CHAPTER 5
Kabir Dalvetti was in his office going through some files when Mr Moon walked in.
He was tired of files,for the past few days he had taken over as an acting chairman pending his father’s absence his life has been filled with files. He didn’t even have enough time to spend with his family. And the shareholders were a pain in his neck.
“I got an information about what the shareholders talked about at the meeting” Mr Moon said as he walked in.
“What did they talk about?” Kabir asked.
“They want to sell their remaining shares to AYSH GROUP so they can become a shareholder or managing director in her company” Mr Moon explained.
“What?!! How could they do that without informing me or my father?” Kabir said.
“And we just lost another 25% of our share to AYSH GROUP.” Mr Moon explained.
“What? How?”
“I really don’t know sir”
“So what’s happening now?” Kabir asked.
“They are having another meeting”
“What?! Again? I have to the present there” Kabir said grabbing his suit jacket from it’s stand. “What about the credentials i told you to submit to that girl?”
“No latest update sir”
Kabir stomped into the boardroom where the shareholders were holding thier meeting.
“What are you doing here?” A shareholder barked.
“How can you all be having a meeting at me and my father’s absence?” Kabir fired back.
There were mumbles between the shareholders. It was obvious they didn’t like him.
“Keep quiet everyone.” Kabir shot at them. “Whether you like it or not i’m the heir to this company and my father is still the chairman so you have no right to hold meetings at our absence. I’ve had enough”
“You’re so rude young boy. Do you realize we’re all old enough to be your father?”
“I don’t care!!!!!” Kabir fired.
Mr Moon couldn’t bring himself to do anything. He knew the shareholders had provoked Kabir. He was still standing at the corner of the boardroom when he saw the chairman walk into the boardroom with a staff supporting him. He was shocked to see the chairman. Nobody in the boardroom noticed himsince they are still giving themselves angry glares. “The chairman is here” He announced.
Everyone’s attention turned to the chairman as he walked to stand beside his son.
“Father,what are you doing here?” Kabir asked Mason who just motioned to him to keep quiet.
“I am very sorry about what has been happening in this company and i also apologize for my son’s rudeness” Mason said bowing his head.
“Dad,you don’t have to apologize to the people who betrayed you” kabir complained.
“Kabir,” Mason cautioned “Apologize to them”
Kabir was quiet for some time before he finally spoke up. “I’m sorry”
“I and my son will try our possible best to bring back the company to the way it was,we just need you people to endure with us for sometime” Mason said.
“You better do” A shareholder said as they all started packing their things and leaving the boardroom leaving Kabir,Mr Moon and Mason.
Immediately the last shareholder left the boardroom,Mason slumped into the chair nearest to him. “Dad,are you okay?” Kabir said holding his father in place.
“Yes i am” Mason said gasping for breath
“Dad you didn’t really have to come. Stop trying to be strong when you’re not.” Kabir said.
“So you want the shareholders to know i’m weak? In business you don’t have to show anyone you’re weak” Mason said.
“Dad we need to get you to the hospital,you’re not looking well”
“I just need some rest,send Javier over” Mason said trying to stand up but fell back into the seat.
“Mr Moon get Javier over here to take dad back home” Kabir said.
Minutes later Javier and Mr Moon ran back to the boardroom. Kabir and Mr Moon helped Mason to get on his feet before handing him over to Javier who took him out of the room.
“I got a call from AYSH GROUP” Mr Moon said.
“What did they say?” Kabir asked anxiously.
“They said Kade Bauer should come in for an interview”
“WOW. That’s good news” Kabir said joyously.
“Of course. The interview is tomorrow so you have to learn how to be ‘Kade’ and not ‘Kabir’.” Mr Moon cautioned
“Sure. Sure” Then his phone started ringing. “Hello mum” He said as he picked up his mother’s call.
“Kabir dear,how are you?” Dora asked from the other end of the line.
“Absolutely fine mum”
“You sound happy my dear,what’s the good news?”
“I do?”
“Yes”
“I guess i’m just happy”
“Is your father still there?”
“No,he left some minutes ago,he was looking sick”
“That stubborn man. Immediately he heard you were with those lions,he summoned Javier and started running over there” Dora said.
“Well,thank God he came,he saved me” Kabir said.
“Really? Oh my Mason is such a darling”
“Mum i have to go now,i have things to attend to”
“Okay son. Love you”
“Love you too. Bye”He said as he ended the call. “I have to start getting ready for my interview tomorrow” He said to Mr Moon said they both headed back to his office.
When they got back to his office,he and Mr Moon started working on some files again. After some time he found out that AYSH GROUP and two other companies has been buying a great deal of thier shares_AYSH GROUP in particular. He was determined to get into AYSH GROUP at all cost.
He checked the wall clock in the office and found out that the time was already 10:30 P:M. He had been engrossed in the files he was working on.
He asked Mr Moon to drop him off at his home before Mr Moon also went back to his house. As Kabir was entering the front door he bumped into Javier. “Javier!! You startled me” He exclaimed
“Sorry for that,i was waiting up for you” Javier said.
“Thanks. How’s dad’s health ’cause him and mum refused to tell me anything.”
“To say the truth,chairman is dying. I met with the doctor today and he told me chairman doesn’t have much time left if care is not taken.” Javier said. “Mrs chairman has been of great help but he doesn’t seem to improve at all”
“I’m so confused right now” Kabir said.
Javier took him to the dinning room and sat him down one of the chairs.
“Kabir,anything you want to do just tell me i will give you my full support,even your father will.” Javier told Kabir.
After thinking for some time Kabir decided to open up to him,after all he’s just like a second father to him. “I planned on going undercover” “Undercover?” Javier asked confused.
“Yes. To Ayesha Sherman,AYSH GROUP heiress”
“A woman?”
“Yes. A saucy and bossy one at that” Javier sighed before he continued. “Being an undercover is not an easy task especially when you’re opposite sex. You need to be extra careful with her. The rule of the game is that don’t get yourself entangled with her family and please don’t fall in love with her”
“How will i? She’s not my type of woman.” “That’s good to hear. You need to get some sleep now” Javier said to Kabir as he walked over to his bedroom.
