CHAPTER 16

The next day,Ayesha went back to work with a long face. Finally she was going to get married to someone she didn’t have a thing for. Kade had chased her away saying all she wanted from the beginning was sex. Now she was going to accept her fate and forget about Kade for good. She was going to act as if nothing ever happened between them,at least that was what he wanted. Gage is now her husband.
Kade watched Ayesha enter her office. He saw how sad she looked. He knew she wasn’t happy about what he did to her. He was just afraid he was going to end up hurting her feelings but now he knows he had hurt her the most. He was going to confront her and tell her the reason why he came to the company and ask her to save his company. Then confess to her maybe then together they can fight against her marriage. He was going to apologize to her first. He took long strides to Ayesha office and knocked. “Come in” He heard her voice from inside her office. He opened the door and entered. She just finished making her morning coffee. “Good morning” He greeted.
“Good morning” She replied moving to her desk. “Did you get the goods across to Mr Fallon?” She asked.
“Yeah. I did that yesterday” He replied looking straight at her but she wasn’t looking back at him. He didn’t know how to start the conversation he really wanted to have with her. “Aysh,about yesterday__” He started.
“What about yesterday?” Aysh asked interrupting him.
“What happened between us yesterday__” He started again but Aysh interrupted him.
“What happened between us yesterday was a mistake. A big mistake and i don’t want us to talk about it especially now that i’m getting married. Let’s continue with our working relationship and pretend as if nothing ever happened between us” She said.
“Aysh but i have someting to__”
“Miss Sherman” She corrected.
“What?” He asked confused.
“You are going to call me like your boss and nothing else and you’re my employee,nothing more”
Kade took a deep breath. “Okay fine, Miss Sherman. I’m going to do whatever you want” Kade said and walked out of the door. He slammed it behind him,he was so furious. She had said she was ready and now was telling him he should pretend as if nothing ever happened between them. How could he do that? He hadn’t used any protection that night and she didn’t use contraceptives as well,so it was possible she was carrying his baby. She was such a fool for thinking that way and now she has decided on marrying Gage. He knew she was going to regret her decision.
She was annoyed and sad at the same time but she wasn’t going to cry. If she cried that means she’s weak so she was going to hold it back as if nothing ever happened between them. She was going to get married to Gage and continue with her life. She was also going to face her company and protect it anyway. She was going to completely forget about Kade.

Three weeks has passed now and the Sherman family has been preparing for Ayesha wedding. She was bought the most beautiful wedding dress. A big event hall was rented and the house was full of extended families. Ayesha was showered with love,care and praises. Gage saw that she didn’t stress herself. Emily also showered her with love and also tried her best to make her happy,nevertheless,she was still unhappy.
She and Kade had maintained thier boss and employee relationship has expected and didn’t talk about personal issues. She was hurt that it couldn’t be the way it was but it was her idea. Kade was annoyed that Aysh didn’t want them to talk about personal issues. He really wanted to tell her the truth about him but she wouldn’t give him a chance to explain himself. He had no doubts he was already in love with her but she was getting married to Gage in a few days. Javier had warned him not to fall in love with her but unfortunately for him he was already deeply in love with her and couldn’t bring himself to fight the feelings.
Now he had accomplished his mission in AYSH GROUP. He was going to leave,he could not stand the person he loves avoiding him. She was starting a new life,he also was going to start his. Maybe find a girl from a very respectable family and get married. But the deep down he knew no girl could be like Aysh. But she has moved on and now he realized it was time for him to leave AYSH GROUP.
Aysh decided to to visit the company that day. She had been occupied with her wedding arrangement and hadn’t visited the company for three days now. She had to know how things are going in the company. When she got to work she realized Kade wasn’t at work. Maybe she was attending to something personal. She thought. Not long after that there was a knock at the door and she invited the person in. It was Martha.
“Good morning ma’am” She greeted.
“Good morning Martha” Aysh replied.
“The managing directors called” Martha started.
“Why did they call you? They are supposed to call Kade” Aysh said suprised.
“Yes,they did but they couldn’t get through to him and they didn’t want to call your personal number” Martha explained.
“They couldn’t get through to Kade?”
“Yes”
“Have you tried calling him?”
“Yes but his number was not available”
“Why did they call?” She asked.
“They said Kade came for more than enough goods for the K&D Group and has refused to return our share of the money” Martha explained.
“What?” Aysh said surprised. “How much is the money worth?” She asked.
“Two hundred million” Martha said.
“What?!!” Aysh shrieked hitting her hand on the table and standing up all of a sudden. Martha was taken aback. “Did you get a call through to Mr Fallon?” She asked.
“Yes but i’m afraid the number on his profile doesn’t exist. I think we’ve been scammed” Martha said.
“No…no…no” Aysh said shaking her head. “Kade wouldn’t do this to me” The group was trust worthy. Kade can’t be a con artist. How could he do this to her? Just two days to her wedding. Aysh thought. She took her phone and started dialling Kade’s number but it was not available. She also tried Mr Fallon’s number countless times but the number doesn’t exist. She ran to her laptop and made a quick search on the both of them but the only reply she got was ‘This person doesn’t exist’. She sank into her chair when she realized she has been duped. She was deep in thoughts of where Kade could be when she heard Martha’s voice. “Miss Sherman are you alright?” She asked.
“Of course am not!!” She shouted “You can see how things are going and you’re asking if i’m alright. Who would be in this situation?”
“I’m sorry” Martha said frightened.
“Just leave this place before i transfer my aggressions on you” Aysh said motioning for Martha to leave her office. She picked her car keys and ran to the company parking lot. She entered her red sport car and fled to Kade’s apartment. When she got there she rang the door bell countless time but there was no reply. She started using her hand to knock the door but there was still no reply. She turned and saw i middle aged woman passing.”Excuse me” She said as she tried to stop the woman.
“Yes” The woman said turning to face her.
“Please do you live around here?” She asked.
“Yes” The woman replied getting impatient.
“Please do you have any idea where the person living here is? He is a guy,tall and…….i don’t know” She said getting confused and frustrated.
“The guy living here packed away three days ago” The woman explained.
“What?!!!” She shrieked frigtening the woman. “I’m so so sorry,please do you have any idea of where he packed to?” Aysh asked.
“No. The guy living here was not really friendly with neighbours so i don’t know. He didn’t even tell us he was packing. I just realized now that i didn’t even know his name. So can i go now?” The woman asked.
“Sure. Thank you so much” Aysh said moving away from the woman and heading to her sport car.
She zoomed off checking all the possible places Kade could be but everything was fruitless because she couldn’t get him. She tried calling him and Mr Fallon again but it was giving the same reply. She was so engrossed in her search she forgot she was having dinner with Gage and his parents in her house. She didn’t want nagging from her father so she turned around and headed for her home.
