Keys For Excellence In JAMB
Hey Guys,
I will like to share 5 keys that can be used to hit the upper quartile scores in JAMB.
I had the experience of writing JAMB 3 times. Although my first 2 scores where not bad on my 3rd try I learnt certain principles that helped me go beyond my target score and hit 286 to God’s praise.
The first principle is Time Management. Succeeding in JAMB is not so much a factor of how much you have read but it’s factored by how well you can utilise your knowledge to answer questions within the provided time frame.
Excellence in JAMB requires that you properly distribute time to each question
The next key is in the preparation aspect. If you were given 2 weeks to study for JAMB. It will be wise firstly to consider the subjects you are handicapped on and then develop a strategy to effectively build strength there. How?
Firstly note relevant sections within those topics that regularly come out and then solve past questions on those areas. After solving the Past Questions you will have a better gauge of your competence level. With that the next step will be to review those topics using a suitable Learning Material. And then solve past questions concurrently. As you do that you can gain more ground on the topic and better prepare.
The next key you have to utilise is Focus. Focus goes a long way even beyond speed. Focus enables you channel your mind productively towards the subject matter. One of the ills that could make an above average Student under-perform is distractions and not just external distraction here but internal distractions.
If when you are going for an exam, your mind is not at rest then take time to first settle that internal turmoil before going in for your sitting. Make sure your Mind is at peace and in a good state of Mind. Never get into the hassle of last minute rush. Prepare will before your exams and trust God’s Grace.
