Nanya sighed and sighed as she sat down with Louis in the car, she thought of best ways to bring up the issue bothering her, she shifted from time to time, sweating profusely.

“what is it Nanya, you look depressed” Louis asked.

“Am fine sir, it’s just after work stress” she answered looking sideways.

“You are not fine dear, you are sweating despite the air conditioner in my car and you have been shifting uneasily, mind telling me what the problem is?” Louis asked parking by the corner of the rood and he turned off the ignition.

“Are you going somewhere sir, after two months?” she blurted out suddenly.

“Somewhere?, like whe…re?” Louis stuttered.

“Like traveling, relocating, I mean anywhere” Nanya answered confused.

“Eeeeeem, where did you hear that from?” he asked.

“Oh, never mind sir” she said sighing hard.

“Nanya?” Louis called expecting her to say more.

“Sir, how long have you known Charles?” she asked after few seconds.

“Charles?, right from childhood, we attended the same creche, primary, secondary and the same university, the same course, served the same year but in different states, but then work brought us back together” he explained.

“The company is yours right?” she asked again.

“yea, it’s mine, after the death of Charles’ father, I told him to work with me and i made him the manager” he answered peering closely at her.

“what of his mother?”

“She relocated to the states after her husband’s’s burial, saying that she didn’t want Enugu state to remind her of the dead, and why do i feel like a detective is interrogating me?” he asked smiling.

“No sir, eeeem, i was just wondering why he doesn’t like me, that’s all” she said waving her hands in a defensive manner.

“Is he still been mean to you?, don’t worry, i will talk to him” he answered.

“You do trust him right?” she asked.

“I trust him with my life, he is my buddy” he said with a nod.

“Okay” she rolled her eyes “buddy indeed” she scoffed.

“Yes, that reminds me, what is going on between you and Leo?” Louis asked rolling his eyes with jealousy plainly written on his face.

“Nothing sir, he is just my friend” she shrugged.

“Nanya?” he called out slowly

“Sir?” she answered

“I love you, I know it is too early to say that, but i can’t help it, i feel nothing but peace anytime am with you, i feel revived” he said taking her hands.

“Sir?, i eeem don’t even know what to say, eeem” she stuttered.

“I didn’t tell you for you to say anything, am telling you so that you will know that my heart skips each time i see you” he said dropping her hands and turning on the ignition. “Let me take you home” he said driving off.

Louis checked his wrist watch over and over again to know the time, it was already 9 in the morning and Nanya was yet to be at work, he sighed, picked up his phone to call her, just then, she rushed in breathing hard.

“Good morning sir, am sorry i came late, my sister’s school bus arrived late today and i had to wait for them to show up before leaving for work, am so sorry sir” she said all at a time.

“Who cares about the reason you came late, I was so worried, i thought something bad happened to you” Louis said slowly.

“Am fine sir” she smiled.

“Nanya?” he called softly.

“Sir?” she answered looking up at him.

“It’s high time you stop calling me sir, you are sounding too professional” he said walking close to her.

“So what do you prefer i call you?, your name?” she smiled.

“Something sweet, like baby or darling, infact anything sweet” he rolled his eyes.

“Okay, what of the pillar of my life?” Nanya smirked.

“No please, allow the cement to dry first, it’s just one day and the cement is still wet” Louis replied letting out a little laugh making Nanya join him.

“Okay baby” Nanya said with a wink.

“I love you Nanya, so much” he said bending down a bit leaving a little space between their lips.

“I love you too, Louis” she replied as he claimed her lips in a kiss.

she closed her eyes and kissed him back passionately with her hands caressing his back romantically, he stopped kissing her and stared into her eyes lovingly and then said,

“I want to live, because of you, you are my ray of hope” he hugged her tightly with his eyes closed.

“Louis?” Nanya called.

“Yes babe” he answered breaking the hug.

“what do you mean by what you said about wanting to live because of me?” she asked looking up at him.

“Before you came into my life, I buried myself in my work and my routine was moving from my house to the office and then back to the house, so boring but am willing to change all that because of you” he muttered.

“Okay, if you say so, and yes, you have a meeting with with Mr Ade, from Blings, let me get the documents for you, i will be right back” she said walking out.

Charles walked in almost immediately and coughed behind Louis, he sat down clumsily eyeing Louis.

“what is it Charles?” Louis asked sighing.

“Are you guys already dating?” he asked.

“You mean Nanya and i?” Louis asked stupidly.

“Who else are you in love with?” Charles hissed.

“Yes, we are dating, just yesterday actually, and look Charles, i know you don’t like her, but as long as she is now my woman, you have to treat her right” Louis muttered.

“what if she finds out and leave the same way Betty did” Charles asked.

“Listen Charles, I have fallen helplessly in love with this girl, I feel like she is the remedy to what am passing through, and because of her, I have decided to live a little and focus on loving her” he sighed heavily.

“Can you hear yourself Louis?, you will end up hurting that innocent girl if she wakes up one day and not see you beside her, think Louis, think” Charles shouted.

“I can’t think, i can’t even think of anything apart from Nanya, she has clouded my mind, am madly in love with her, you have to understand” Louis shouted back.

“That is not how things are been done, love is not always enough, you should consider her feelings too” he scoffed.

“You think am happy?, you think am glad knowing that i might not be around to stay with her forever, am trying Charles, am trying” he let out a silent sob as tears dropped down.

“Am going back to my office, think about it, have a nice day” he left leaving Louis who weeped silently.
