_Have you ever wondered why different people pass through the same situation but come out differently?_
The simple reason boils down to the orientation of the people before, during and after the situation, most significantly during the situation. Every orientation is a function of the state of mind; your content.
The implication of this is that your mindset determines how you come out of every ordeal. Most times it is not really about what happened to you, it’s about your mindset during the situation.
There’s a popular story about the coke bottle that I personally challenge myself with. It talks about how the coke bottle complains that being overly shaken leads to it’s explosion when it’s opened, so the content of the bottle was emptied and replaced with water, but after the bottle is shaken again there was no explosion. The little experiment proved to everyone that it’s not really about the shaking of the coke bottle, it’s about its content.
It is often said that the only constant thing in Life is change.
It is an obvious truth that we are in critical times. And things will not remain the same after the effect of COVID-19 on every aspect of Life. The changes that will arise after this period will demand specific things from every one that makes it past this phase.
It’s impossible to offer what is not in one’s possession, and the best way to possess is to be!
So the best way to maximize this period is by working on “being”
Currently most people are living in fear and consequently are not able to maximize the lockdown to upgrade their minds. It’s imperative to handle this period with the right state of mind and enrich one’s mindset and skillset for the days ahead.
The mind must be exposed to sharpening contents, and efforts must be made to engage them practically.
So going forward the easiest way to achieve this is to carry out a true evaluation of one’s present stage and have a clear picture of what is to be achieved.
Getting this done might not really be a smooth sailing process, so discipline to follow through till the end must be put in place.
Being disciplined to follow through involves being able create a system for accountability and self appraisal.
When concerted effort is made towards achieving a “content upgrade” that is equal to or even more than the changes predicted, then its inevitable outcome that you will SOAR when this phase passes.
