” Angel can’t be dead.” Selene said and rushed at Angelino who’s lying on the bed lifeless.

” He’s not breathing..” she exclaimed.

” No , it can’t happen.” Skyler sobbed.

” I’m sorry we did our best.” The doctor said to no one in particular.

” Your stupid father has finally succeeded. He will pay with his life.” Thando yelled.

” Please cover him.. and take him to the mortuary.” The doctor said to the nurse.

” Please don’t. Let him stay here till tonight. I can’t believe he’s gone. You can’t just take him to the mortuary.” Selene said.

” Most patients needs the bed.” The doctor said .

” We’ll pay for the bed if that’s what you want.” Selene Said and weeped.

” Alright. But it’s a bit barbaric to keep a dead body in a hospital bed.” The doctor said.

” You heard her , we’ll pay for the bed.” Skyler added sobbing.

” Alright madam Skyler.” The doctor said and left with his nurse.

” I can’t believe this..” lorah said and cleaned her tears.

” You cost almost everything.” Selene said to lorah.

” I need to speak with my father.” Skyler said and rushed out.

” I’m sorry , I’m not even pregnant.” Lorah burst out.

” What ?” They exclaimed.

” I’m not pregnant. I framed the test results , I wanted lino for myself and I was jealous he was in love with Skyler.” Lorah explained.

” How dare you b***h ?” Selene said and slapped lorah.

” Just get out.” Thando ordered.

” I’m sorry.” She cried.

” Get out.” Alex added.

She ran out crying.

” What are we gonna do with him ?” Thando asked referring to angelino’s body.

” We should pray.” Selene said.

” I don’t even believe in God .” Thando said.

” I do but I’m a wack as***ole.” Alex said brushing his hair with his hands.

” We should pray. Lino was our friend, we can’t just let him die like that.” Selene said.

” What are you saying ? You watched him die. He’s not even breathing anymore , so God’s gonna perform a miracle and restore his soul. f**k we are screwed.” Thando said.

” I believe..” Selene said sitting close to angelino.

She cleaned her eyes that was rushing down tears and hold his hands.

” He was like a big brother to me.” Selene said cleaning her tears continuously.

” Dear lord, please don’t let our enemies laugh at us.” She said softly and continued crying.

Skyler was at her mom’s ward , she was awake and a bit conscious. She cried and smiled faintly at Skyler who was crying.

” Dad has killed him.” Skyler sob.

” You’ve killed everything that matters to me.” She continued.

” I’m sorry.” Jonah said without looking at Skyler.

” Why are you sorry ? It’s of no use , you’ve taken my joy. Dad why ?”

” Skyler we are sorry.” Edna said on her bed.

” You will not do that to your true blood , you failed as a parent , you don’t care about me , you don’t care about anyone except your selfish and devilish political ambitious. I need to know who are my true parents are. They hold the motherly and fatherly love I need.” Skyler said and wailed loudly.

” You don’t understand. I loved you as my own, we wanted the best for you.” Jonah said.

” What best ? The dead boy was the best I needed. He was my everything , you don’t know anything about love. You forced me to Justin , I thought mother would understand me better but you don’t care either. You were always supporting your husband because I was not your child.” Skyler cried.

” Skyler stop.” Jonah said turning to Skyler who was crying uncontrollably.

” We did our best to give you the best life, we are sorry for not listening to you. You’re right we might be selfish doesn’t mean we don’t care about you. We treated you like our child , we have never raised a finger on you because we loved you. I’m sorry for angelino’s life , if there’s a way that I can prove to you that I’m sorry I will. I’m sorry, I thought Justin was nice enough. His father means a lot to my family because he was a very good man. You brought luck to us sky.” Jonah said.

She cried softly and sat down.

” Your dad is right. We are sorry.” Edna added.

” Who are my parents ?” Skyler asked.

” They are dead.” Edna replied.

” That can’t be true…” Skyler said ready to sob again.

” It’s true. I once had a son but I lost him. My husband and I were worse than paupers. We were suffering , people treated us like rags. My husband traveled leaving me behind with our son, he went in search of a better life. I lost my son one night , he didn’t die but was kidnapped. They were three men all armed with guns , they threatened to ki*ll me if I don’t give them the child , I refused and they forcefully collected him from me. I couldn’t bear the pain, I watched them took him away from me. My husband returned but I was really sick since he was all I had. I couldn’t give birth again , because I gave birth to him through medical circumstances. Your mother was my friend, she was abused by a man who was later shot to death by the armed forces , he was a criminal. We took you in from your mother, she died when you were six months. It was barely a year we took you in when things turned around for us…” Edna narrated.

” Yes she is right. I saw Richard Bart’s, Justin’s father. He made me an entrepreneur to be in charge of his company in Johannesburg. That was how our story changed. We took you as our own , we decided to send you to London, Richard pick an interest in you and I liked his family too so I thought it would be nice to introduce you to Justin. He was a good boy and I have no other daughter. We later confirmed that the men who took my son were in charge of selling body parts to desperate people who needed it. Our son was murdered. I like you a lot. We are really sorry if you think we sold you out..” Jonah ended.

Skyler cried and Jonah consoled her.

” I’m sorry.” Jonah added.

” Sorry to disturb the family meeting..” a doctor said.

” Mrs edna you’re awake.” The doctor touched her forehead and smiled.

” You didn’t use the blood anymore.” Jonah said.

” Not really , we thought she might need it but she’s fine and strong too.” The doctor said.

” At least there’s a drip.”

” So what are we gonna do about my blood ?”

” Keep it in our blood bank.” The doctor replied and Jonah sigh.

A nurse walked in.

” Doctor the boy who died is breathing now.” She said.

” What boy ?” The doctor asked.

” Angelino..” the nurse replied.

” What !” Skyler exclaimed standing up.

” That’s not true..”

” It is. You can come and confirm.” The nurse said and hurried out including Skyler.

” I will be back..” Jonah said and followed.

They walked into the ward , Angelino was being attended to by a matron who was trying to put him back to sleep.

” Angel.” Skyler called.

” So what are they doing here ?” Thando asked.

” He’s your governor.” Alex whispered.

” Stupid governor. He’s so lucky selene’s prayers brought him back to life.” Thando said and clucked.

” I’m really sorry guys.” Jonah pleaded.

” Enough quarrel please , he’s asleep and he needs space and a donor.” The doctor said.

” I will be the donor.” Both Selene and Skyler said.

” What kind of donor ?”

” A blood donor.” The doctor replied.

” I will give him my blood.”

” Calm down. It needs to match with his.” The doctor said.

” What’s your blood type ?” The doctor asked referring to the ladies.

” O positive.” Selene replied.

” And you ?” He asked referring to Skyler.

” Same.” She said.

” Then you can’t be a donor. His blood type is rare. B , and the governor happens to have it. Can you be a donor ?” She asked referring to Jonah.

Skyler stare at him in rage and he nodded.

” Sure.” He said.

” Thanks. The rest of you will do me a favour and stay out of his ward for now.” The doctor said and leaving and Jonah followed.

” That was weird.” Selene said on their way out .

” Real weird. Jonah a donor for a boy he wants to ki*ll.” Alex said turning to Skyler.

” What did you tell your dad ?” They asked referring to Skyler.

She smiled and shrugged.

” I’m glad he’s back. I think Selene needs to be a nun.” Thando said.

” No way.” She said and giggles.

” Seriously , God loves you just like Angelino too. You deserve some accolades.” Alex added.

” Yeah. Where’s lorah ?” Skyler asked.

” We don’t even know. She’s not even pregnant.” Selene said.

” What , why would she lie ?”

” Because she hates you just like me.” Thando said and Skyler frowned a bit.

” Thando…” Selene called.

” What ? Sky contributed to almost everything that is happening to Angelino , she almost killed him. If not for her selfish attitude he should be at home living peacefully and we might be at spa’s eating and watching strippers shake their a$$ on the pole.” Thando said and they giggle.

” He hated women and you made him fall in love with you. You’re lucky your greedy dad had to be a donor for our resurrected friend and brother.” Thando said and they laugh.

” Seriously..” Selene said chuckling.

” And it’s a bit painful Skyler’s not even pregnant for angel.” Selene said and winked at Skyler.

” No way, I’m not ready..” she said and giggles.

” But we are ..” Selene said and the guys chuckled.

About few hours Angelino was a bit conscious but he was fast asleep. The doctor called Jonah to his office for a discussion and Skyler followed.

” I wanted to say something..” she began.

” What ?” Jonah asked.

” I noticed something on your blood type including the patient. I had to run a DNA test , he’s your son.” The doctor said.

” What ! How ?” Skyler asked.

” I don’t know. But the test shows he’s your son. You can look at it.” The doctor said showing them the results.

” That can’t be true.” Skyler said softly.

” My son is dead , a long time ago.” Jonah said.

” So how sure are you ?” The doctor asked and smiled at Jonah.

” He’s my son ? I almost killed my son ?” Jonah said and sob gently.
