effort to give us any news it’s like they want us to remain in the dark and let out minds run wild with imaginations

“Kierra you should go change… My said handing me some clothes

“Please… Dad added when he saw I was reluctant

“I’ll be right back… I replied as I headed for the restroom to change my clothes

 

Being in a fresh set of clothes did me some good since I felt a bit better as I headed back to the ICU hoping and praying for some good news

I sighted from afar the doctor talking with my parents as they held each other while he wore a neutral look which made me a bit frightened as I quickened my steps to catch up with them

“How’s my brother….I said simply when I got there

“Sorry you are

“Our daughter….They said together

“Umm we should go to NY office to talk then

“Why what’s wrong with him just tell me already am. Old enough to know right

“Kierra

“Stop treating me like a kid dad I want to know…. I said raising my voice

“Alright doc feel free to speak

“Like I was telling your parents young lady the operation was a success ….

“OMG thank you doctor thank you thank you thank you so when can I see my brother now later or tomorrow I can just peak from the window please when would he be awake doc

“Calm down miss Leah the operation was a success but there were some complications however

“What kind of complications… I said slowly as my heart began to race again

“I’m afraid we had to put your son in a medically induced coma

“Nooooo!!!… I screamed lunging forward to grab his collars

“You were supposed to help him not make it worse why would you put him in a coma why why why

“Kierra stop…. Dad said getting me off him

“Young lady I suggest you control yourself else I’ll have no other option than to get security to throw you out this is a hospital

“I’m sorry… I said slowly

“It’s a medically induced coma in case you don’t know what that is it means we control how long he sleeps for in simple terms it’s like a light switch we can wake him up whenever we want

“So wake him up now please… I muttered slowly

“Like I said young lady they were some complications however would you like your brother up how but he won’t be able to talk Huh or how would you like him unable to walk

“Or the one we fear the most how would you like it if he doesn’t remember you Huh

“What!!…we all screamed

“The operation affected his nervous system his brain needs time to heal it’s a medically induced coma he’ll be fine just give it time

“How long doc

“A month or two and he’ll be out of it

“But doc how can we be certain he’ll be fine

“I’ve dealt with Cases like this he’ll be fine miss Leah all you need to do is be patient enough the time starts now ……

A MONTH LATER

“Hey b***h… Elsa said behind me

“You a$$ hat I told you not to call me that

“You know I love you anyways

“I am notttt… She screamed

“I need to leave Elsa

“Oh to see your brother you don’t want to tell me about

“Well today’s your lucky day he’s supposed to be out of his coma today

“OMG coma???

“Yeah that’s why I didn’t really want to talk about it it’s a medically induced coma though I’ve been visiting him every day now and the doctor says he’ll be out of it today so you can come if you want to

“Of course what are best friends for… She said as I chuckled suddenly remembering Maya and xander

It’s been a month since max was put in that coma a month since I’ve been in Contact with anyone from California since I lost my phone and a month since I’ve been dying to hug Xander so badly

I miss everyone and everything and hopefully after today things would be back to normal

Elsa was just an extra bonus she’s extremely fun and fears no one she’ll put you in your place regardless of who you are and I guess that’s one of the many things I adore about her

We’ve grown extremely close in just a month since mom and dad force me to go to school here since they explained it would be an amazing distraction for me and it worked because I made new friends and strangely I had FUN

 

Mum and dad sent a quick text that they were already waiting at the hospital for me since we all wanted to be there when the doctor finally wakes him up

I got to the hospital with Elsa trailing behind me slowly as the receptionist smiled since she was already used to my daily visits I really didn’t need to sign in since I was already used to the hospital it was kind of like my second home in a sorta way

I headed straight for the ICU as the doctor and my parents stood patiently at the door

“Mum dad meet Elsa my friend

“Pleasure to make your acquaintance Mr and miss Leah… She replied cool as they smiled

“So finally let’s do this… The doctor said before opening up the door as we smiled

 

I’ve gotten used to the room by now the flowers the bed and his amazing cute face just laying there waiting to meet mine as the doctor Injected him with a syringe filled with an injection fluid or something as we waited eargarly for any result

“One minute nothing

“Two

“Two minutes thirty seconds

“Three minutes ….

“Max… I thought silently as tears rolled down my cheeks

“Doc what’s…..

“Ahhhhhh…. We heard max breath out loudly as the monitor beeped rapidly

“Maxxxxxxx….we all screamed running forward to hug him as the doctor and Elsa smiled

“Lil sis…he muttered weakly

“Maxxxxx…i replied as I hugged him really tightly not wanting to let go
