CHAPTER 15

Dora Dalvetti decided to clean her husband’s room personally. She was tired of the maids doing what she was meant to be doing. She cleared all the cobwebs,cleaned all the furnitures,swept the floor and dusted the windows and doors. She went to his wardrobe to check for dirty clothes and of course there was no dirty cloth. It has been a long time since he left the house. He was always on the bed.
But he was already getting better. The company was coming back to normal with the help of Kabir. Only God knows what he was doing to bring the company. She couldn’t allow a bas***d to take her son’s place. Never.
Mason could now stroll around the big house. He could now walk without the help of a staff or Javier. He was eating better,talking better and laughing better even though he has not fully recovered.
Dora decided to scan through his drawer that was when she saw it. It was lying there,first thing in the first drawer. Leonise picture.
LEONISE BENSON.
The woman she hated so much. The woman who gave birth to the bas***d. A prostitute. A lowlife. Of course that was what she was. Because she hadn’t given birth early,Leonise taken that chance and slept with her husband claiming they loved each other leaving her to weep alone all day and night. Until Micheal-Dora’s older brother came up and helped her out. They both threatened Leonise and she ran away with the pregnancy. Never to be seen or heard of. Mason had been downcasted day and night and she stood by him claiming she didn’t know about her disappearance. He was her husband anyway and she had to do what she had to which was the right thing to do. Leonise was the intruder. She later got pregnant and gave birth to Kabir. He was her joy. His heir and their everything. She tried conceiving again but it didn’t work out for them so they continued with thier lives. She had tried looking for Leonise but couldn’t find her. She covered up well,but she later found out she had a son that was a doctor. She found him and has been trying to scare him away. But what was Mason doing with her picture? Does it mean he still loves her? After all the love she had shown him for the past twenty eight years they’ve been married? All this questions ran across her mind.
She strode out of the room to where Mason was taking his stroll. He was even smiling. “What is this still doing in this house?” She asked slamming the picture on his chest.
“What are you talking about?” Mason said looking surprised.
“If you want to know what i’m talking about then take a look at the picture” Dora said pointing to the picture that had fallen on the floor.
Mason bent to pick it up and has he had expected it was Leonise picture. He loved her and he just couldn’t afford to loose the picture. He had taken the picture himself during those times he had sneaked out of the house to visit her. That day he had lied to Dora he was going for an appointment but he had gone to meet with Leonise instead. They had loved each other and she was carrying his first child. Until a day he had snuck away to check up on her again and didn’t meet her in her apartment. She had ran away. With his baby.
Then he went back to his wife who had bore him a boy. Kabir was now taking care of the family and his company. But now he still had to pretend he didn’t understand Dora. “Dora,i don’t get this” He said feigning ignorance.
“What exactly don’t you get?” Dora said shouting.
“Mrs Chairman you don’t have to shout,you know master hasn’t fully recovered” Javier said trying to stop Dora.
“Stay out of this Javier!!” She shouted at him. “Do you still love her? Do you still want to see her?” Dora asked facing Mason.
“Dora, you___”
“Just answer my questions”
Mason sighed. “Yes i still love her and i want to see her with my baby that she ran off with” He felt Dora slap him across the face. He deserved it.
“You ingrate. You bas***d. She was my best friend. She took you away from me and you went to her willingly. And now you’re telling me you still love her. You still want to see her. You’re such a jerk” Dora said blinking back her unshed tears. “What of Kabir? What is he to you? A toy you’re just using to get your company back? Is that it?”
“Dora,you have to understand,she was carrying my baby when she ran off” Mason said.
“I won’t allow you” Dora said fuming. “I won’t allow you to see her and her child. Never. Not when i’m still alive. And if you try to bring them back it’s either they die or you die” Dora threatened. With that she went back into the mansion. She was furious.
Mason sighed and turned to Javier. “What of the information i asked you to gather about Leonise. Did you get anything?”
“Yes,a lot.” Javier replied.
“Tell me”
“I found out that twenty seven years ago when she ran away she was threatened by your wife and her brother-Micheal. She had to leave to save her baby. She ran to a nearby town and gave birth to a boy” Javier explained.
“A boy?” Mason asked as his eyes lightened.
“Yes a boy. She didn’t have enough money to take care of him so she took a part time job to cater for him where she met her new husband. She died few years back.”
“She died?”
“Yes. I don’t know the cause of the death yet and her body wasn’t seen. Since the day she died,her body and her husband went missing” Javier explained.
“What of my son?” Mason asked.
“He ran away from home after his mother’s death and was catering for himself”
“How old is he?” Mason asked.
“Twenty six”
“His name?”
“Khaleed Benson and he’s a medical doctor”
“He’s just a year older than Kabir” Mason said. “Where does he live?” He asked.
“I don’t know yet” Javier said.
“Find out where he lives,i want to meet with him” Mason said.

Ayesha walked into her living room. Everyone was waiting expentantly for her. Kade had chased her away. She had no choice but to leave his apartment and come back to her family. Ford,Betty and Pluto were there. Gage,Emily and Gabriel were also there. Including Jasper their butler.
“So you’ve finally decided to come back home?” Ford asked in a mocking tone. “I knew you would come back,i’m your father anyway”
“What exactly do you want me to do dad?” Aysh voiced out.
“It has been set. The wedding day and it’s going to hold” Ford said.
“I know. That’s why i’m here,but i will love to talk to Gage first. Alone.” She stopped and looked at all of them. “You know i don’t want to be trapped in this marriage so i want to talk to my husband to be” She concluded. There was silence everywhere. Gage hadn’t moved from his seat. He was shocked when Aysh said she wanted to talk to him alone and was also flattered. At least she has finally realized he was her husband to be. “If we’re going to talk then let’s leave” Gage said after recovering from his shock. He led Aysh out of the living room while she trailed behind. They got to the balcony and he leaned over the rail expecting Aysh to talk first when she didn’t talk he decided to break the silence. “So we are a thing now?” He said.
“I am not a thing with you Gage” He was surprised at her outburst. She was the same person that called him her husband to be not long. So she was just pretending all this while. He swore under his breath he was going to ki*ll her if she doesn’t accept to marry him. “Come on Aysh,we are getting married very soon” He said.
“My body is never going to belong to you. I am never going to marry you this monster”
“I don’t think that’s a good word to say to your hubby” He said.
“Hubby my foot” She scoffed. “Look Gage i’m taken,i slept with him so back off” Aysh said knowing fully well she was going to regret it ’cause Gage looked like someone that was being burnt in a blast furnace.
“Him? Who?”
“Kade. I told you he was my fiance” Aysh said.
“He is not” Gage said slapping her. “He is not your fiance you cheap thing. You gave yourself to him”
Aysh has never been afraid like this. He dug his hand into her hair and dragged her to him with it. “Listen to me,we are getting married and no one is going to stop it. You are my wife,got it? If not i’m afraid you’re going to pay dearly with your life and the ones of those you love the most. Your dad,mum,Jasper,Pluto and even that Kade. It’s better you think about it,how your life is going to be useless after killing them all. Then i will give you a slow painful death. Trust me i can do that. Just comply,go in there and tell them you’re in love with me and want us to marry as soon as possible. If not….” He said as he pushed her away with her hair. “Understood?” He asked and there was no reply from her. She was so stubborn. “Understood?” He yelled making her flinch.
“Yes” She replied fighting back her unshed tears.
He took her hand in his and led her into the living room again. They had to look like the perfect couple now.
“Hey Gage” Ford winked at Gage when they got back into the living room and everyone attention turned to them.
“We’re in love now Mr Sherman” he said linking his hand through Aysh waist.

So,that’s it,she’s getting married?. So the unknown woman has been revealed, remains the guy. Kabir is there breaking someone’s heart not knowing he has a stepbrother already. ?
