I had to admit, I woke up feeling amazing. I got out of bed wondering what I was going to wear to work. Stefan didn’t let me take most of my clothes.

I groaned and took a deep breath. My work shirt wasn’t dirty, I could manage that for today but I had no pants to wear.

I heard a soft knock. Unlocking the door, it was Rio again. He handed a sack and left without saying a word. I opened it up and there were clothes.

Most of them were extremely tight, the others were too short. I would definately complain about these later but for now, I found something suitable and placed them on my bed before hitting the showers.

Half an hour later, I was ready for work.

Trailing down the stairs, I met Stefan on the breakfast table.

“Eat.”

He commanded. I knew it was pointless to argue so I took a seat and started eating. Sharon would come get me and this would finally be over.

“My driver would take you to work, when you get off, here’s a burner phone. Call him.”

He said in a commanding tone,I took it and stood up.

“I’ll be late if I go now.”

“Oh and Lina, don’t get any ideas.”

He says firmly making me exhale. I rush out of the house quickly and he drives me to work.

It was almost closing time, I quickly got a phone from one of my co workers to call Sharon so she could help me.

📞 Hello… Who’s this? She asks tenderly.

📞 It’s Lina. Stefan took my phone, I couldn’t call back. I managed to convince him I wanted to go to work but it’s almost closing hours.

📞 Just hang tight, I’ll be there soon. She hangs up without another word and I fiddle with my fingers staring at the clock.

It was finally closing hours and everyone else was getting ready to go home. I got my things ready standing around nervously.

“Sharon please….”

I prayed silently. Just then, the burner phone started ringing. I thought I was going to call his driver. I hesistantly clicked answer and placed it on my ears.

📞 H-Hello. I stuttered into the receiver.

📞 Lina. Stefan’s gruffy voice came in

📞 You’re calling?

📞 Nope am magically on your phone. He retorts sarcastically making me roll my eyes.

📞 It’s closing hours right. Go outside.

He’s not here and yet he commands me. I move my feets outside.

📞 To your left, you’ll see your friend racing over to get you. Now you could get into the car, run away for maybe two months if you’re good and then I’ll just find you ago and maybe I’ll expose your friends to the other people she took money from.

I sucked in a harsh breath as he threatened me.

📞 Or to your right, you’ll see my driver who never left since morning. Get in and get your a$$ to my house.

I jump a little at his tone.

📞 Oh consider yourself fired too.

He hang up immediately. Sharon pulls over urging me to come in. I shook my head and run towards the other direction.

“Good choice.”
