That was the question floating in my head. Since it’s obviously karma being a b***h. After my first kiss with Van in the office, he began treating me special and different, taking me out more often. Then he asked me out to dinner and I straight up had an affair with my boss.

Since I’m trying to avoid that with Damon, the next best thing to do is trying to keep the relationship strictly platonic and professional. I needed to go back to my old self. Being feisty. I missed that part of me and she had to come back no matter what.

After working hours, I got my things ready to leave tired as hell. Damon, I mean Mr O’Cornner didn’t step out of his office after that incident. I was glad for that. Like I said, a platonic relationship.

The elevator dinged and a farmilar face walked out.

“Hi Elena..”

Catherine beemed full of smiles. I returned with a smile of my own. We hugged slightly before she pulled away.

“It’s so nice to see you again.”

She added still grinning.

“It really is.”

I agreed and she chuckled.

“You’re leaving so quickly. Do you have plans or anything?”

“Not really. I’m just tired I guess.”

I responded and I heard footsteps coming towards us.

“Ahh! The brother of the year.”

She remarked facing a figure behind me. I gulped and she moved to embrace him.

“Leaving so soon Miss Salvatore.”

He says directly behind me. I bit my lips caught in ditch.

“I’m just so tired. It’s closing time already.”

“I know.”

He cooley responded.

“I’ll see you tomorrow Sir.”

I made to get as far away as I could.

“Actually, Damon and I were going to grab dinner, if you’re hungry? I really would love to catch up with you.”

“That’s a great idea.”

Damon chirped making me choke.

“Umm, I don’t think that would be professional.”

I clipped turned to face them. Damon had a smirk on his face. I guess we skipped straight to dinner then.

“Like you said, it’s not working hours.”

I cursed myself mentally before taking a deep breath.

“I really don’t want to get in the middle of family time.”

“Please do. I can’t stand in”

Catherine responded making me fake a smile.

“Ummm….”

“Please….”

She cut me short pouting her lips. I darted my eyes to Damon. He looked amused obviously enjoying himself and the situation I was currently in. I chewed on my lips unable to think of another excuse not to go.

“So, that’s a yes!”

Catherine beemed excitedly.

“Yes.”

I heaved a large sigh clicking my tongue.

“This is going to be so much fun!”

“Yayyy!”

I exclaimed sarcastically licking my lower lip.

“You could’ve just said no…”

My subconscious added mockingly.

“Oh shut up you!”

I retorted getting into the elevator.
