Final Episode

President R. Mensah: I am very fine senior Alex, please help my new found friend. He was shot trying to save me and madam CDS, that youngman who has been shot, take an extra measure on him because he is very dangerous. He and my vice president were responsible for the serial kidnapping in Takoradi and other parts of the country. If he tries anything funny, sh00t to ki*ll is the order I have given to you.

CDS: Your Excellency, there is no cause for alarm, you can trust me on that.

Junior: Daddy are you okay?

Twum Boafo: (in a faint voice) I think so my boy, I am so proud of you and the bravery you displayed towards that man. You have indeed made me a proud father and I am grateful God planted you in me.

Hon. Asantewaa: (hugs the president) Your Excellency I thank the most high God for your life.

President R. Mensah: Madam Asantewaa please help me thank this man and his brave son for their unflinching support and love they channelled towards me. The youngman rescued me from the emergency exit booth on time if not I would have passed out and died of suffocation. As if that was not enough, he helped me through the forest until his father came into the picture and took over. Their brilliant plan was what made you guys come to meet us. I present to you Mr Kwame Twum Boafo and his son Kwame Twum Boafo Junior.

Hon. Asantewaa: May God richly bless you for your selflessness and kindness, you could have lost your lives trying to help the president out and I will recommend the president to reward you with a national award for your high level of prolific intelligence and patriotism.

Man: I could not agree with you less madam Asantewaa, but what is a boy at his age doing at this time of the day in this thick forest?

President R. Mensah: I will answer that question senior Alex, the youngman and his peers come to the forest to hunt for a fawn annually before the festival of their village is celebrated. He felt like easing himself last evening and he excused himself to do that, through that he came across my emergency exit booth and out of curiosity and bravery, he opened the booth to see me struggling for breath.

Inspector Bediako: Indeed everything happens for a reason. So if the youngman didn’t get the urge to ease himself last night, he wouldn’t have come across our president and he would have died inside the emergency exit booth. So how can we help for you to get the fawn?

Twum Boafo: (receiving first aid from one of the officers) There is a sacred place some few kilometres ahead where we can get a fawn from.

Man: Some men will go to the place you direct them so they try and get Junior his fawn. I think after that, they will escort him to safety so he sends the fawn home. How about that?

Twum Boafo: That won’t be bad but no one must see your men on sight if not their efforts will be in vain.

Man: Boys you heard Mr Twum Boafo so follow his instructions and do as he says as we move the president to safety.

Captain Teye: Sir the chopper will be in soon, I will throw a colour signal in the open where we will assemble and be conveyed back to the city.

President R. Mensah: Guys I am sorry but after what happened yesterday, I would prefer to travel back to the city by road.

Hon. Asantewaa: But your Excellency that would be a stressful journey after all you have been through? With the helicopter we will be in the air force base in some few minutes time so you can rest properly and address the nation later in the day.

President R. Mensah: Your point is a laudable one but our earlier escape plan from this place was to go and seek refuge in Mr Twum Boafo’s place so that, I travel back to the city when the coast is clear. I am not in a rush to get to the city after coming across these brave and selfless men.

Man: (shoots a drone into the air to determine the distance to the roadside) Mr president if we are going on foot to the roadside, then we will have to walk for almost a mile and half.

President R. Mensah: That was the initial plan so I am cool with that. How severe is the wound of Mr Twum Boafo?

Medical Officer: Sir luckily and surprisingly, the bullet didn’t do any damage to his rib. After a successful surgery he should be back on his feet after a week or two. I have stopped the blood from oozing out before he bleeds to death.

Hon. Asantewaa: That means he has to be airlifted to the city right?

Medical Officer: I am afraid so ma’am.

Twum Boafo: No I don’t want to be faraway from my woman, she is a matron of the nearest hospital in town. If there is anywhere I want to be, that is where I would love to be.

Medical Officer: But sir you need an immediate surgery.

President R. Mensah: Officer you heard the request of my friend, just do as he has instructed.

Medical Officer: Yes sir, mando you and the guy there should do an immediate improvised stretcher that will help us convey the man out of this place.

Inspector Bediako: Guys let us move to the spot Mr Twum Boafo directed us to, if we can get the fawn I think the best time is now when there is still a little bit of darkness.

Twum Boafo: (in a faint voice) Junior you know what has happened here must remain here right?

Junior: Yes daddy.

Twum Boafo: Aunt Adwoa will come for you either today or early tomorrow morning from the palace.

Junior: Okay daddy, please get better soon.

Twum Boafo: I will my superman, also please take care of yourself and stay away from trouble. (hugs the son)

President R. Mensah: All my life, I have never met someone as brave and intelligent as you are even at your tender age, I choose to call you my hero and superman, I will be looking forward to meeting you at the Jubilee House very soon. Thank you for everything you did for me, your name has been engraved in my heart in the letter of gold. One more thing, this is a symbol of power and authority, only a few important people in this country have one, I am giving mine to you as a token of friendship and appreciation. (takes the coat of arms emblem off his suit and fixes it on juniors t-shirt and gives him a warm handshake)

Junior: I am very grateful and honoured to have met you and was able to offer my assistance to you Mr President. I promise to keep this very important gift well so that nothing happens to it. (everyone claps for junior)

Hon. Asantewaa: You deserve a Star of the Volta medal and I want to plead with your dad to make me your foster mother right from today.

Twum Boafo: (smiles) Who am I to refuse your request madam chief of staff. My son I am very proud of you and today I can beat my chest with pride that I have a warrior as my son.

Inspector Bediako: Let us move now guys. Senior Akoto, I will see you later.

Man: Okay my brother, be safe and let’s stay in touch through communication.

Fast Forward:

The CDS and her boys transports the traitors (James Bugri, Nii Nortey, Hajia Ramatu, the police and military officers who were involved) back to the city with the help of the Western Command under a very high and tight security.

Inspector Bediako and his team got not one fawn but two of them, they tied them up and escorted junior carefully to a place closer to the village without been spotted by anyone. A villager saw junior carrying the two sacred animals and he raised an alarm for the entire village to know that one of the boys sent to the forest to hunt for the fawn is home. Musket and other local firearms were fired into the air to signal the entire village that victory had been won and that the festival can now commence, a search party was formed to go back into the bush to get the other contenders back home because someone had crossed the finishing line.

At the other side, by request of Twum Boafo, he was conveyed to the house of the matron instead of the hospital. Thankfully the matron had some medical instruments in the her house so with the help of the military medical officer, Twum Boafo was operated upon and the bullet was taken out of his body. The matron made some calls to the hospital and blood was sent to her house as Twum Boafo had lost a lot of blood. The president at this time trued calling the wife with madam Asantewaa’s phone to inform her that he is not dead and that she should keep their conversation secret and that he will be home soon but her phone was off, he tried to send her a text message but after typing the message, he discarded it. Later Inspector Bediako joins them in the matron’s house and the president chances on him with a mobile phone conversation he was doing.

On Phone:

Inspector Bediako: Hello darling, how are you doing?

Caller: I am fine and trust you are also doing same?

Inspector Bediako: Oh yes my sweetheart. Are you at work?

Caller: I just got down from the car at the car park and about to enter the studio. Mmmm this that you are calling me this early morning, I hope all is well and I am safe?

Inspector Bediako: (laughs) You are as safe as being in the pocket of the pope. You have been giving me tough time with my proposal just because I haven’t given you any major information that you will use as bulletin for your program.

Caller: Of course inspector, you have been working on big cases in this country and it was on one of such cases that you met me. I have pleaded with you severally to just give me one top story to work on but you always give an excuse that you swore an oath of allegiance not to disclose any classified information of yours to me and you also want me to give you my heart and accept your proposal?

Inspector Bediako: So Wendy all you are saying now is that, if I give you a top class story you would accept my proposal?

Caller: Well if the story makes great wave, I would go on a date with you and if possible, I will think of accepting your proposal. I think that is a good deal?

Inspector Bediako: Well accepting to go on a date with me for the first time is even a good sign of victory my dear.

Caller: Okay so now that we are getting somewhere, what is the story that you have for me?

Inspector Bediako: My dear am letting you in on a matter that relates to the security and safety of the country. Wendy the president is not dead, he is alive and sound.

Caller: (spills the drink in her mouth) What did yoy just say Inspector?

Inspector Bediako: You heard me right my dear. President Reedolf Mensah is alive and safe with my team and I. We are yet to move to the city but for now we are keeping it on a low.

Caller: Ah but the information we got was that, the presidential plane was hit by a missile which took the lives of all occupants on board so how did the president escape from the plane or he is into practising of vudu?

Inspector Bediako: My dear the president is not into any vudu or occultic practice. For now I can’t explain everything to you into details, but I can reliable confirm you that the first gentleman of the land who we presumed dead is alive and safe with the rescue team that I was part of.

Caller: So what happens to the vice president who was sworn in last night?

Inspector Bediako: Oh that evil man? Can you imagine that man and his evil accomplices were behind the attack on the President’s plane? He did that to have an easy way to the presidential seat. My dear that man as I am talking to you right now has been arrested together with his accomplices who are Hon. Nii Nortey, Hon. Hajia Ramatu and some security personnels, who are currently in the custody of the Chief of Defense Staff and her 64 Battalion team coming to Accra.

Caller: Coming to Accra?

Inspector Bediako: Yes we caught them close to the scene where the presidential plane crushed this dawn.

Caller: Inspector this information of yours that you are passing on to me is too much for me to consume and digest. What if I go live on air and break the news which turns out to be false? Do you realise I will lose my job and my station will find itself in a very tight situation?

Inspector Bediako: Why would I mislead a lady I admire and want to spend the rest of my life with? I have known you to be a tough lady who has a lot of followers on air and online that is why I am letting you in on this very important information. I thought you wanted a big headline for today and also wanted to be the first to break the news on air in the country and world?

Caller: I am tough but you should know even Jesus Christ who knew he will resurrect after his death was scared at the last minutes of his life. Moses who had a direct access with God was also scared to hit his rod on the rock when God instructed him to do so for water to come out. Jonah was equally scared to God and do the bidding of God because he feared the people he was asked to go and preach to. Give me one good reason why I shouldn’t also be scared to break this news.

Inspector Bediako: You want one reason but I will give you more than that, first when the news goes viral finally, it would boost your viewership and a lot of people will follow you and your station the more. Secondly this can help you win the Radio and Television Personality Award easily. Thirdly now anything you say will be held with great believe and credibility. Infact there are tens of reasons that I can give you but time is not on our side so are you in or not?

Caller: Inspector hmmmmmmm? You let me first discuss it with my programmes director and producer before I go on air. You will hear from me later after my show.

Inspector Bediako: Okay my dear, I will be expecting your call and our date confirmation. I love you.

Caller: I have heard you Inspector.

Inspector Bediako: That is my girl. (ends the call and turns to see the president staring at him from behind)

President R. Mensah: So what people have been saying that the police is not good with secrets is true huh?

Inspector Bediako: (very shocked and out of words as he scratches his head) Your Excellency, did you hear anything?

President R. Mensah: Unfortunately for you I heard everything from start to end. How could you betray me and the others by walking out here to trade my safety to a date or proposal?

Inspector Bediako: (so ashamed) Please forgive me your Excellency, it is the work of the devil. I never planned to disgrace myself this way. I felt the only exit for me to use in getting that young lady was this very important information I let out. I know you are disappointed in me but please find a place in your heart and forgive me.

President R. Mensah: (looks up and shakes his head) For some good deeds you have done for me in recent times, I will overlook what just happened and pretend it never happened but I hope this lady in question is worth the secret you gave out?

Inspector Bediako: Sir she is worth every single word I uttered out to her. She is in the person of Wendy Osei Adonteng.

President R. Mensah: (quizzes) Wendy Osei Adonteng? Isn’t she the tv anchor of TV1?

Inspector Bediako: Precisely so your Excellency, she is the one.

President R. Mensah: Bring her to me after your date, for your sake I will grant her a one on one interview.

Inspector Bediako: Really? Mr President you will do all this for my sake?

President R. Mensah: Yes I think this will even cement your chances of winning her heart for good and it would pave way for you to have a good lasting relationship with her. (walks away)

Inspector Bediako: Thank you so much Mr President for this generous offer. You have made my day so bright with this opportunity you have given to Wendy through me. God bless you sir and keep you safe from any evil eye or mind.

President R. Mensah: (turns back) Before I forget, that news can only be broken to her when you finally go on your romantic date with her. I will equally sponsor that date when the time comes.

Inspector Bediako: I don’t know how to express my joy and gratitude to you Mr President.

President R. Mensah: I owe you that favour my brother, on this earth to whom much is given, much is always expected from that person. You helped to get my kidnapped daughter home and as if that was not enough, you risked your life to come and rescue me from the bush. Now let’s go inside before the others notice our absences.

In the Car:

Audrey: Lovia I really enjoyed the waakye you got for us this morning. The black pepper was very hot and the spices in the food was also to my satisfaction, honestly I will need the receipe for the meal so I can prepare some for my family when we go back to the States.

Lovia: I am glad you enjoyed the food, I was sceptical from the onset if you can stand the hot black pepper but from your face, I realised you are rather enjoying it.

Denzel: I told you Ghanaian dishes were one of the best in the world if not the best but you were aurging with me saying, Gambian foods are the best. You wait till you taste our fufu and Ghana jollof.

Lovia: Gambian food? Are those kind of foods sold in the States as well?

Denzel: Yes you will get it in some communities where Gambians dominate. For her, because of a project she came to do at that place for 4years, she has been making noise on their local meals and even claim, the Gambian jollof is better than ours.

Lovia: Wait till you taste my Ghanaian jollof then you can pass your judgement on both foods. We will be in Kumasi soon and I will take you to one of the finest local joints in the garden city for a meal you will never forget the taste.

Audrey: Well until then, my fingers are crossed. For now your waakye is the best meal I have tasted so am waiting for the other ones then I can pass my judgement careful.

At the Studio’s of TV1:

Producer: Wendy this information of yours is too much for me to allow you to go on air and voice it out. What if the news is not true, do you know the consequences and problems it could bring to this media house?

Programmes Director: I still maintain the fact that we should ignore this noise and go with the programme outline for the day. I can’t go and answer to any BNI or National Security Personnel on something I can’t vouch for.

Wendy: You guys have really surprised me this morning, since we started working together, have I done anything that will drag the name of this company to the mud? This breaking news would rather increase our followers and viewers and also boost our client base, please trust me on that?

Producer: See Wendy, my wife gave birth just last two weeks and I wouldn’t like to engage myself in anything that will let me lose my job. The salary is not to our expectation but it is better than what our sister stations are paying their workers. Let me please enjoy my work here in peace and not pieces.

Programme Director: Tell her for me my brother, with me I don’t want to do anything that will involve the police or any of the security services.

Wendy: Guys if you don’t want to support me, I will do this alone and if the glory comes, believe me if I say I would take the glory alone. I am putting my job on the line should anything go wrong with my statement.

Producer: If you say so, I want put it on record that you are alone on this and should anything happen I won’t be seen in your corner. Again I want you to know that you are on you own the moment we go live on air.

Wendy: I am okay with that and thank you for giving me the chance to do what is right. You will thank me later for my courage and stubbornness.

Programme Director: I maintain and repeat my words, Wendy if it goes wrong you are on your own and I won’t stand to defend you when you are summoned by any of the security services. We are almost behind time so let us go live on air. Now lighting man, get ready for we are going live in the next five seconds. Five, four, three, two, one and action.

Wendy: Helloooooo lovely viewers both home and in your respective offices I greet you. This lovely morning happens to be a very wonderful one and today we will see a little change in the way this important programme airs. Before I introduce my guest for today’s episode I have some unconfirmed reports coming in and it’s going to take a lot of guts to release the news to you guys but first let me take my first quick commercial break and when I am back, I will brief you on the unconfirmed reports I have under my sleeves. Don’t touch the remote for I will be right back after the short commercial break.

Matron’s House:

Matron: Your Excellency and my important dignitaries please food is ready so please let us go to the dinning table.

Hon. Asantewaa: Thank you so much madam, you have really made us felt at home. Please how is Mr Twum Boafo fairing now?

Matron: He is resting after we took the bullet out from his body. He wanted to join us here but I told him to rest until the blood infusion on him is finished.

Man: I am really starving and I feel my legs wobbling now, honestly Mr Twum Boafo and his son junior are one hell of brave guys. The courage they summoned back in the bush is very commendable and that youngman will be a great man if he joins the army in the future.

President R. Mensah: That will be if he wants to walk that path. Madam please we are under your mercies, please dish out my food for me since I am so starving that I feel I can swallow a whole whale this moment.

Matron: Hahahahaha okay I have heard you sir. Mr President, I feel honoured serving you your meal this morning.

Back at the Studio’s of TV1:

Wendy: Welcome back my cherished viewers watching from your homes and respective offices and not forgetting my online viewers. Before the short commercial break I told you I have some unconfirmed reports to share with you before I introduce my guest for today’s episode. I know your ears are itching to hear what I have for you so I would go straight to the point. This morning I had a called with the information that our president, his Excellency President Reedolf Mensah whom we are currently mourning is still alive.

First Lady: (spills her drink from her mouth and drops the glass in her hand) Sergeant Oforiwaa please increase the volume on the tv set.

Sgt. Oforiwah: Okay your Excellency.

Man:(at the matron’s end) Inspector Bediako, please you are close to the tv remote. Kindly increase the volume of the tv, I am interested in what the lady is saying.

Hon. Asantewaa: Ah but how did this information leak to the public domain since it was a silent mission we did?

President R. Mensah: That has to do with the weak security system we have here in our country.

Man: Whoever gave this information out must be dealt with rigidly without any mercy or favour.

President R. Mensah: (looks at inspector Bediako who is feeling uncomfortable) That will not be necessary my people, I think with this kind of information out there, the pressure and sadness in the hearts and minds of Ghanaians will reduce. You know everything we do in life has an advantage and disadvantage.

Hon. Asantewaa: Yet still the person behind this leak must not go unpunished, I will call the National Security Secretary to dispatch some men to that station right away. Mr President you know this tv station has a lot of viewers and followers online, with such information out now, my phone will be buzzing with calls any moment from now. Ah see they have started calling, the Speaker of Parliament is the one calling.

President R. Mensah: Answer it and tell her the matter on ground, my cover has been blown now so we can’t keep it a secret any longer.

Hon. Asantewaa: (answers the phone and puts it on loudspeaker) Good morning madam Speaker of Parliament. This that you are calling me this morning, I hope all is well?

Speaker of Parliament: Good morning my hardworking Chief of Staff, I know how busy you are so I will go straight to the point and ignore all the pleasantries for now. How true is the news that the tv anchor of TV1 is circulating?

Hon. Asantewaa: (looks at the president for a signal) Mmmm the report is true madam Speaker. President Reedolf Mensah is alive and safe at the moment.

Speaker of Parliament: Ah thank you father God, I knew you will not allow the devil to have his way. May your name be praised and lifted high. Ancient of days, mighty warrior, omnipotent and omnipresent God, I am that I am God, Alpha and Omega, the beginning and end God, lion of Judah, thank you for everything you have done for this country. Infact this calls for a celebration and I must call for an emergency meeting right away. So madam chief of staff, where is Mr President now?

Hon. Asantewaa: He is currently at a safe place out of town but he will be conveyed to the Jubilee House very soon so he addresses the nation. Whatever information I stumble upon, I will not hesitate to contact you on that.

Speaker of Parliament: Okay madam, thank you so much for this information, I will excuse myself for now. Have a glorious day. Mmm secretary please get me an expensive bottle of non-alcoholic champagne and a glass right now. (ends the call)

President R. Mensah: (laughs) This woman is full of drama, I can’t imagine the things she will do when she finally sets her eyes on me.

TV Anchor: My lovely viewers both home and in your respective offices, pleases those who are currently calling the studio should take your time. As I said earlier on, the news that I broke to you guys was an unconfirmed report so we are now making calls to the appropriate headquarters to fetch for you the requisite and minute details of that news. Trust TV1 to get all the first hand information when it comes to news. Now let us go to today’s business.

First Lady: Sergeant Oforiwaa please get me my phone, I need to make some calls.

President R. Mensah: I know if my wife watching this programme, her call will becoming through to you madam Asantewaa so please get ready for her call.

Hon. Asantewaa: (phone rings) Ah talk of the devil, she is the one calling right now.

President R. Mensah: Let me talk to her so I can calm her down for good and tell her where exactly I am and the time I will come home.

First Lady: Hello madam Asantewaa please good morning, is the news that broke true? Is my husband still alive? Please can you confirm for me if my sweetheart is alive?

President R. Mensah: Your husband Reedolf Mensah is alive and safe. As a matter of fact he is the one talking to you.

First Lady: Jesus Christ!!! Thank you very much father Lord. Reedolf where are you and what really happened to you? Were you in the plane that crushed? How did you manage to escape? Are you hurt? Reedolf please talk to me.

President R. Mensah: Bae which one should I answer first? Well all I will say now is that I was on the plane but I managed to escape unhurt and I am close to a village called Mansokrom. I will give you details of everything that happened yesterday when I get home.

First Lady: Okay my king, I will be expecting you home soon and please your daughter is here, say hello to her so that she can be at peace. She has been running temperature since last night and she has refused to eat anything I give to her.

President R. Mensah: Let me talk to her.

First Lady: My dear, your father wants to talk to you.

Beverlyn: Hello daddy where are you? I miss you and I want to see you, you didn’t come home last night and you didn’t call to wish us goodnight. Why did you do that?

President R. Mensah: (wipes tears from his eyes) I am very sorry my priceless jewel, I am out of town sorting out things and I will be home today. My phone went off that is why I couldn’t call you guys to wish you good night. I heard you have refused to eat your food since last night, why?

Beverlyn: It is because I heard someone on the tv saying you are dead and I saw you in my dream. Some bad people were chasing you with guns and they wanted to ki*ll you.

President R. Mensah: I am alive and safe my darling girl, now go and eat your food right this moment. I will be home this evening to spend quality time with you. I love you my priceless jewel.

Beverlyn: I love you too daddy. (call ends)

Fast Forward:

Lovia, Denzel and his family arrive at the Matron’s end as the president and his entourage are about to set off to the city.

President R. Mensah: Hey is that Denzel I am seeing?

Denzel: Yes Mr President, what are you doing in my mother’s house sir?

Matron: What am I missing here, do you know each other?

Denzel: Yes mommy, Mr President was my Teaching Assistant back in the university. He was the reason behind my success in my final exams.

President R. Mensah: Madam you son is a gem, if not for him I would have slept under the bridge when I was robbed and couldn’t pay my rent. He took me in, fed and sheltered me till I got back to my feet. We lost contact when he moved to a different state.

Denzel: (hugs the president) Mr President this is my wife Audrey and my kids, she never believed me when I told her I have a personal relationship with you. Sweetheart meet president Reedolf Mensah.

Audrey: (smiles) It is a honour meeting you Mr President. I have heard good things about you and the wonderful things you are doing for the country, Africa and the world at large.

President R. Mensah: Well am flattered with your words but whatever am doing, I am doing for God and country. If I don’t render this service to my country, God and the yet unborn generation won’t forgive me. Your husband is my lost pal and he is a wonderful guy, please do take good care of him for me.

Denzel: Bae should I increase the volume for you? Please pay attention to every single word Mr President is saying to you. (chuckles)

President R. Mensah: Denzel when you return to the city, kindly get in touch with me. I have a role for you to play in my led government.

Matron: That means you guys are not going back to the States again?

Audrey: Mum the truth is we are even planning to relocate to this wonderful country so this is an opportunity I will advice my husband to clinch to.

President R. Mensah: And who is this pretty lady you have with you?

Twum Boafo: (joins the conversation from the bedroom) That young lady is my first born Mr President.

President R. Mensah: (turns to see Twum Boafo) I should have seen the resemblance from the onset. Where do you work young lady?

Lovia: Your Excellency I have been jobless since I finished my national service, it is now that Denzel wants to set up a company which might employ me.

President R. Mensah: Well whatever it is, we will get enough time to talk more later when you guys travel to the city. You guys have some catching up to also do so let us be on our way and thanks so much for that mouth-watering dish madam, I will surely come for the receipe so I can prepare some for my family one day.

Matron: No problem your Excellency, thanks for also accepting to come to my house in the first place.

Twum Boafo: (holds the matron) Mmmmm I don’t know if this is the right time but I will take the risk and capitalise on the opportunity at hand. Ladies and gentlemen I want you to bear me witness as I do this. (goes on his knees)

Hon. Asantewaa: Yesssssss!!!

Twum Boafo: Adwoa ever since I met you in the hospital, you have been a solid rock and pillar behind me. You have showered me with affection, attention and unflinching love even though I wasn’t on the same platform with you. Please can you officially accept to be my wife so that I can become a complete man once again?

Denzel: (smiles and nods his head) Mum this is all I have wished for you ever since daddy passed away. You have mourned daddy well enough and it’s time you move on with your life. Please say yes and make yourself a complete woman once again.

Matron: (eyes filled with tears) Denzel you were my biggest challenge if you would accept for me to marry again but if you are okay with it, then why not. Mr Twum Boafo yes I will accept you marriage proposal and make you a complete man once again. I love you so much.

Twum Boafo: (brings a ring out from his pocket and slides it on the matron’s finger) I love you more my dear, thanks for accepting my marriage proposal. (plants a kiss on the lips of the matron as the others clap their hands)

Man: (pops a champagne from behind) Hip!! Hip!! Hip!!

Inspector Bediako: Hurray!! Please where are the glasses, we need to make merry before we set off.

Later in the Evening President Reedolf Mensah addresses the nation.

President R. Mensah: Good evening my fellow country men and women, I thank you for the mammoth love and support you have been channelling towards my family and government. For some days now I have been pushed to the wall to make tough and unthinkable decisions that seeks to place Ghana our beloved country on the map for the world to know what we are made off. Unfortunately for me, some of the very people I placed my hopes and aspirations were stabbing me in the back and orchestrated my untimely dead so they could take my place and enrich their greedy pockets but little did they know that, the God I serve had made me like a seed that when you bury, I will only germinate and bear fruits in multiple folds. Yesterday happened to be one of the saddest days in the history of our beloved country. I travelled with a team made up of security service personnels and some state advisors on the mission of fighting for the rights and freedom of our fellow sister countries and on our way back after a successful bilateral talks, my presidential plane was hit by a missile which took the lives of all occupants on board except me that escaped through an emergency exit booth on board. Today I am alive and sitting here because of the selfless act the officers took on my behalf and I want to pledge my unflinching and unwavering support to the families of the departed souls and the good people of Ghana that, those officers sacrifices will not be in vain. We as a country will fight and hunt down all the people involved in this heinous act and bring them to justice swiftly without mercy. I am going to order for an erection of a cenotaph for them and their names will go down in the good history books of this blessed country. I think on my experience over last night’s encounter, it has taught me how to add little life to my led administration. Those ugly circumstances left me with uncertainties as to how to play my role as a leader. It is with deep heart that I also announce to the world that the mastermind behind my attack yesterday was no one but my very own vice president James Bugri and his accomplices were my former ministers and members of parliament Honourable Nii Nortey Robertson, Honourable Hajia Ramatu, Honourable Marvin Johnson and some selfish security personnels who are currently in the custody of the Buearea of National Intelligence for further interrogation and investigation. Tonight I make you this vow, I will work everyday trying to be a better man tomorrow than I was a day before and a better president because that is what the good people of Ghana expect from me. I now have to look for someone with clean thoughts and sense of purpose. Someone who I can solely rely upon. Someone who would see the light just the way I forsee the future. Someone who can speak his mind and challenge me positively to become a better leader. Someone who would be in my corner and have my back always, to be honest my former vice president’s action made me feel I can’t trust any one anymore, I never anticipated to find that better candidate anytime soon but I was wrong, so it is with great pleasure, pride and joy that I introduce to you my nominee for the office of the vice president of Ghana, Mr Kwame Twum Boafo. God bless you and God bless our homeland Ghana. Good night.

Twum Boafo and his household were so happy to hear the news when they heard what the president said on the television.

Some days later a private ceremony was held and Inspector Bediako, Honourable Asantewaa, Detective Akoto, CDS, Junior, Twum Boafo and the officers who went on the rescue mission were honoured. After the ceremony the president appealed to detective Akoto to take the place of his dead bodyguard since he had no one now to put his trust in and he accepted to take the offer. That same day Twum Boafo and the matron held their wedding at the court and before they could exchange their wedding vows, they were interrupted by an uninvited guest.

Judge: Say this after me madam. I…….

Matron: I Adwoa………

Mrs Twum Boafo: (cuts in) Not so fast you husband snatcher, you want to reap where you did not sow huh?

Judge: Excuse me madam, please who are you and who gave you the chance to enter my courtroom? Do you know I can charge you with contempt? What right do you have to barge into my courtroom and interrupt my proceedings?

Mrs Twum Boafo: I am sorry your honour but the man in front of you happenings to be my lawfully wedded husband and that gold digger wants to snatch him away from me.

Junior: (screams from behind) You are a liar in Jesus name, you know what you said is a big lie from the pit of hell mummy. You left daddy when things went bad and today you are here saying something new.

Lovia: If not for the fact that we are in a courtroom and you are my mother, I would have given you a hell of beating just to put sense into your head. You are a big shame to womanhood and I don’t think I can stand anywhere and call you my mother. You left daddy to wallow in pain when things went bad and though for him, today you are here to claim ownership of him right? Come and take him away you witch.

Mrs Twum Boafo: Awwwww Lovia and Junior, what has that woman mixed for you to consume that you are talking to me your mother like that? Please don’t take sides for whatever I did was for your father to man up in life.

Matron: Madam please go and preach that sermon to your relatives, you heard what your children, no I mean my children said to you, they don’t need you around them so kindly find something useful to do with yourself. Before you rudely interrupted, I was about to exchange my wedding vows with my husband to be so if you don’t mind, either you sit down and watch the proceedings live or you walk out of this place.

Judge: I am sorry sir but this proceedings can’t continue. The woman claim she is your lawfully wedded wife and our laws of this country doesn’t allow a man who is legally married to a woman to add another woman to the marriage.

Hon. Asantewaa: (cuts in) Your honour, you heard what the children of the same woman interrupting the marriage proceedings said, the woman left the marriage and now because she heard the man is back on his feet, she has carried her two left legs to create a scene here. I pray you temper justice without mercy here.

Judge: (sits for a while and speaks) Woman if I hear any more word from you, I will charge you with obstruction of law contempt. If you have any problem, get yourself a lawyer and let him do all the legal documentation so you come to court. Now where were we before we were interrupted?

Junior: My new mother was about to say her marriage vow to my father.

At Karl Simpson’s Office:

Accountant: You called for me sir?

Karl Simpson: Yes I did Mr Ampah, I have been watching you struggle with the other workers for a place in the staff bus. As the chief accountant of this company who has been a pillar of the progress of this company and pioneer, I think it is prudent for your comfort to be placed on a top notch mark. At the car park is a white Nissan Pathfinder, that is your car from today and even if you stop working here today, that car is your personal property. This is your key and the envelope contains the car documents.

Accountant: (very shocked) I didn’t see this coming sir. Thank you so much for this generous offer, honestly I am out of words.

Karl Simpson: Don’t be surprise sir, you deserve even more after your loyalty to this company over the years. Also that ugly encounter that took place between us, it thought me a whole lot of things so please go and enjoy your car. You can as well close for the day.

Mrs Twum Boafo run out of the court premises without looking left or right as she crosses the road, unfortunately for her, she is knocked down by a sceptic tanker and she died at the spot. Some few days later, vice president James Bugri, Honourable Hajia Ramatu, Honourable Marvin Johnson, Honourable Nii Nortey Robertson and the police officers who were involved with the bush mission were found guilty by three judges from the Supreme Court with the charges of treason, attempting to murder, murder, unlawful possession of firearms and kidnapping. They were sentenced to death by electrocution but hajia Ramatu pleaded to be hanged and of which her request was granted. All the military personnels involved in the scandal also faced the court marshal, their ranks were wiped off and they were also sentenced to death by firing squad.

Denzel and his family finally relocated to the country permanently and is currently a minister of state who is discharging his duties deligently.

Inspector Bediako got his date with Wendy and on that night his proposal was accepted. Some days later he was promoted and is now a Supritendent and heading one of the criminal investigation department at the police headquarters.

Cindy later meet Karl Simpson in a restaurant where Karl apologised for his inhuman behaviour the other time, she forgave him and they are currently in a relationship trying to see if they can settle down as man and wife.

Gifty and Kelvin solved their differences and are now undergoing counselling for their marriage.

Lovia and Junior are currently in the States pursuing her masters degree whiles junior is in the high school.
