Jumoke went back home but found out Fummi has left to her place already, she heaved and rushed down to her place and saw her doing some laundry.

 

“I thought I ask you to rest till I get back, Jumoke said.

 

“But I did, why are you back so soon? Fummi asked.

 

“I came to pick you, dress up let’s go, Jumoke said packing her clothes in.

 

“Wait dress up to where? Please I don’t want to go out, Fummi said.

 

“My boss birthday is today so I came to pick you na so you’ll cheer up, Jumoke said.

 

“To cheer me up? Just forget because I’m fine, Fummi said.

 

“But you are not. You want to tell me that the stress of going to my place not knowing you’ve gone already then I had to trek down here is all a waste? If you’re not coming with me then I am not going, Jumoke said.

 

“Madam please go to your birthday party, I have a lot to do at home, this few days I’ve not been myself the whole place is untidy, I have to do this, Fummi said.

 

“So if it is not today you’ll not do it tomorrow? Jumoke asked.

 

“I don’t want to go to anywhere and thats it, Fummi said and went in bringing out the clothes.

 

“Thanks fummi, sometimes you make me look like I am a fool or all the efforts to put smiles on your face is useless. I think I’ll just have to let you be, Jumoke said making Fummi shocked.

 

“Why are you saying this? I just explained things to you that…………. “And you know that is a lie but its fine, bye, Jumoke said and left and ignored Fummi calling her to stop.

 

Nonso seeing Jumoke return alone was so worried, “where is she? He asked.

 

“She bluntly refused to come despite how I tried, she replied.

 

“Did you make mention of me? Nonso asked.

 

“I didn’t, if I had did I don’t think she would have followed me either, Jumoke said.

 

“Now what are we going to do? Nonso asked.

 

“You just have to meet her at home, explain things to her and apologize thats all, Jumoke said.

 

“I’ll go there right away, Nonso said.

 

“No no not now. I have to be with you there Fummi can be stubborn some times, but I can’t leave now again, Jumoke said.

 

“I’ll wait for you then, Nonso said.

 

“You’re hungry? I’ll get you something to eat, Jumoke said and he smiled.

 

“You and Fummi just know me in and out, thank you, Nonso replied and she left……….

 

Frank and Festus arrived and called Nonso up but he kept ignoring, “please we are in Osun now just tell us where we meet you, Frank texted but Nonso still ignored.

 

“Frank what is it? Nonso finally picked up after eating.

 

“Why are ignoring my calls like I was the one who impregnated Chioma? Frank angrily asked.

 

“Oh who knows if it was a collective act, or is there anything else I need to know? Just so you know I am very scared of you two, Nonso said.

 

“You really believe I can do that? Frank asked.

 

“What do you want me to believe? Its still hard to believe Festus could do that to me so? Even if you didn’t sleep with Chioma you knew about it yet you kept shut and watched me suffer. You were busy smiling and giving me words of encouragement even when you know it is wrong, what kind of friend are you! Nonso shouted.

 

“Now you are wrong, I found out that night I called you, and that was the reason I informed you we’ll be coming down for the knocking of door. But how could I expose such thing knowing Chioma can do anything bad to us for destroying her day. We wanted telling you this when you get back to Osun before the cat was let out of bag, Frank said.

 

“It still makes no sense to me, I have the right to know about this and Chioma can’t do anything to you! Nonso shouted.

 

“You’re right but still I’m sorry okay, where are you? Frank asked..

 

“The bar i met first met Fummi, Nonso replied.

 

“I think I can trace it, thanks, Frank said and the line went dead…………

 

Nonso covered his head on the table and slept off without knowing.

 

“There’s no party going on here ma, Jumoke heard someone said behind her. She turned to see Fummi, “you came? She asked.

 

“Yes I did and I can see few people here with a guy sleeping, what a boring birthday party, Fummi said and Jumoke laughed.

 

“I only wanted you to leave the house and buy me drink, Jumoke said.

 

“Jumoke please don’t do else I’ll cry here for you, do you know I had to hurry up with the laundry so I’ll meet up with you seeing the way you angrily left I was not happy, Fummi said.

 

“I was not happy too na so buy me drink. But please help me wake that brother up else I’ll break his head there, Jumoke said pointing at Nonso.

 

“Just let him sleep and face your work, Fummi said.

 

“No my boss won’t tolerate that and he has been sleeping since morning, Jumoke said.

 

“OK o but Jumoke you’re wicked o for playing such pranks on me, Fummi said going to Nonso and tapped him.

 

“Please sir can you wake up, Fummi said and Nonso lifted his head with his sleepy eyes.

 

“Nonso, Fummi whispered and turned to look at Jumoke who was busy smiling.

 

“What’s all this? Is this why you brought me here? Fummi shouted.

 

“Fummi please put the blame on me, Nonso said.

 

“Girlfriend can you calm down please, there’s something you need to know, Jumoke said.

 

“There nothing I need to know here, I have to go, Fummi said but Nonso held her going on his knees.

 

“I messed up yes I know, but its not intentional. I did love you Fu…… “Just stop now cause i once believed that but it was all a lie, Fummi shouted.

 

“It wasn’t, I was only scared thinking its not going to work out between us, that’s because I’m from a royal family and I can’t get a mate far. I didn’t know how to tell you this because I didn’t want to loose you please forgive me, Nonso said and Fummi sniffed.

 

“So what now? You’ve found your mate so go meet her, Fummi said.

 

“Here i am and she’s just before me. The mate given to me by my mom wasn’t fit for me and I’ve come back here to take back my mate, and its you Fummi, Nonso said and Jumoke touched her slowly as she stood shock.

 

“Its true dear, this time around he’s back for real just as you’ve always prayed, Jumoke calmly said.

 

“I wasn’t praying for him, Fummi said.

 

“You prayed for someone to un break your heart and he is the answer to your prayer. Please go back to the only one who made you happy, Jumoke said.

 

“Is this really happening? Fummi said in tears.

 

“Please forgive me, this time i won’t leave you no matter what. Fummi please be my wife, Nonso said bringing out a ring.

 

“Oh my God! Fummi are you going to say yes or I’ll gladly do it for you? Jumoke happily said admiring the ring.

 

“Nonso please isn’t it to quick? Fummi asked.

 

“I delayed and you were almost gone, i don’t know what I am waiting for anymore but I know i want to spend the rest of my life with you. Please be my wife, Nonso said.

 

“Yes, yes yes yes yes! Fummi shouted and hugged him happily.

 

“Congratulations bro, Nonso heard a voice behind him, he turned and saw Frank and Festus.
